That's a nice one, well done on finding it. Swivel seat, smaller fuel tank, low air cleaner and rerouted exhaust all point to a life on a forestry trailer, that may explain the good condition of the link arms too.
Your 1200 is an early one, note the cartridge engine oil filter. That changed at engine 354AU44894 to a canister type, ie screw on. Other engine changes, block and crankshaft to accommodate rear engine oil seal (REOS) change from rope type to lip seal at 354UA48969. Rocker cover breather pipe changed from crooked to straight pipe at 354UA42212. This upgrade included changes to sump mounting hardware. Changed to fuel injection pump drive at 354UA44193. Engine oil lubricating pump piping and hardware change at tractor serial R901988. Inlet manifold gaskets upgraded at 354UA61963. The brake changes from dry to wet cut in at tractor serial number 900952. This included casting changes to accomodate MKIII hydraulics. There were lots of other changes during the production run, all carried over to the 1250. Looking at your tractor looks like somebody painted the engine red, would need engine and tractor serial number to confirm that it has an original engine. Numerous 1200/1250's went into forestry, rotating seat, fuel tank cut to improve leg room when seat swivelled or tank removed rearward. As you say not a problem. DAFFY DAVE, DAVE THE JOINER is the man to talk go about parts, exhaust, engine side panels, check and stabiliser chains, he taks cheques, debit, credit cards, cash or you can help Penny to work off any debt 😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you Graham for taking the time to provide such a comprehensive and detailed history. When I get a chance I will send you the engine number and the serial number and I’d be very grateful if you could confirm if it’s original engine. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
@FlyingFergyMan no problem, as and when. Your tractor is also missing the rear light stalls, Dave makes these as well. My 1200 #401 bought in Denmark was complete except for rear light stalks and bought them from Dave. Working with Dave, go establish a WWW site for all things 1200/1250. Christmas done and dusted here, Sweden use the 24th as their big day. Today 25th is recovery day from over eating. Enjoy your Christmas.
Hi Graham engine nr is 372ua2985 and L900335FG for serial number. Don’t think that’s the original engine. Believe it’s out of a combine as it has the flat sump.
@ajvaack l am a 1200/1250 Nerd. First drove one as a teenager and filleted fir years. Plan with Davecto set up a dedicated www site for 1200/1250's. Dave, well Penny will explain later in the year.
I worked in Jutland Denmark in 95,96,97, just outside horsens, mixed farming,we had a 1200 with duel wheels back and front,I used it ploughing, one field was so steep my feet had to be braced against windscreen going down! Amazing tractor to have driven, best wishes with it 👍👍👍
Your 1200 is an early one at 330. Definately had a heart transplant, an A6.372 at 6090 cc out of an MF620/MF625/MF750 Combines. These were rated at cir 118/120hp. As well as being bored out they were fueled to run at maximum revs. Major differences if l remember correctly were liners, crankshaft, crankshaft hardening method, pistons, rings were the main differences. Also should have an auxiliary drive take off at the FIP. Engibexwill work OK. Hope this helps
Merry Christmas to you and your family. I’m ever so slightly jealous I’d love a 1200 myself your one looks fairly good in its working clothes. Love all these articulated tractors and of course the county’s and roadless tractors I’d like one of each in an ideal world. Look forward to seeing this one restored to its former glory.👍
I know Andrew heath comes from uttoxeter. Been dealing in farm machinery for years. I sold him my MF 3070 4 wheel drive .back in 1996 . Not a patch on my MF 698 .
Super stuff, nice straight looking tractor.. Well done finding it. Looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for it. Hope you had a great Christmas, happy new year...🎉
Thanks Graham that’s very good and relevant information. My tacho is not connected but reading 7k hours. Would seem to suggest that original engine gave out a this time.
Only discovered your channel a few months back and I'm really enjoying your videos, the 1200 looks to be a fairly honest looking machine, well done on getting it and merry Christmas to you and your family.
I’ve just subscribed I worked for a contractor in the late 80s had 2 1250s that still got put to work I’ve unfortunately no photos of them eventually a dealer bought them both I do have photos of the rest of the MF fleet 4x 3080s and a 3630.
Wow you must have been a good lad!😆. She’s definitely a tidy looking rig, with a bit of love she’ll be cracking. I’m not sure they’re that rare now, like buses, there’s a few on YT now 😆. Merry Xmas and happy new year to you and the family
Marry Christmas to you, 🎄 and congratulations on your 1200, your right about Massey Dave, he does sterling work on his restoration's and there's of course Cowfarmerdan should you needed any advice very knowledgeable, (still VERY jealous of your 3095 Dan !!) All in all thank you for the video.🙂
Great video it’s a lovely machine Massey Dave is the man for them he is an absolute genius the work he does is unbelievable a perfectionist I’m like you live beside the sea all my tractors have to be kept inside or there would be nothing left of them I hope you and your family have a great Christmas
Hi i had a trailer like your blue one on the council for over 41 years doing a lot cemetery work pulled by massey 365 2 wheel drive trailer had a lot work done 2 it over the years all ways a good trailer and strong
Just subscribed. Congratulations on your 1200. Santa brought me one last Christmas 😂. She looks like a decent one. You'll get great satisfaction out of doing the few jobs on it. Massey Dave is the man. Hope you have sent on the serial number and location to him. He's putting together a register of the 1200/1250's that are left. The engine looks to have been painted at some stage?? Looking forward to seeing more of it 👍
Thanks Eamon. I wish I had more info on it, someone has been at it with a paint brush alright. Yes sent Massey Dave the serial number and location. Merry Christmas.
@@FlyingFergyMan give me paint over rust anyday. Mine is the same, someone was at it with a paintbrush in a previous life but its all part of its history. Also I put some new parts on it which I sprayed before fitting but it tells its story. I think the very early ones had no indicators or dash lights but most of them had. They changed from dry to wet brakes in the mid 70's I think 🤷♂️
youd want to get a hold of Massey Dave as he is trying to build a record of what machines is left, also worth chatting with Derek Steward farmer Phils father he is rebuilding a 1200 at the moment
Hi Derek, its really only for adding to the collection and wont be used as an everyday tractor. In the 70's it was a big tractor but we have tractors on the farm now much bigger than the 1200 in size and power. Happy Christmas
She actually looks very straight, best of luck with her she’s in good hands now. Happy Christmas 🎄
Thanks Adrian. Happy Christmas to you and the family.
He’s joined an illustrious club now..
Hay I really love you ❤😊

Thanks Dan. I think you are right, it would seem to have been in the forestry trade at some stage. Happy Christmas to you and your family.
