As a beginner to the game, this video was the easiest to follow and learn the rules! Thank you :)

I have been looking for a video like this. Having you explain and call the score during actual play is so helpful. Please post more videos like this 😊

I watched so many videos and this was the only one that actually helped me to understand the rules, thanks!

Now I get it. Just started 0laying and the service rotation was confusing me. Thanks

Pickleball would be much more fun to play if a point was awarded for each point won instead of when you are serving and win the point. Similar to volleyball when the rule was finally changed to awarding a point on a serve regardless whether you are the serving team or not.

they call that rally score....I like that idea too and wouldn't be surprised to see that point system used to speed up games...also, ping pong uses the 5 serves approach per person and every serve creates a point...serve changes after 5 points and game is 21 and win by 2....maybe someday

Rally scoring is so much easier to keep track of AND to explain to newcomers. Hopefully it becomes more common and/or the standard in the future.

Is it true you can actually stand in the kitchen if you want, but you cannot hit the ball in the kitchen unless it bounces?
Not that anyone would be in good position but it wouldn't be a fault to just stand there???

Thank you for the great video, however as a new player I was taught that you start the game on the right side of the court as "0-0-Start" and not 0-0-2 as shown in the video. I think that is where I'm getting confused is because you end up as Server 1 and not Server 2 when you serve again from the right side. Am I missing something? Thanks!

I have watched at least 10 scoring vidéos but none provided an example of how to proceed if the starting team at 0-0-2 wins the point.

You can enter kitchen any time, but you can only hit ball after it bounces. You do not have wait until ball bounces to enter kitchen.

I was wondering if you could clarify the rules in doubles?
    Doubles
    4.B.6.a.
At the start of each side out, service begins in the right/even serving area.
    4.B.6.b.
When the team’s score is even (0, 2, 4 ...), the team’s starting server’s correct position is at the right/even serving area. When the team’s score is odd (1, 3, 5...), the starting server’s correct position is at the left/odd court.
While 4.B.6.a indicates service begin on the right after a side out, 4.B.6.b indicates position is based on score. Let’s say after a side out the team who gets to serve has an odd number score, does that mean the serve is on the left side?

Servers DO NOT necessarily keep their same server number throughout match (although possible) - Server 1 can become Server 2 and vice versa. Nevertheless (according to 4.B.6.a) serves will ALWAYS start from right side (EVEN) and person in that position designates themself SERVER 1.

Server one can not become server 2 during the set

This is confusing… why would you start out standing in the kitchen (like the player in blue?) Especially because of the 2 bounce rule…

Why call the server, just another layer. I play badminton no need to call server. Keep it simple.
