Well said, Troy! Most people have no idea how much is always going on in the mind of a skipper. And needs to be, if they take their responsibilities seriously.
Yes, especially on the WA coast with its limited refuges and vast distances between them. North QLD is much easier, despite cyclones with plenty of easy day sails between islands and nice reef anchorages.
To add to the comment made by a viewer Troy about you staying put and enjoying it. After I have read the comments that some people leave I really don't think they have an idea as to the size of Australia a lot of people who live and sail in Europe and some parts of the USA. A friendly port is a matter of 20 miles away where as you said you have to look at your options in a week in advance world due to the shear size and isolation of the coast you are exploring and I am sure I speak for a lot of your viewer I find this amazing and love the way you both cope with it
We just love you two, Pascy and Troy, we're landlubbers in Oklahoma who so admire a traditional couple working together making it work. Never knew we missed the underwater video so much until we experienced the cruising lifestyle on YT, Jacque Cousteau is a long lost memory for many and completely unknown to most. God bless you.
Pascale is an amazing chef......the desserts have looked amazing and delicious. The variety of meals is better than so many restaurants. I also love the honesty and the way you teach us so many crucial pieces of information.
Skipper is in charge of the safety of crew and vessel first and foremost. The main reason I watch and support this channel. The amount of knowledge shared. Thank you both so much!
😃"It's the morning after the night before" sounds like Sven Yrwinds "now it's later than before". Nice pictures, nice explanation about anchor chain and rope!
The ningaloo reef was most beautiful an the depth of color that is the Ocean .. it's mesmerizing me beautiful thanks for taking us there I really am grateful to travel and share this with my son he absolutely loved it too! Again, thanks for sharing your lives with us... Fare winds an following sea's ✌🏼💗😊❣️
I have watched you for a longtime, along with some others, but you are reallyTHE BEST! Thank you for sharing your life with us. I wish you all the best
Congrats 200 episodes, lovely to see how well you will do in a catamaran around Australia, New Zealand, Maldivas, Seychelles, Madagascar, SouthAfrica. Will be exited, and your are a fresh couple and you will get sponsors. Just think about it. Thank you and success.
Looking forward to Pascale’s cook book. I end up scrambling to write down your recipes and troll the list of episodes to get different versions. I have some home made yogurt chilling in the fridge and tomorrow s the big try it day. Pickled fish will be the next experiment. Quite exciting and just another way to vicariously enjoy your travels.👏👏👏
I just love your videos. Congrats on reaching 200. Did you ever believe you'd reach this number when you started? The sailing and healing shots were really evocative. My Very Best, Pascal and Troy, David
Just want to thank you two for a most enjoyable video series over the last few years. You have helped keep us all well grounded with your Knowledge and happy disposition. I assume you will be getting another yacht…..what will that be I wonder? In the mean time I wish you both the best Of health and happiness cheers Tony
Maybe one day when Troy is stuck inside he can give the audience an explanation of how performance yachts can sail faster than the wind is blowing, or so I've heard. I thought that others who aren't boaties might be interested. Great to see the healthy environments, critters and colours. Thanks for the videos.
WhenI saw you throw the fins in the dinghy I actually got a smile and a little thrill, we're going diving!! (It made me laugh at myself) Thanks for another great episode! Peace and prayers.
The water here is quite murky. Whenever we see the bottom, there's about 2-3 second to the terrible rubble of grounding. Very exiting seeing you flying above the corals and sandy bottom.
I am actually drinking English Breakfast tea myself...very nice. Pascal's smile & giggle is just so infectious - I love watching....so calming what ever is happening. Thanks so much!!!
Gday from Port Stephens. Just a big thanks for all of the effort you have put in over the years, I think I actually took your log off call at MRPS when you came in with the banged up boom. Apologies for asking for the vessel spelling twice...Also thanks for the windlass hack with the plasticine, awesome ! I am the proud owner of an Austral 30, and I reckon the spectra and dyneema are the way to go as well. I hope to catch up some day out there, Cheers, Gazza. Hit me up for some honey and some lip balm if you get back over this way.
The ukulele and and the creeking and waves sounded fantastic together. I've been following you two for a long time and don't remember if Troy has played on camera before. Definitely an unexpected and welcome addition to the video.. Just for a second I felt like I was there with you .. thank you..
Every sailing video has a special title according to the boat and crew. Free Range Sailings Titles should be ... "Troys hair Doo" Ep 200 ETC. Love you guys. Thanks for the cool vids.
I see you are flying the blade on the inner stay - how about a Vlog on the sails/standing rigging and if you are still happy with all the many choices you made when the loft was fabricating. How about the sun shades and the main stacker? Is the Muir a good winch for you. Is three braid rode better for you than eight plait? is the Rocna the current best choice, what about the others such as the Mantus of the Spade? I saw a nice Pearson 33 what had a short strut in the bow to fly a reacher or zero. Is a chute still your choice? How about the solar panel choices - how many watts fits you best right now? Would you use the same water maker or buy the parts and assemble your own? If the outboard dies for good, what would be your next choice since the two strokes are not really available world wide? Thanks for the techy stuff you post. Bob in Nevada
That was great. That coral in the beach swim looked more like the full healthy coral i remember from my youth in New Guinea. A lot of the coral we sea in videos is quite beaten up. Hanging out for some sea horse footage. The heading out footage in the big waves was fun. I’m watching this on my new 48” oled display on the saloon fwd bulkhead, and it really comes to life on the big screen with totally natural color. I recommend this for your new bigger boat should you get one. Great video, thanks again!
Wait, I'm out of range (so to speak) for a little while and come back to find you're selling Mirool. After all that work! My hat's off to you for all you've accomplished. Have enjoyed sailing with you, even if only vicariously. Looking forward to more.
Aye...super important point right off the bat at 3:00 for those not familiar with long term live-a-board life. You have to be constantly aware of weather, wind, waves, and tides, and sometimes need to move often to seek shelter or at least find ideal conditions for dropping the hook. Marina life and homestead life are much different in that regard, eh?
Ffff you lured me into hit the like button with the planning and then drop the /tea with cream/ !? lol, Enjoy! Loving all your videos and your approach to life. Good luck selling the boat and with your future endeavours. Much love!
Thank You for 200 Episodes! Informative, smile and/or laugh inducing, most importantly, inspiring videos! Congratulations Troy and Pascale! (And NOW I am inspired to go soak some dried fruit in cherry brandy for a fruitcake!)
I’ve been watching you guys now for ages and gave me the push I needed to buy my own boat. I’m subscribed to probably 30 + sailing channels but you are by far my favourite…when the notification comes through I watch it as soon as I can and skip the other new videos to watch yours first…great channel with great sailing and really informative, I will definitely be implementing some of your setup on my boat…when our winter ends here in the U.K. Australia looks like an awesome place to sail. Well done and keep it going…looking forward to see what boat you will go with next…whoever buys Marool will get a gem👍🏼
Have to tell you, I really admire your hard dodger, it looks production, only probably much better built. And leaving your framing was a great idea as a crash bar and hand hold. Well done!
Loved the montage and song from 22:22. You nailed the sound mix which made the visual experience quite poetic. A touch of Bernard Moitessier, nice one.
What a beautiful episode. Beautiful blue water and skies. Clear water. Great sailing. Troy with his music. Lecture on anchoring. You guys do a great job. Thanks.
Hard day at work outside in -20C weather here in eastern Canada. Come home to this! You two are the best, let the girl sleep in you miser! Nice desert Pasqui! lol
Beautiful sail guys and beautiful weather forecasting from the Captain and First Mate‼️👏🏻 Good to see Pascale's smile, even in rough weather. Never saw what happened to the fruit cake 🤷🏻♂️✌🏻️ Seer you next week. ✨🌊💨💨💨⛵️🏝👙🌞✨
Lovely reef footage. Like the shoals of dive buddies! My mother used to make a fruit cake with fruit steeped in earl grey tea. I can taste it now! Thanks as ever.
Congratulations on the 200th episode! I really look forward to your videos. They are my favorite sailing videos. Sitting here watching the Olympics in my FRS hoodie, it finally got cold enough on the Texas Gulf Coast to wear it, and wondering where FRS is going after you sell your boat.
I really like the colour saturation you get in your video. Along with great definition and camerawork it's the best looking show in my sailing channel habit.
I very nearly missed you saying the vessel is up for sale. I suppose I missed something along the way. I've certainly enjoyed not only watching you two sailing her, but also the awesome rebuild job. Looking forward to seeing what is next.
Enjoyed every minute of this video. Brilliant production and editing.Good to see Mirool honking along with a coupla tucks in the main Reminds me of my sailing days in NZ and the Whitsundays. Fair winds and friendly seas! Thanks
This episode is a perfect example of why we believe you are the splendid hosts to the best sailing channel on youtube. Many Thanks.

Lovely people: good sailors, divers, honest and humble

Photography, editing, swimming and diving, the reef, the baking whatever, whatever. SIMPLY AWESOME. Thank you.
Congratulations on 200 episodes. Each one better than the last. Cheers to 200 more.
Even the Leyland Brothers only made 156 episodes.
Pascale is an amazing chef......the desserts have looked amazing and delicious. The variety of meals is better than so many restaurants. I also love the honesty and the way you teach us so many crucial pieces of information.

Nice pictures, nice explanation about anchor chain and rope!
OK I figured it out, Pascale is the Mona Lisa of you tube sailing . And Troy is a very lucky man. What a gret team of sailors . Thank you.
When you all sell your boat I hope your planning on getting another one, really like watching yall learn alot from yall.
Love your natural channel folks, no frills, just doing ‘it’
Your choice of music is getting better and better, Pascale! All the best to you two!

Great to give a feel for the passage planning considerations! We sailors all know those feels … ⛵️👍🏼💯🎉🤣
You guys have a wonderful collective attitude, getting on with it, working together. Keep it up!
Whew. Some of that wore me out, too. My hat is off to you two.
My name is Troy too. It's great to see at least one Troy living the dream...🤣
Looking forward to Pascale’s cook book. I end up scrambling to write down your recipes and troll the list of episodes to get different versions. Best Amchoring lesson ever Troy thank you. Keep your videos coming. Best sailing channel on the net.👍
What an impressive yacht the Clansman is. Mirrool seems overjoyed in the wind and waves. Like yourselves. Mostly. 😊
What's the saying? Many a fine tune on an old fiddle....
I just love your videos. Congrats on reaching 200. Did you ever believe you'd reach this number when you started? The sailing and healing shots were really evocative. My Very Best, Pascal and Troy, David
That companionway tune on the uke sounded a lot like claw hammer style banjo playing. Nicely done.
Just want to thank you two for a most enjoyable video series over the last few years. You have helped keep us all well grounded with your
Knowledge and happy disposition. I assume you will be getting another yacht…..what will that be I wonder? In the mean time I wish you both the best

Wild around the 4 minute mark there, I just know the camera wouldn't have been doing those waves justice, great episode legends, Cheers

Thanks for the videos.
I couldn't do it justice
WhenI saw you throw the fins in the dinghy I actually got a smile and a little thrill, we're going diving!! (It made me laugh at myself) Thanks for another great episode! Peace and prayers.
A good book relating the joys and pitfalls of sailing the west coast of Australia is "Sheila in the wind" by Adrian Hayter.....A good read!
First time I’ve heard you play the ukulele Troy, sounded great. The last time was cool. The fruit cake looked amazing Pesky!

Love the casual uke when it's on :-) One boat is cruising two is a race. Well done!
Wow. One of the most realistic depictions of sailing I've seen yet. I'm no sailor and my stomach was...

We have covered quite a few of those. We tried viewer question videos but not enough people watched them to justify the extra work they take to make.
Congratulations on your 200th episode!! Always look forward to the next one, informative, interesting and enjoyable! Cheers n beers. 🌹🍷🌹🍷

I am now working on the episodes from the beginning..... Nice to se here in the Norwegian winter.

Troy's hair proved to be a weathervane for the conditions.
I always wanted to live there. Everything is so amazing. Love your dives.
Ok this is message number 20 of " I want Free Range Sailing to come to South Australia" campaign
Cheers
Matt

I didn’t know you played Troy, nice to hear!
Loved the montage and song from 22:22. You nailed the sound mix which made the visual experience quite poetic. A touch of Bernard Moitessier, nice one.
Greetings from Germany and Good Night my friend
I really enjoy all sailing vids. What you say about tech in cruising Assie is still a thing in all sailboats.
What a beautiful episode. Beautiful blue water and skies. Clear water. Great sailing. Troy with his music. Lecture on anchoring. You guys do a great job. Thanks.
i love your channel , Pascale keeps getting more beautiful and troy i love the knowledge you put out its great. thank you
Ok, Episode 200, and now Troys musical talents are revealed.
Hard day at work outside in -20C weather here in eastern Canada. Come home to this! You two are the best, let the girl sleep in you miser! Nice desert Pasqui! lol
+34°C here in Queensland.
@@philgray1023 Ha, methinks that is just as bad! Much over +25 and I hate that too! At least with the cold, you can always warm up! :)
Epic footage and love the longer vids. Could watch hours happily.
Really, really enjoyed your musical selection while snorkeling on the reef from the beach!
I hand out whiskey cake to friends at Christmas. It's an epic time consumer. Looked awesome.
Beautiful sail guys and beautiful weather forecasting from the Captain and First Mate‼️👏🏻 Good to see Pascale's smile, even in rough weather. Never saw what happened to the fruit cake 🤷🏻♂️✌🏻️ Seer you next week. ✨🌊💨💨💨⛵️🏝👙🌞✨
Thank you, another great one. That’ cake looked amazing, hope it was as good as it tasted.
Good as Gold, always!
Lovely reef footage. Like the shoals of dive buddies! My mother used to make a fruit cake with fruit steeped in earl grey tea. I can taste it now! Thanks as ever.
Hi Troy & Pascale, great video, your cake looked fantastic I it tasted lovely. All the best from the UK.
Troy, you are as impressive on the Ukulele as you are at the helm!
nice sailing guys. challenging. lets hope there's some restful days ahead to make up for your hard work. :)
That was some really Nautical sailing. You two aught to be a pair of salted cods after that run LOL !!!
Amazing! Looks like the Maldives, but so much more pristine!

You're moving on. Such an accomplishment by you both. Thank you for the beautiful and informative videos over the pandemic.
Well, that was a little bit of everything this week. A lovely ride along for us. Sure the sea wandering life has worn thin for you?
Great video. Get some rest...............
How can I miss people I've never met???
Hanging out for each episode seem a little tragic 😁
Wa is a lot like here in Northern California endless days of 25 to 30 knots with gust to 40
more Troy playing music, please! maybe with some Pascale singing? come one, you can do it!
Troy, for next time, I would like to request some Acca Dacca, please.

best wishes from the other side of the world... winter, storm and snow... ;-)
Really good episode. You guys are great to watch.
Nice one Troy, very chilled.

You make things so simple, so beautiful!! De très belles images!!
