4 years later and this is still the best review of the 42 out there. I loved this video! Clear presentation, asked and answered the most important questions and avoided super-personal preferences.

Now I am going to have to get the Minolta too! I can’t believe this is from 4 years ago. I recently purchased the PIXPRO AZ421, even just made a video about it, I thought it was something new, well it’s new to me lol

Recently bought a Bell&Howell B35HDZ for $25, which is identical to the Minolta here. I wasn't expecting much, compared to my Canon, Nikon and Fuji bridge cameras. This Elite Brands camera surprised me a lot! Fast startup, fast AF (for a bridge) and the metering spot-on almost all the time with very few images needing EV corrections. Color is great, too. No problems with White Balance.

I noticed some uncanny similarities between Kodak Pixpro and Minolta Pro Shot cameras like these two. In fact, the Kodak AZ652 and the Minolta MN67Z appear to be pretty much identical, with minor differences between the two (like the Minolta's 67x zoom versus the Kodak's 65x). Looks like JK Imaging and Elite brands use the same vendor to actually manufacture their cameras...

How many minutes does the rechargeable
    battery last?
Kodak FZ43 with 2 AA batteries lasted
    15-20 minutes.

Im going to Europe in 2 months. It's my 1st time there and I'm thinking about buying one of those types of cameras to take photos of the trip. Since you can't switch lenses at this tier, I'm wondering if I'm better off just using my phones cameras. I'm really divided on this one. What do you think?

Thank you again for sharing your views over the kodak pixpro az421 16mp 42x zoom bridge camera, you sound very fair and not doing it down, I have just bought the kodak pixpro az421 16mp 42x so far I am happy still playing about with the controls, I am trying not to look at more expensive cameras which do a lot more..but that is just I am referring to the old saying much wants more. usually the same when we buy a new car lol we see something better much faster and fee a little disappointed with what we have..lol but all the same I got this camera especially for my daughters wedding, and as you said both cameras are much better than a mobile phone. Last photos I took of my other daughters wedding I used a Samsung 7mega pixel camer I was happy then with the results, so I am assuming I will be more than happy with this kodak pixpro az421 16mp 42x zoom bridge camera? Anyway so I have been told it is not the camera but the person taking the photographs lol. Look forward to seeing some more reviews over this camera. Thank you again.

Generally depending on what you are doing. For photography only I personally use Scandisk extreme pro 170mb/s UHS-II
But for video I use the Scandisk extreme pro 300mb/s UHS-II.
Only major issue is the cost I pay £40ish for the 128gb 170mb/s and £100ish for the 64gb 300mb/s. So cost is a huge thing for the faster SD cards. Although I've never used Kodak cameras so I don't know if those SD cards are overkill .

    • @adrinathegreat3095

Yes but if you require a large zoom it's unbeatable, I can use my canon 1dx 111 with a 150-600 lens and a 2x converter and only reach 1200mm.
Or my 7d to get around 1600mm, but that's seriously heavy equipment and obviously more expensive.
I use a lumix fz1000 with 25-400mm equivalent lens on a 1 inch sensor, but sometimes I just take out my Fuji sl 1000 50x bridge because it's easy to carry, and works spot on in good light.
Sure the image quality isn't upto the standard of my more expensive stuff, but it fills a very useful gap.
I wouldn't take my fuji x100s or lumix lx100 if I were bird spotting or looking for long distance wildlife shots, sometimes it's a pain carrying a full frame or Apsc cameras with lenses about, especially if you are hiking up a hill and through woods, across streams etc.

I do have my Mirrorless Cam such as Sony Alpha for Serious Stuff, but for this Kodak and minolta ...... don't waste your $200 money for this junk, you can buy old used Nikon, Sony or Cannon DSLR with $200.
