    I just ordered one of these dual steering damper kits so finding an instruction video that clearly describes each step of the install with excellent camera angles is a great help. Murphy's Law is far less likely to be a concern when I get ready to add that second steering damper strut to my '04 Jeep WJ. Fantastic ending to the video clip by the way.

    Loved the ending; It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a fricken rocket, no, it's a JEEP.

    With that set up you're going to be like speed bumps and potholes don't phase me.

    First thanks for making this video. I was under my Jeep and seen the steering stabilizer was broke. I’m going to try this kit out!

    Thanks for the video! Been chasing a new death wobble on my WJ for 6mos and going to try this to hopefully eliminate it for good.

      This kit will definitely help reduce steering shimmy but still recommend chasing down the root problem of the death wobble.
      Checklist starting with wheel hubs, ball joints and tie rod ends..

      It was the sticker that did it.

    Did you have any issues with the trackbar bolt rubbing against the stabilizer's bracket?

    Is there anyway you could show us the inlet and outlet of the heater core hoses?

    Loosening the trac bar doesn’t mess with alignment? (I’m still learning,) looks straight forward, but I just paid $176 for an alignment and realign the trac bar.

      @FastestIntegra  3 роки тому +2

      No loosening that bolt is not going to throw your alignment off.
      If you have a stock track bar or a adjustable track bar it's still not going to affect anything because you're not changing the geometry or length the track bar.

    Does that take care of the death wobble?

    • @FastestIntegra
      @FastestIntegra  2 роки тому +3

      It's kind of like a Band-Aid it will only help reduce the problem.
      From my experience death wobble is generally from a worn-out part that needs to be replaced wheel hubs, ball joints, tie rod ends etc.
      What's a duel steering dampener does help with is oversized tires and when you hit a bump your steering wheel doesn't really jerk out of your hand. It also reduces stress on the rest of the steering system.

    I have a dual steering stabilizer on my wj.. can i add this kit as you did with the drag link? will it make the steering heavy?

    • @FastestIntegra
      @FastestIntegra  2 роки тому +2

      Yes you can add it and it will definitely make your steering more heavy but you don't need it because you already have a dual kit.
      If you want more clearance around your axle you can remove the lower stabilizers and only run the Iron Rock Offroad stabilizer kit.

    what is the purpose of dual steering

    • @FastestIntegra
      @FastestIntegra  3 роки тому +4

      Many lifted WJ's have steering problems due to larger tire sizes and "non-stock" steering geometry.
      If your daily driver is vibrating a little bit then you can probably get away with a single stabilizer. If you do a lot of heavy off roading or put heavy duty accessories on your truck like winches or snow plows you would probably benefit from a dual steering stabilizer.

      Reduces any kind of bump steer and or death wobble.

      The WJ was the first of the 90's Jeeps to finally have really good steering. Steering dampers are there to prevent a bump on one wheel from jerking the steering wheel out of your hands and reduce load on the power steering. The problems you mentioned are most likely due to loose steering components.

    • @markcarpenter3600

      This may be a very good place to move the steering stablizer. The original placement of the steering stablizer is susceptible to trail damage.
      Make sure your track bar and draglink have the same angle. They don't have to be directly on top of each other, but need to be similar in length and have the same angle. The IRO dropped pitman arm kit brings things back to the factory position, but the draglink interfered with the front differential on my 4" lift. I'm looking for an adjustable draglink with the factory curve above the differential. Be aware that with a dropped pitman arm you need to constantly check the shaft nut for looseness, it will back out.
