For what it's worth I think many of the well-known so-called top players play with some part of the tce system in place whether that's done by analysis and understanding or some kind of natural process. Thanks for bringing up the connection between Jerry and Andre as well as Thibaud. I think many aspects of the system have infiltrated into the pedagogy through various means without most knowing where these elements came from. I think Jerry himself would most likely point to information coming from the early cornet soloists. To my knowledge he just Unearthed what had been lost and then reorganized it into an effective clear system. There are those out there who seem adamantly stubborn about not wanting to know how to play and insist on trusting that to some unknown unconscious mechanism. For me that's working from the outside in. To me this makes no sense when a pathway to efficiency is clearly available for every conscious thinking player who wants to improve and remove limitation on a physical level.

It’s not immediately obvious in a quick search. There are clips from that video one UA-cam but I’ll have a look at see if I can find the bit I mentioned.

Here is a video of Maurice Andre where he demonstrates his sound production. He studied under Sabarich. Tongue forward. Almost a spit attack. ua-cam.com/video/ZD7cpVWeoGM/v-deo.html

Do you know what "evidence" means? Because I'll tell you one thing that video doesn't have... "I use TCE" - Maurice Andre.

@@explodingsausage6576 TCE as a system had not been developed when he gave that interview, and I never claimed he used it. Maurice played the way Sabarich taught him.

I know Luis Dowdeswell is using. Tongue controlled…playing..

A lot of people think they’re doing “tongue controlled… playing…” but their model of how everything works is incorrect. Although we have the term “tongue controlled embouchure” it is actually much more complex than a three letter acronym, as I’m sure you can gather. I do have thoughts on the subject of how it looks like Louis plays, but I wouldn’t guess without a more in-depth conversation with him. When I try to define if someone “uses TCE” it all starts with them saying it first…

This is borderline laughable, the argument of 'so and so might use TCE' has been uttered by many a TCE supporter, but it's anecdotal nonsense that bears no weight whatsoever. TCE is a one-size-fits-all approach to brass playing, no matter how many times its supporters say it's not, and doesn't take into account the vast differences in anatomy between players; this is why the percentage of users who actually use it to some standard is amazingly low, given how apparently 'miraculous' the method is.

Thank you for taking the time to watch my videos. I genuinely appreciate it.
Obviously your comment only focuses on responding to the title as you haven’t addressed any of the points that I made whilst talking for nearly 40 minutes. What you have responded to is the hearsay that I also happen to disagree with. You would know this if you watched more of my videos.
I believe in teaching people universal principles based upon a sound understanding and demonstrable results. You’re welcome to disagree with this approach, as many do.
If you’re genuinely not interested then I would recommend that you don’t waste any more of your time on this matter. For what it’s worth, I don’t think anybody has claimed TCE to be miraculous. What works is study, practice and the willingness to change.
