@@the_light_writer Hello! I knew the story of the song thanks to the commentators of RTVE (Spanish public television) because they said it before her performance at the Eurovision Song Contest.
They said that Maro composed this song as a tribute to her grandfather, who had recently passed away and they were really close to each other.
That's why all the verses revolve around loss, melancholy and longing (that "saudade" so characteristic of Portugal).
Here are the most representative ones:

Depois entra o acústico, com as guitarras, com uma imagem envolvente por detrás do outro ensaio ao ar livre que fizeram( já que não podem ser mais do que 6 pessoas, ficando um ambiente mais intimista. Ou imagens do Portugal que sente saudade, de despedidas e de encontros, de sentimentos e de Vida..é ao que a música transporta.

They are rooted in the same place :) Saudade, sevdah is an emotional continuum that has regional varieties (just like different dialects or languages of the same linguistic family) It is all over Mediterranean countries and even goes deeper into the continent.

First eurovision song in a long while I would listen to on normal basis, I don't think it's an eurovision winner song though people in general have bad taste sadly, but it's a winner in my heart.
ESC season has me revisiting one of my all time favorites! So calming yet so contemplative and deeply profound - obrigado Maro and crew for this eternal audio masterpiece! This stripped back version allows the guitars and those glorious vocals to soar into spiritual realm!
