45-year-old shipwreck is Cape Town's latest tourist attraction

Cape Town residents and tourists are flocking to Oudekraal to view the 45-year-old Antipolis shipwreck that now lies nestled between the rocks near the Twelve Apostles Hotel.

My uncle, Andrew Stewart, was a chief engineer with the South African harbour service. He was in his tug the night the Antipolis ran into trouble. They put a line onto her but it broke and she ran aground.
I dived the wreck in the late 80’s or early 90’s. I told Andrew I’d dived it and he told me the story.

I remember disco parties on this ship in the 70’s. Then sadly they were banned. Pity because no one was being disturbed by the festive noise
