Peter is a master of layering voices this video was 120+ layers. Tim and Peter have collaborated on many many songs all worth checking out. Home Free just released the first video with their new high tenor Adam Bastien the song is Something To Talk About ( Bonnie Raitt cover )
Beautiful Maddy. I have not heard these people before. This was very interesting to hear. I like that you react to music that isn’t the same thing that’s constantly playing on the radio.
Peter is a master at layering. He has covered all of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings songs. (alone and with others) His cover of the Skyrim theme with violinist Lindsey Sterling is a great watch! ( You can tell they were having fun making the video.) He does covers of several of the Elder Scroll songs with fellow acapella artist Malukah that are very old style Bardic.
There is an extremely high voice in a couple of places that was done by Peter's wife. Tim & Peter have collaborated on several songs including "The Sound of Silence" which is definitely worth listening to.
Awesome song. How does Tim reach that last note? Here are two suggestions for you. Maybe I can donate at some point in the future, but these two are very much a part of the 60's. "Get Together" followed by "Darkness Darkness" by the Youngbloods. You will see and relate to these and when put in juxtaposition they show the two sides of the human experience. Be on the look out for the line "When the one who left us here, returns for us at last". 😇Peace and love to all.
This is my favorite version of this song. The contrast in voices is beautiful. Peter in the higher tenor ranges & then paired with the true natural bass voice of Tim. And that last dragon's breath note is truly remarkable & how long he sustains it. Peter is a master at layering voices. I think this one is about 120 layers. Peter & Tim have collaborated on quite a few other songs & they are all beautiful. "Sound Of Silence", "Bridge Over Troubled Water", "Greensleeves", "Fire & Rain", "Sunshine On My Shoulders", "Teach Your Children", "You Can Close Your Eyes", "And So It Goes", "Blackbird", "You've Got A Friend".
Great reaction, Maddy! Their voices blend very well together. As a couple others have mentioned, Home Free just released their first song with their new singer (Austin has left the band). You may want to check it out.
This song was in the movie The Hobbit, An Unexpected Journey. So, you were right on with saying it was Lord of the Ringish.
The words are right out of Tolkien's work.
Except for "Ish", of course

Geoff Castelucci's cover of this song is also amazing.

Peter and Tim were in a group together eons ago, so they have about 20 years of experience with each other's voice to fall back on.
All of the various voices were vocalized by only Tim and Peter.
There have been several collaborations between Tim and Peter.

@@PaulGuy I remember one where they mentioned Thor. Zeppelin has so much greatness!
There are videos on UA-cam of Tim Foust destroying the speakers with a low note...
