It's funny how this game has so many characters that weren't in the movie. Characters like Wilbur The Hog, The Zoo Hunter, The Queen Bee, The Perot, Morris The Crocodile, Big Louie The Sailor, The Jumping Frog, The King Fosa, and many others. I half to emit that is cool.
Great review! I might be biased as I played this game when I was a kid but this game was a fun time and a great little game and felt it had more heart poured in then other movie games.
Thank you! I agree- it's one of those games that stood out to me but seems to have been more or less forgotten about. Movie games have an unfairly bad reputation imo- and this was one of my favourites for PS2. Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed. :D
Wow. Toys for Bob had humble beginnings before Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Crash 4! BTW, I’m loving the channel since I discovered it yesterday thanks to Meet The Robinsons!
Don't give anyone any suggestions about the milk market. I'll have you know I invested nearly half my fortune in the Giraffe milk market and hired some giraffe milk mafia agents that can arrive at your door with a snap of the finger to rough you up at any moment. (They use petals of cabbage to rough people up). Madagascar on PS2 was probably the game I replayed the most as a kid right next to Crash 3 Warped. Ashamed that my sister had to break the game later in my teenage years. Would have been nice to still be able to see her face to this day (yeah I sent the Giraffe milk mafia after her. They don't mess around with that cabbage). Thank goodness for emulation though, cause I bought 3 more copies of Madagascar on PS2 and none of them worked on native hardware. I believe I was addicted to the game since it contained "edgy" humor and Nintendo satisfying sound effects. As in it feels and sounds satisfying when you collect a coin, an object, hit someone, or throw something. So with Article 13 (now I believe called "Article 17") looming over you. Will you be deleting any reviews with the slightest bit of copyright and reuploading them without the offending content? Cause I heard it's gonna be more like "One strike and you're off youtube" and they are implementing a copyright Ai unlike anyother that can detect a mere second of copyright material (only for Europeans, aren't you lucky). Anyways great review as always.
I am wary it will happen tbh, but I keep copies of all my videos. Without meaning to sound narcissistic, I know people do like my videos so, worst case, I'd be willing to make them all somehow available another way. Just got to get everyone following me on social media really. So yeah, I'm a bit concerned but so far, with this series, I've not had one copyright strike yet so... Fingers crossed. It's all fair use imo anyway.
@@idonthaveanose no problem I really want to see you succeed you honestly review games that are very obscure and give a lot of great insight to the game.
One thing that always annoyed me about this game was that it was one of those games where upgrades couldn't be carried over into levels before you obtained them. Alex and Marty's abilities would've been so fun to use when I was little!
I did have the GBA version of this game, and they kept the cards system, and I remember one of Melmin's moves being a double jump by sneezing I was kind of disappointed to see that it wasn't in this game too
Hahaha! At least they try to justify a double jump somehow! It's sort of creative? 😂 I don't know what they were on when they came up with the helicopter thing.
I liked madagascar 3 for the visuals, 2 was definitely my least favourite. I played this and the madagascar 2 game, both are decent games to be honest 2 is more of an open world deal while this one is a stage by stage, also i spent too much time in madagascar 1 shuffleboard
Man, your editing and sense of humour still crack me up, Kind of like an omelette-obsessed chef in a room full of eggs. Or rather, one egg (me) and a lot of such chefs (your humour). Is it just me, or did this review come very quickly after the last one? I'm not complaining at all-- it just stuck out to me.
It arrived a lot quicker than even I was expecting tbh! Especially considering it's my second longest! I love this game though, so that may have propelled it.
@@idonthaveanose That's a nice thing to hear! Funny how longer things can take shorter when they're fun to do :P I don't know what game you'll be doing next, but i hope it will be quite fun as well :)
@@idonthaveanose I see. I remember Jeff from ChannelJAL having commented on the loading times himself as well-- specifically how there's a loading time for the loading time. Also, B-Mask said in his review that the atmosphere of the game is pretty unique and kind of Disney-esque, so take your time to soak up the atmosphere whenever you can.
Yes! Haha! I noticed that with the loading screen. I actually burst out laughing when another loading screen followed. I've never experienced such a lengthy loading time on PS2, I swear. 😂
Madagascar is quite a party of a movie and the game is also unintentionally funny too. Good game growing up. I wish abilities were usable in earlier levels. I spent ages playing tiki mini-golf and shuffleboard SOOO much as a kid, was a fun and relaxing time. Nice review
@@idonthaveanose Though I'm still waiting for them to make a sequel to "The Road to Eldorado". Though if it were to happen, it would probably have to be CGI in the same way "Captain Underpants" was in CGI. In that it's still easy on the eyes.

I've got several games lined up already atm, and this has been requested. I'd like to cover it but it might be a while away. 🙂 Thanks for the request though, I'll make a note of it.
Ok,so I've noticed you do games based off of already licensed IPs. Therefore,I have a request: Scooby Doo: Unmasked for the PS2. I don't know if you would be interested in reviewing it or not,but I thought I would try & ask anyway.

see this game was a frequent rental for me back in the day, and even now as an adult i still pop it in every now and then for nostalgia
The Claw attack should've been unlocked earlier instead of when you fight the final boss
Unless I'm thinking of something else, I've played this game as a kid in my cousins' house.
