Great advice. I thought I was good at cutting dark nails, until I did one wrong and literally spent the whole day to stop the bleeding (it was a nightmare). Unless your dog does not get daily walks, it will not need any nail clipping.
It’s always bothered me cutting nails. I understand that there are clippers now that shine a light and help you spot the nerve, thus avoid it completely when cutting.
Thanks for this :) I was hoping I could get my Rottie's nails shorter like that. She hates having her claws touched, nevermind actually clipping them! Another reason I won't go to a groomer is I worry she might bite them for trying. I mean, I don't think she would but why risk it, you know?
I have a 9 year old 100 pound spayed female Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever Nikita and her nails are long and she has arthritis and cannot walk that far anymore and the veterinarian is close to us and does not charge very much for cutting nails, so we take her and have them cut her nails. We should have them done more often because she is a crate trained and indoor dog and we have scars from her accidentally scratching us with her nails.
first thing I noticed. Your dog wants his nails clipped. In fact, I'd say he has a total boner for it. Secondly, the entire world knows that you can't see the quick in a dark nail. This is not a revelation of any kind. It can be expensive? I guess if you don't do it yourself. That being said, just knock the points off. Don't overdo it. Your dog will get used to it if you start them young. I trim my Rottweiler's nails all the time. I have been doing so for 9 years. I hurt her once. It sucked. Like I said, just take the points off.
Walking on pavement out here in Florida is not a good idea. I hit the woods and creeks trails . I. The morning and late afternoons. Run walk 8miles + about 2 and half hours . Daily and I still have to trim nails a bit .
Not at all... All my Rotties have had a full life of free-range. At young ages of course they will be contained to small yards or spaces for training purposes. Thanks for watching!!

That isn't a dog. That is a goat!

What about the duclaw… walking ain’t going to work…
I'm not cutting my Rottweiler nails either 👍🏼
FYI I noticed your dog eating sticks , be careful if those don't all pass they can tear intestines and do major damage!

That’s understandable. Up north the pavement isnt really an issue
Only reason; you're scared and you haven't acclimated them.
I hope you don't leave him on that short chain very long he's beautiful

He can’t eve lay down that chain is too short
He was laying down, but the point of the video wasn’t to display his laying down capabilities. Thank you for you comment it was a great contribution!
