"Delightfully unhinged" I love it 😂 You could use the fabrics for reuseable gift bags, maybe with a ribbon drawstring to make them extra festive. Shouldn't be too much work to make, and saves wrapping paper, too!
The Christmas Gherkin (pickle)! My grandfather had an old glass pickle ornament from his childhood. He’d hide it somewhere on the tree or in the house, and when the entire family spent Christmas Day at my grandparents’ home we had to find the pickle. Whoever found it got a coveted box of See’s Chocolates. The tradition (minus the chocolates) was from my Grandfather’s childhood in Chicago with German-American parents who had immigrated in the 1930s. I now have German in-laws who think I’m hallucinating when I talk about the Christmas Gherkin, so I’m fairly certain this is an American thing from around the late 1800s/early 1900s when German-made glass ornaments were really popular.
I'm having more fun this Xmas than ever before 😊 Flablingmas with avocados is my favorite! Oh and then she ends with 'I need to go find my sheep' that's iconic😂
A table runner sounds really fun. I hope your back is feeling better soon! I find a heated rice sock really helps me. I'm loving your fun, relaxed vibe. ❤
Unhinged Christmas is the only kind of Christmas I have patience for. Christmas dinosaurs? Amazing. Spooky Christmas? I wasn't planning on putting my Halloween things away anyway.
That fabric with all the random things makes me think of my family’s Christmas trees. We just buy whatever ornaments we like when we see them and add them to the tree. 4:41
My five-year-old loved those Christmas fabrics; I see a trip to Joanns in our future. I vote for a quilt or an apron but make whatever makes you happy. Happy holidays 🎄! Happy creating 💚🧶🩷
I feel like a set of holiday display placemats could be nice (like the ones that are too nice to eat off of!) if you don't want to make a table runner. I love the craziness of those fabrics!
Bahahaha the edits in this one had me cackling! 😂 Favorite deli food: Isaly's chipped ham. It's a Pittsburgh thing, and I miss it so much. My mom would just douse it in Heinz ketchup and call it "chipped ham bbq" - a slightly less messy alternative to sloppy joes. A genuine staple of my childhood. 😅
It's so wonderful to see you on again for Vlogmas! I enjoy your videos so very much, you're my absolute favorite. Also, thank you for several out-loud giggles this morning. :)
Christmas Pickles!!!!! my dad loved pickles. LOVED them. so, on Christmas, we always gave him one of those gallon jugs of huge pickles. he would open that first and eat a huge pickle while the rest of the family opened presents. ho ho ho Christmas Pickles.
I've made very nice quilted potholders that can be used also as a decorative wall hanging. For the inside, one can use old flannel bedsheets or terry cloth. I use a layer or two of batting, thermal fiber and/or flannel. It absorbs heat very well and protects your hands. What's also great is that one can wash them over and over without damaging them . I still use my potholders after many, many years of use.
We don't have a proper deli here but I love any and all of the olives. Those fabrics are incredible. I especially enjoy the santa hat skeletons and deathflakes; it's very Gothmas. They would all make such a wildly chaotic crazy quilt together.
Your release schedule is holding perfect for something to watch while I eat lunch! I adore your channel and absolutely am loving your theme of slowing down!
I use fabric to wrap presents (the ones opened in our house, I still use paper if it's for someone out and about) so that's what I would use the quarters for!
these fabrics are delightful!! im so excited to see what fun sewing/quilting ideas you get (especially since i have my own little stash of fun fabric squares ive been waiting for inspiration to use 🥰) absolutely obsessed with the really wild one with starfish santa and also the skeleton xmas dance party :)
I so needed to see crazy fabric at this moment. I was using my knitting machine and all the knitting fell off right before this video started. Luckily I was able to hang my stitches back up from the ribbing and just a few rows had to be frogged. I got some really cool alien christmas fabric that is destined to become a stocking for my fiance. He is a big alienware/alien in general guy. I'm not sure I like ceviche but I will always go for a classic jojo/potato wedge. I made a cool half square triangle turned to stars table runner a few years ago, though my son has stolen it as his crazy scarf so it lives in his room with his dragon hoard of goodies. Just saying HST are quick and easy.
German tradition of hiding a glass pickle ornament on the tree and the first child that finds it Christmas morning gets an extra gift/piece of chocolate or something. Looking forward to seeing the sheep sweater! Love the crazy fabrics.
I need to pull out Christmas from storage. Sweaters, socks, decor. The whole 9 yards. And I need to design a gift for my kids so I can use the fun stuff at the library’s maker space. They just got a sublimation machine.
Table napkins are the easiest from your FQS 😂. The Christmas pickle is the weirdest 😅. I don't remember that in the nativity story? Favorite deli items thick turkey slices and just as thick havarti for a delish sandwich 🥪 ...with a kosher dill pickle ! 😋
The only thing I miss living in the upper RH corner of the country is knishes from the deli (okay, maybe also some types of apples), but takeout tiramisu from the food coop offers some consolation. No ceviche though.
I think you definitely need an unhinged Cheistmas lap quilt! But I also thing it would be cute to cut pieces of each fabric to put in some cute (thrifted?) frames so you can display them and smile!
the fabric with all the xmas ornaments feels like someone was asked wich theme to go with and just answered "yes" xD you should try a quilted table runner? :O
Not gunna lie. I love those fabrics! Jente of Mijn Wolden recently made a pair of skullflake mittens for a friend. So I'm wondering about incorporating those fabrics into garments, maybe with some theming, so that the dinosaur-pulled sleigh goes with the completely wild print with unicorns and dinosaurs & starfish santas. And the skeletal ones could go together in another garment. Some years ago now a woman in Australia made a bit of a splash in the fashion and craft scene by making men's shirts that looked perfectly conventional when the wearer had their jacket on but which then revealed wildly colourful sleeves and backs when the jacket was removed. Perhaps you could go for that kind of concept. Other than sewing hexagons together by hand in grade 8 at school, I've never done any patchworking. My impression is that it is a whole other craft and, frankly fairly labour intensive. So while I think those fabrics could make an awesome wild Christmas patchwork quilt, I wouldn't even dream of trying to finish it for this Christmas. Maybe next if the spirit moves you.
I like the idea of placemats. Whole cloth, not pieced. Also, as a whole different direction, you could make yourself a festive item of clothing. if you sew all the fat quarters together so it’s yardage shaped, you could then make a skirt or blouse or something. I didn’t count, but six fat quarters would give you a yard and a half of 43-44” fabric. Maybe a gored skirt with every other panel in a solid color? Or you could go back to Joann’s and get more unhinged fabric as yardage! Make a whole dress! Yeah … or maybe placemats. 😂 I have too many ideas. 🥰
Unhinged Xmas patchwork skirt to go with ugly Xmas sweater. You can have the top be the fabric and quilt it to flannel or corduroy so it's nice and warm. Favorite deli item is bagels and schmere
I have santa skull PJ pants that I wear all winter. I'd make a whole outfit of it if I could find the fabric... one year I put colour-changey LED skulls in my xmas tree with santa hats on them, so... yeah. And the skeletons must be dancing to Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas Eve in Sarajevo. And I'd totally wear skullflakes too. I kinda feel like you could kinda quilt/patchwork an apron for yourself out of some of the unhinged fabric and with the rest you could do Victorian Crazy Quilting and maybe make gift bags with them. (Shanon Makes did a couple videos on the crazy quilting, great way to use up any leftover bits of almost anything). Deli food? I'm honestly not sure what counts as deli food, I so rarely buy prepared food these days. Maybe sushi?
I feel like the pickle and the one with all the different shapes and animals are meant to be ornaments. I usually get sandwiches at delis, generally with ham and/or turkey these days.
Shannon Makes did some Crazy Quilt stuff last Year. I'd love to see those fabrics in one of those... I think it could be fun without the pressure as well - it shall be crazy ;)
Off topic, but I would love to see you knit or weave a bolero and cowl combo! That would be so cute, pleasseeeeee 🥰 it’s a nice way to stay warm, but have different outfits with a single set. I’m begging 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Oh my! Those are awful (sorry) 😂. I would cover some books 📚 for the coffee table then invite your prudest friend over to admire them and watch the reaction 😂
My girlfriend wants to give me a Christmas cloth. And I was just wondering if it's worth the money to give to her unique one for me I never walked around in the Christmas coughing my life and I was just wondering if it was worthwhile but since I love her I'll probably have to go by what she says I'm really confused
Christmas Pickle is a thing! These days it's usually a non-perishable ornament or the like, but you hide it and whoever finds it gets a prize or has good luck. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_pickle
"Delightfully unhinged" I love it 😂
You could use the fabrics for reuseable gift bags, maybe with a ribbon drawstring to make them extra festive. Shouldn't be too much work to make, and saves wrapping paper, too!
There is a tradition of placing a pickle ornament on your tree and the 1st person to notice it gets a prize. So, Christmas Pickles
It's also been around a lot longer than pickle rick. The first time I heard of it was in the early 2000s I think
@ It’s always attributed to a german tradition, but that is not true
I have a pickle ornament. My kids used to be as excited to find the pickle as they were to see what Santa brought.

I vote for Apron. They are such a fun way to show off fun fabrics and you can use it as part of your wardrobe.
I'm having more fun this Xmas than ever before 😊
Flablingmas with avocados is my favorite!
Oh and then she ends with 'I need to go find my sheep' that's iconic😂
These are POCKETS! on EVERYTHING! including the front door knob. 😁
You should use the fabric to make some reusable gift wraps!
I got the dinosaur one and plan to make a little dress for my Service dog for the holidays. Im so excited.
I'm glad you explained how the row counter worked. I hadn't seen one like that before. The editing on this video is amazing!
A table runner sounds really fun. I hope your back is feeling better soon! I find a heated rice sock really helps me. I'm loving your fun, relaxed vibe. ❤
Christmas gift bags are what I would use the fabric for. They are beautifully sustainable and become family heirlooms that last for generations.
This was hilarious and so much fun! Great editing. I vote for a simple table runner. It would be a conversation starter!
Unhinged Christmas is the only kind of Christmas I have patience for. Christmas dinosaurs? Amazing. Spooky Christmas? I wasn't planning on putting my Halloween things away anyway.

These vlogmas posts are delightful! Thank you for sharing them with us.

Those fabrics are AMAZING!!! I think i'd have to make a project bag with both of the skeleton ones!!

My daughter would so love those fabrics with skulls and Halloween themed prints.
Your release schedule is holding perfect for something to watch while I eat lunch! I adore your channel and absolutely am loving your theme of slowing down!
I have serious fabric envy right now 😮I’m thinking a table runner as they are definitely going to get people talking ❤
Merry Christmas. You're delightful. I vote for a child's quilt.

jojo's! i love the spice mixed the deli puts on those potatoes
My favorite deli sandwich is a chopped liver sandwich on rye bread. And some Matzah ball soup. Heaven!
German tradition of hiding a glass pickle ornament on the tree and the first child that finds it Christmas morning gets an extra gift/piece of chocolate or something. Looking forward to seeing the sheep sweater! Love the crazy fabrics.
I vote for either a table runner or quilted garland for the mantle / tree.
I love your Vlogmas episodes ❄ ❤❄ For the fabrics - a festive winter rag rug would be great! Fav deli - Broccoli Salad :)
Lay the fat quarters out in a pleasing manner. Then sew those puppies together and make a lap quilt. You could back it with a crazy flannel sheet.
Fabric gift bags! They remind me of silly wrapping paper and I'm seriously considering grabbing some to make gift bags now
I need to pull out Christmas from storage. Sweaters, socks, decor. The whole 9 yards. And I need to design a gift for my kids so I can use the fun stuff at the library’s maker space. They just got a sublimation machine.

THIS IS THE BEST!!!!!!😂
Bowl koozies!…mug rugs….zipper pouch….sew much fun ta use….✂️🎄
Deli food is the best food I could never pick just one!
Oh my gosh! Where on earth did you get the dinosaur fabric???? I have a total Dino boy, and I have to make him something out of that!
Joann's and I bet you can order online if you don't have one nearby. 🦖🦕💜
I like to sew napkins with my fun fabric, we use them year round
The only thing I miss living in the upper RH corner of the country is knishes from the deli (okay, maybe also some types of apples), but takeout tiramisu from the food coop offers some consolation. No ceviche though.

That is a great idea! I love to thrift frames. 😊
They could also be a garland, curious to see what you do with them :)
Charlieeee 🤣🤣
My weekend plans include finding some fabric like this, plain sweatshirt, fusible interfacing, puffy fabric glue and making some epic ugly sweaters 🎄
Holiday pot holders, placemats, or crazy festive project bags!
the fabric with all the xmas ornaments feels like someone was asked wich theme to go with and just answered "yes" xD

🥰
Too many ideas here too! 😅
My vote is table runner or pillows and bang bang shrimp salad at Jewel.
Unhinged Xmas patchwork skirt to go with ugly Xmas sweater. You can have the top be the fabric and quilt it to flannel or corduroy so it's nice and warm. Favorite deli item is bagels and schmere
Would love to make a dress in the scullflake fabric!
Oh my goodness a dress with a fitted bodice and a full circle skirt would be AMAZING!!! ❄💀💃
The pickle has been a standard in the Pittsburgh, PA forever
I have santa skull PJ pants that I wear all winter. I'd make a whole outfit of it if I could find the fabric... one year I put colour-changey LED skulls in my xmas tree with santa hats on them, so... yeah.

Pillows and aprons for the fabric finds. Cook can rest after all the cooking.
I feel like the pickle and the one with all the different shapes and animals are meant to be ornaments.
I usually get sandwiches at delis, generally with ham and/or turkey these days.
I know it's late, but those fabrics would make some fun placemats.
Use the fabric as reusable gift wrap, or make simple drawstring gift bags. I am hitting Joann's today because of this fabric.
Lox and bagels but I don’t have a deli that even knows what lox is 😢where I live now😊
Shannon Makes did some Crazy Quilt stuff last Year. I'd love to see those fabrics in one of those... I think it could be fun without the pressure as well - it shall be crazy ;)
Dude I bought 2yards of the skull-flake fabric last week. 🤣🤣No idea what I’m gonna do with it but it’s in the stash
In the Terry Pratchett disk world novels, did Death stand in for the Hogfather one year? Hmmmm. Have a look and see if you can find inspiration there.
QUILTED APRON!!!! bonus points for faux fur trim**
Fabric for knitting/crafting bags? Could be simple drawstring bags, No fuss.
favorite deli food: gyro - but it must be authentic, actually Greek. and yes, the tzatziki base matters.
Ha! Reminds me the Doctor Who episode called "Dinosaurs in Space".
We're going on an adventure charlie 😂
🦄🦄🦄 That fabric was an adventure!
As soon as you said Joann’s I got in the car.
😂😂😂
Off topic, but I would love to see you knit or weave a bolero and cowl combo! That would be so cute, pleasseeeeee 🥰 it’s a nice way to stay warm, but have different outfits with a single set. I’m begging 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
That sounds like a great project idea! I'll definitely add it to the list!
@JillianEve Omg thank you! 😊 You’re the best!
Fabric wrapping paper or giftbags
An apron would be cute.
English paper piecing ? Making a snowflake/flower out of the fabrics with that method.
I don't normally buy deli food, but there is a store here that gas a great "make your salad" .
My suggestion is to sew the fabric into panels and make a big beanbag cover....
How about a patchwork shawl with your fun fabrics...
Vote for a table runner for the grownups table!
Unhinged christmas quilt 😂
I'd make pillowcases out of those but that obviously isn't what you want since you'd have to have some truly humongous pillows.
So here I am trying to figure out what she was actually talking about
btw, I get it. Please breathe. The world will not end if it's not all done in a day, or even ever.
SEW VERY EASY flip and stitch table runner on youtube may be a possibility!
Holiday bunting? To display October through January?😂 4 months of decoration with minimal installation stress
Hmmm... Did you and Jente scheme to both talk about dinosaurs in your most recent uploads? Is there an advent dinosaur agenda I'm not aware of???
No, I haven't seen hers yet! 🦖🦕😅
@JillianEve Oh you're in for a treat then! 😁🦕🌊
