3 months ago, we visited Siargao Island and until now, we still can’t move on from everything.
Siargao - Surfing Capital of the Philippines has created quite a wave in the recent years. But the island is a lot more than its waves.

Q: When should I visit Siargao?
A: The best month to visit is between March-September. September is also the month of annual surfing competition. Rains could be frequent as between November-January. We visited in the month of November and it wasn’t bad.
Q: Where should I stay in Siargao?
A: Most people stay in General Luna because they want to be in the the center of Siargao’s restaurants and night life. But if you want to relax, recharge and unwind, I would recommend North Siargao. It’s away from popular tourist spots. North Siargao is pure bliss!
We stayed at Villa Margarita Homestay in Pilar. The resort is surrounded by lush greenery and is just a short walk away from the beach, making it a great choice for couples or families looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay. It’s literally a paradise!

The host arranged a pick up service for us from Dapa Port to Pilar and drop off service from Pilar to Data Port for php 1200 for 2 people.
Q: How do I get around Siargao?
A: You can ride a habal-habal. I’m not sure how much would it cost but I think it would be an expensive option. If you’re an experienced motorcycle driver and you wanted to explore the island on your own. Scooter rentals are available for rent almost everywhere for as little as php 300/day exclusive of gas.
