    Hey Miko I have been following you since day 1 and it’s because of you I am debt free as well (paid off over $100,000) and people still think I’m crazy for even talking about debt... now my next move is to buy me and my daughters our dream home but I’m not paying it off in cash so now I’m kinda scared but I understand money now!!! Thanks Miko

      Buy a home you can pay off in 15 years or less. You don't have to pay cash or take 30 years to pay it off. It's okay to have payments but just setup a payment plan that allows you to pay it off in less than 30 years. Not having a mortgage is the most freeing thing ever.

    • @sabrinapack2135

      yavenay I started my process and that’s my exact plan to pay it off early thank you so much

    • @yavenay
      @yavenay 4 роки тому +1

      @@sabrinapack2135 I personally don't care what financial advisors say regarding paying your home off early. The freedom that you will feel can't be explained. Ironically I don't think financial advisors factor in that you need less money when your home is paid off. I can work part time if I want to and still live my current lifestyle. I downsized to a smaller house and it was the best financial decision I've ever made. Since downsizing and freeing up extra money, I was able to double my net worth in two years plus buy two rental properties. It would of taken me so much longer to do that had it not been for having a paid off mortgage.

    my husband & I have been extremely strict on our budget this month & it has been very stressful. But we have managed to PAY off $1,750 IN DEBT this month alone!! We both cried when we realized that everything we have done is finally paying off! i'm very excited to buy your budget workbook next week because i know it will keep us on track even more. Thank you soooooo much miko, you have no idea how happy i am to have found your channel

    So a bad credit score affects things like homeowners insurance rates. With a bad credit score, you pay a higher rate. Maintaining a good credit score is a smart thing to do, even if you don’t ever plan to borrow. Again, it affects other areas too.

    Thank goodness my husband and I are disciplined. We charge gas, groceries, eating out, insurance, and whatever we can on a credit card, but when the statement comes in, we pay it off in full. We never are charged interest. We have been doing this for over 40 years. We have never NOT paid it off in full. We are blessed.

    I am the same. I don’t trust myself with credit cards. I paid them all off and now I have fallen for the trap of, “you need a credit card to build credit to buy your house”. Got the card, got the house. Now have multiple cards maxed out. I just CANNOT have a credit card. I have no control. Now paying them off AGAIN and sick because of this process AGAIN. SMH

    Being debt free indcluding a mortgage is an amazing feeling. I am 100% debt free as well. I am not rich but I am financially independent. Because of it, I now have so many options that I am having trouble choosing on what i want to do next. I will say this..,.....for the first time in my life at the age of 56, I can finally let my spirit lead and guide me. It is so amazing. I only wish I had done it sooner but hey better late than never. Boy did they lie to us......through marketing they told us get the big house, drive the fancy car, have 2.5 kids and be in credit card debt (all of which I did except for the kids)......it was all a lie. It's okay to be in debt temporarily but debt should never been from cradle to grave or a lifelong endeavor. If I could go back in time, I would of paid cash for my first house too. I was in IT making 93k a year single with no kids......I should of been able to retire decades ago.......lol. But I only recently found out about the FIRE movement at the age of 50 and that is when my entire life change......instead of working until 65, with just a few adjustments (like selling my house and paying cash for a smaller house and increasing my investments to 78% of my income) and viola, I am now able to retire 12 years before I expected.....mind officially blown.........Fortunately because of being saver, I manage to save a substantial amount before the age of 50 so I was already ahead of the game, getting rid of the mortgage was the icing on the cake. It never once occurred to me to save more than the 15-20% they (financial advisors) always told us to save........I was just living, enjoying my life living in big houses, driving fancy cars and going on expensive vacations. I don't regret it, i only wished I had invested more than the standard 15-20%. Oh well.
    Because of being debt free, I did buy two rental properties both of which have a small mortgage ( only 1000.00 for both) but will net me about 1300 a month so I have investment debt but I don't have any personal debt. All I can say is the next best thing to being rich is being debt free. My credit score is also in the 800s. I am now discipline enough to use credit cards and pay them off in full. I love the rewards points.......do you know how much free stuff I've gotten from Amazon, not to mention discounts on flights.

    As Dave Ramsey says, a credit score is a debt score. I use credit cards for all my bills and expenses. I pay it off every month. I get cash back for using it.

    This video hits home! I’m debt free as of 2 years ago. I got a credit card with a $300 limit after a year because I knew it would help me build my credit. The company raised my limit this year and it took 5 phone calls, but i finally got them to lower it again. Increased limits was what got me in debt in the first place!

    816 isn’t that great? If it’s on the 850 scale that puts you at the most preferable “borrower” and will get you better insurance rates etc.

    I have a question about my budget categories. Let’s say I go to Walmart and by food but also buy shampoo, soap, dog food and maybe some clothing all in that one Walmart trip. How do I separate that to show where my money went? I’m working on the BBP workbook and am tracking my spending but don’t know how to separate these “all in one” shopping trips. Any advice would help.

    Miko, would you please help me understand better how you track your spending. If I buy something at Walmart it may include groceries, but it also may include things for our kids bday, or fishing gear that I am trying to set make as “fun money” for my husband each time we get paid. So do you look at each receipt and break down cost of groceries, and if you purchased something in the same transaction that wasn’t groceries do you remove that amount from the total and separate it on your tracking sheet? Just really having a difficult time with tracking spending to be able to create a realistic budget to start with. If you could answer here or maybe this would be a good video. Idk just would like help so I can work on my families debt.

    • @Bill-vi1vp
      @Bill-vi1vp 4 роки тому +1

      Take your Walmart trip in as groceries. Then take your money you spent at Walmart for Kids' Bday and move it into groceries. Do the same for your fishing gear. That's what I do. It doesn't have to be 100% correct. Hope that helps.
