  • Assalam o Alaikum Viewers. Today we bring you 3rd episode of maintaining my Civic Reborn. In today's episode we will test 2 cheap products on my Civic. One is a car compound which is used to buff of light scratches, Swirl marks & oxidization from Car's paint and the second product will be car wax. Wax is used to protect the clear coat of car and also gives better shine with hydrophobic effect. We will see can these cheap product perform better than some expensive products available on the market or are these just some scam. We will be using Tonyin Ceramic Crystal Coating Wax & Kangaroo Compound.

Japanese Clear Coats are known to be very soft and susceptible to UV corrosion/oxidation. Paint is applied thin around the edges and concentrated in the middle to avoid drip marks by the manufacturer. Usually oxidation is somewhat uniform, this however is not the case. The spotting around the edges where the clear coat is thin, suggests that there is no more clear coat left and what your seeing is the Color Coat, which may be matt in its finish.
No amount of buffing or compounding will fix it....

Thank you for the detailed analysis. I will get it checked by the paint shop.

Apply compound against the scratch. If the scratch is horizontal then work the compound in vertical motion. Oxidation may be removed with the help of wet sanding and then buffing it with a DA polisher.

This will work for scratches but is overkill on oxidation. A simple one stage polish can remove all oxidation, but that however is not oxidation rather clear coat damage.

That is NOT oxidation, the compound will only make it worse. That spotting means there is no clear coat left and compounding it will only remove the surrounding clear coat and increase the size of it. get it showered or better repaint the whole panel.

Very informative video brother. Try to use turtles rubbing compound and polish. These two products when used together gives phenomenal results.

1 use compound with machine or hand
    2. Use scratch out and wipe off
    3. Use toniyan wax
After using scratch out you see a big difference in it next time must try
