@terrystevens5261 Correct. But the HAS1 model was RN and the RAF never had this model. The 6 bladed tail rotor was introduced in the mk2 and all the mk1s were retrofitted. The RAF version is a mk3 and all had 6 bladed tail rotors. This does not detract from the exceptional work on this model, but it is wrong.
I have flown 592 and this is a brilliant model. It just has one thing very different from the real one…… it’s too clean! This is like the day it came out of the factory - the morning because by the afternoon it would have been sooty. Well done great model
I have actually flown the Seaking on numerous occasions to go to rescues. God it brings back fantastic memories. Well done on the build. You could use it for filming, you flew it with precision. Fantastic
Couldn't use it for filming,... Because of how expensive it'd be to build the scale city to fly it over! :) And maybe because of actors vs safety - actors do some dumb things on set,..
I have been flying rc models for around 18 years and that was one of the best I have ever seen. That was scale flying at its best. If we didnt see the ground just the air the person recording this could have said it was a real helicopter. I remember these helicopters when they were in active service flying from RAF Valley on anglesey. Great looking model and great flying
Beautifully flown scale model! Flown with scaled performance and maneuvers that reflect the actual aircraft. We rarely see that with the overpowered RC aircraft that are demonstrated today.
That level of detail in that model is stunning, he should be very proud of building that beauty, the noise it made as it spooled up was amazing just like a smaller version of the real helicopter , absolutely amazing build. Wow..cant believe how life like it sounds ,all that was missing from the model was a crew member dangling down on his rescue harness to save someone, maybe the model builder could get that detail in for next time, that would be amazing 👏.
Now THAT is an = EXCELLENT = model of a Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King and an =EXCELLENT = RC flight video‼THIS is the way RC flight videos need to be made‼👍🏽 CONGRATULATIONS and Thanks for showing your model, its FANTASTIC DETAILING and your flight demonstration capabilities‼✅👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😍 God Bless🙏🏽
Guys, that was absolutely staggering! Fabulous model and amazing flight, what wonderful capability this craft has and cannot imagine the hours of work to build this terrific craft! Thanks so much for sharing, astounded!
Fully agree. I guess it was a slow day on phub and that's why a few eegits made silly inane comments about "errors". Totally churlish and from the replies they got, it seems they weren't even correct.
Thank you for posting this! The seaking (Sikorsky or Westland) has been my absolute favorite helicopter ever flown! I’ve always wanted an RC seaking but the cost and my inability to fly one always stopped me. Again thank you so much for posting this and fantastic landing!
My father was a Sea King Mechanic in the Canadian Milatary for 32 years!! At the end of the Sea Kings service it was someone like 35 man hours of repair per 1 hour flight! Lol! They were death machines at the end! But a cool helicopter!! I use to see them from 12 Wing Shearwater in Nova Scotia Canada, so excerises over my house as a kid! Use to love when they would come and land in the middle of the lake and putt around like a boat! Lol!!
I've spent many hours on the flight deck of the CV-42 & CVA-59 working while these SH-3s flew circuits overhead. I've watched them pull pilots out of the water and tried to save men who went overboard and this is a very accurate display of that aircraft in flight! Very good RC and piloting. Brought back many memories.
At first look it's amazing, the sound it made as the rotors turned blew me away. It sounded like the real thing I used to see at RIAT many years ago now. Then it lifted off, and I just could not believe my eyes having seen the size of it. I could go on about this for days, but suffice it to say, this is the best R/C aircraft I've ever seen! Hands down, the most beautiful example of a model ever. THANK YOU, BTW I've sub'd because of this! It is what it is, perfect or flawed it just is.
I lived in Cornwall for 20 Years and would see these, and the Royal Navy equivalents out training and in mission regularly before the Merlin took over. I have difficulty telling this from the real thing, She really is that good.
Nice RC model. I would never personally get one so nice and attempt to fly it. I am sure you graduated from something smaller or got lessons. That model has a hefty price tag. I would not risk flying it unless someone showed me how.
This is incredible. This model is worthy of a weathered finish for further scale realism. The piped in sound was a tad over the top but nice in the video. It looked like a choreographed flight matching the sound. Yes, weather it too.
I have a friend who flew these for Air Sea Rescue then went on to be a Maintenance Test Pilot while in the Royal Navy. It really looks like the real thing...but faster.
Thank you for showing us the many beautiful details on this helicopter from so close! Great model. And Pilot Kay Matthiesen was flyimg it buttersmooth! The sound of the turbine is fantastic! To answer qour questions @ChrissRC : Yes. I like this model and the video very much! Thanks! It was a pleasure to whatch it!
Hi Steve, the retract is almost ready and undergoing stress tests in my workshop at the moment - I couldn't wait for this to be completely done before flying. Hence a straight bar in the undercarriage opposed to the full retract mechanism. I appreciate your feedback
I’ve enjoyed flying RC scale helicopters for almost fifty years and I enjoy watching videos of them on UA-cam, but rarely do I bother watching to the end. This one however is the exception. A beautifully made model, superbly flown and extremely good camerawork. Thank you.
I fully agree. It's also great to see the blades slowly start to rotate on startup. I realize that's not possible with electric motors so it's great to see. This a truly realistic machine
Fantastic. On a side note, I watched a neighbor land one of his helicopters in his yard not 5 minutes ago. He has a helicopter flight, charter business. I love hearing the turbine wind-up to start. It reminds me of being in the military. We are on military aircraft flight paths and often have UH-60s, CH-47s, AH-64s as well as A-10s, F-15Es and other fast movers.
Damn that is a beautiful model . It flies so realistically, it could be used in a movie, I hate Cgi aircraft used in movies, they just look fake. But some of these great models would work well. 😊
I know Navy aviators go through the toughest of tough training and Sea King pilots are among the best fliers there are. But nevertheless, those two pilots look as cool as cucumbers as they prepare to take this chopper up in the air.
Superdetail, add weathering together with realistic pilot figures and this already wonderful model will be a masterpiece. It is such an impressive and steady flyer which looks magnificent in the air. Well done Sir!
Awesome ! I could hardly distinguish that it was a model in a lot of the footage, And my compliments to the pilot who definitely has the finesse that would be required in any flight of a treasure like that life like replica demands ,excellent control would be an understatement . Thanks
Magnificent model. I love the large scale r/c stuff, they fly so nicely and in a scale manner. My favorite helicopter is the CH-53E Super Stallion; I'd love to see a model of it in the same scale as this Sea King.
I suspect that flying s real one would be easier than flying a RC one., you'd have a direct sense of motion in 3 dimensions. With an RC you have to imagine it.
Do you like this model? And do you like this Video? Feel free, to let me know in the comments! ✌️
Nice model but has the wrong tail rotor, should have 6 blades not 5
I flew the H3 in the NAVY late 60s off the Forrestal. Lots of coupler approaches to 40 ft hover chasing Soviet subs. HS 3
@@BasTurvey The Has1 variant has a five bladed tail rotor.
@terrystevens5261 Correct. But the HAS1 model was RN and the RAF never had this model. The 6 bladed tail rotor was introduced in the mk2 and all the mk1s were retrofitted. The RAF version is a mk3 and all had 6 bladed tail rotors.

This has to be the best model I have ever seen in my entire life !!! Utter respect to the person that built this.
I agree, and was not just about looks, the way it was flown was really scale.
Yes, you could have mistaken it for the real thing, and the sound of the turbine, unbelievable !@@LeeShand
Not only that the sound is a complete replica as well.

couldbeforgiven for thinking this was footage of a fullsize aircraft. Well done!
I have flown 592 and this is a brilliant model. It just has one thing very different from the real one…… it’s too clean! This is like the day it came out of the factory - the morning because by the afternoon it would have been sooty. Well done great model
Sooty and oil streaking the sides and belly. If a helicopter isn’t leaking don’t fly in it because it’s out of oil. Ex HH-3E crew chief😊.

When hovering before landing this marvellous model was literally indistinguishable from the real thing.
Actually yes. Literally no!
Beautifully flown scale model! Flown with scaled performance and maneuvers that reflect the actual aircraft. We rarely see that with the overpowered RC aircraft that are demonstrated today.
This is a stunning model, a great achievement! It was also piloted very nicely!

The panel detail alone is extraordinary! What an achievement, in both modelling and flying👋👍

Bravo. Very impressive scale model. Don’t pay attention to the donkeys picking apart the name and details, you’ve done a fantastic job.
Fully agree. I guess it was a slow day on phub and that's why a few eegits made silly inane comments about "errors". Totally churlish and from the replies they got, it seems they weren't even correct.
A work of art and a master at the controls too-very, very smooth.
When it's flying it is extremely convincing. The models in the cockpit even from a distance detracts from the otherwise amazingness.
Yellow is the best color for beauty and visibility in regards to RC helicopters.
This is exactly why I have chosen this color scheme 👍✌️🚁

spot on
Astonishing model. Never seen a more realistic model EVER.

even the sound....having worked around sea kings in the mountains,., the turbine noise is the final cherry on an awesome model!

Fantastic model, very good detail. I don't so much want it as much as to get the money it cost.
