Ferguson's show had to have been the first in history to contain absolutely NO discourse about anything relevant to the guests and still had MORE entertainment value than all other shows... not that that's hard, but still.
This interview is exactly what I was expecting from these two. If you're actually familiar with Moran's work, you'd know that he's always like this. He's not going to laugh out loud a lot and act all jolly. That doesn't mean that he had a problem with Craig's interviewing.
I’ve never seen him any different than how he is here. Same when acting, same when doing standup, same when doing any interview lol. It’s just him, he’s very sarcastic, deadpan type of humor, I love it!
Dylan: Are you a little bit more afraid of bees now? A bee and a shark... Craig: A bee riding on a shark across the waves coming toward you. Dylan: Making a shark b-line towards you.
They just clicked for each other, but then remembered that other people were watching so they had to tone it down to be less bizarre than they were prepared to let it become. Fuck, those two are awesome.
That's what I saw too. I have close friends that I can play that weird, straight faced kind of humor with and other people find it strange but we're having a riot. I could see the mirth in their eyes the whole time. It was great.
Dylan Moran is well known for being hard to interview, he just goes off on tangents and questions the interviewer until they give up. Craig knows this, he's no fool, just decides to go with the flow and play along.
@@olavrell Yea that's different though. This is a tv talkshow with limited time, obviously the interview with no cameras and no real time limit is going to delve into more cool shit. You're not wrong though, it's a good one.
This is one of Ferguson's moves. Promises not to talk about x, seems to change subject, then immediately makes it about x. or bees, as the case may be.
Yeah, in every other interview I've seen him in you can almost see him thinking, Oh christ, I have to sit here and answer these stupid questions, mainly about Pierce Brosnan and try and make it funny. 😂 Not this one.
This is the reason I watched Craig as often as possible. He and Dylan just winged it. Bees have wings. Tiger don't. Thank go... better not say anymore.
A masterpiece of absurd comedy. Although it did take them a few minutes to synch, but if they had a bit more time it would have been even better. It is improv after all, and you need time to figure out the other person, but still a wonderful interview.
actually humour is one of the things that we humans share worldwide. the humor sense varies more from one person to another than between countrys. I'm south american and have found this very funny.
Thats why I love this show. Rather than talking about how great the movie is..how great the crew was...they talked about bee riding on shark and getting bitten twice and getting stung at the same place😂
Okay, so I've watched a few Dylan Moran shows before and I have to confess it's not really my thing BUT yeah, awkward and bitty is his style of humour and many people can't get enough of it. This interview seemed really uncomfortable at first but eventually I saw they were both enjoying it. A Scot and an Irishman...talking about the killers of the sky (bees), ocean (sharks), and land (Tigers, when lions aren't around...). Actually, I think Craig probably enjoyed this different reaction style!
I'm not gonna lie, in my head Dylan Moran lives in a different *universe* as Craig, I never thought they'd be in the same room. Craig said his name wrong.
Helen Rovba he didn’t break him at all!!! they both knew what was going on - well sort of. and Craig knew what to do - he just let go. great show! so different!
it's a shame they didn't know eachother in the UK. this is like an old partership the way they played off eachother. half of me says: " where the hell is this going?" and the other half says: " this is brilliant!"
Ferguson's show had to have been the first in history to contain absolutely NO discourse about anything relevant to the guests and still had MORE entertainment value than all other shows... not that that's hard, but still.
Man, I fucking love Dylan Moran. This is such a fantastic interview.
People who are saying this is awkward just don't understand their style of comedy, this is one of the funniest interviews I've ever seen.
also one of the more clever interviews out there :)
It's one of the most hilarious interviews that one can see. 2 comedians are jamming here. 😂😂😂😂
Seriously Hilarious!
@Clairvoyante Who is Dylan Byrne?
Very awkward!
So an Irishman and a Scotsman walk in a bar..
They would try n drink each other under the table to assert dominance.
... the bar will soon be dry
They needed Michael Sheen there as a buffer.
They see a coaster saying «Drink Canada Dry» and they give it a shot.
One of them says "Ouch" the other replies " I was gonna say that".
this interview is out of control and i love it
"The thing about fear, is that it's frightening."
"It's TERRIFYING. Sometimes."
This fucking banter. I can't take it XD
This interview is exactly what I was expecting from these two. If you're actually familiar with Moran's work, you'd know that he's always like this. He's not going to laugh out loud a lot and act all jolly. That doesn't mean that he had a problem with Craig's interviewing.
Doctor Thaddeus Bodog Sivana he stayed in his stage persona I dont know whether that is polite or disrespectful.
It actually fits quite well with Ferguson's interviewing style, because he goes off on similar tangents.
I’ve never seen him any different than how he is here. Same when acting, same when doing standup, same when doing any interview lol. It’s just him, he’s very sarcastic, deadpan type of humor, I love it!
Have you seen Black Books?
@@carlosnavarro1091 Yes and it is better than this interview

"Remember when you use to enjoy things?
"Oh back in the day, now I just have awards to fill my emptiness"
LMAO
I've always wondered what a conversation between patients would be like in a psychiatric hospital. I wonder no longer.
This entire interview felt like an old Monty Python sketch! Absolutely precious!
They both grew up on Python.
Best interview EVER.
sean craine The Ricky Gervais interview was also hilarious.
this is the most delightfully awkward thing I've ever seen
Dylan Moran is The Man Of My Life. A shame he hasn't been told about it, because i am getting tired of waiting. I don't know, you know.
Me too!!
Masterclass of comedy improvisation :)
These two need to do a show together. They play off each other so beautifully and effortlessly.
This Craig Ferguson is quite the witty chap. I could swear he was actually tripping. Dynamite chemistry with Dylan Moran.
Dylan Moran is well known for being hard to interview, he just goes off on tangents and questions the interviewer until they give up.
Craig knows this, he's no fool, just decides to go with the flow and play along.
Marc Maron's interview with Dylan Moran is a really good one.

ayup
It's almost like a competition of wits, the whole Stephen King bit was just back and forth, every new joke beating the last.
You've almost hit the nail on the head, sure it's not a battle of the Brits but a battle of wit, with every new joke beating the last as you've said.
Sean Smurfy Moran is not a Brit!
You're telling me? Preaching to the choir buddy, preaching to the choir.@Steven McLoughlin
No bother Smurphy!
Monkey Island!...love it 😁
Professional absurdist geniuses these 2. They basically talked about absolutely nothing. I wish there was more of em together.
This is the most intelligent conversation I've ever heard!
I like how they are positioned corresponding to Ireland and scotland geography
Love this interview. Dylan Moran and Craig Ferguson are great together. Dylan can make anything funny and Craig just goes along with it.
Dylan Moran confusing the hell out of Craig Ferguson: pure brilliance.
This man right here made one of the funniest sitcoms ever - Black Books. So, he knows a thing or two about comedy.
omg I'm in tears LOL
"Those movements. stop it. no"
you can make other movements not those movements
This isn't awkward it's amazing comedy
I thought as a Scotsman Craig would be able to pronounce Moran
Me, too. Also, has he never heard it said?
@TheForging545 oh? what does that accent sound like?
A BEE WOMB FILLED WITH CHEESE HOW DOES HE COME UP WITH IT
Improvised comedy at its best. Bravo!
D is a smart guy, just keeps quiet and waits for the interviewer to do his job
Dylan Moran would be a smashing, drunk, bee loving, shark riding prime minister..
I can imagine him doing 4 of those things.
Dylan Moran is a *master* of absurdist humor.
Oh this is wonderful - only truly great comics can do this off the cuff stuff - love Dylan!
One of the best interviews ive ever seen, amazingly wonderfully awkward. Well played by both guys
This is the longest (and most entertaining) conversation about nothing, I have ever heard.
You can see him tearing up the cards implying they are going to just talk unlike many guests who need prep. I enjoy this
😭😭🤣🤣🤣 this is the funniest driest interview and I’m living for it 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Wish their was more black books
black books matter!
very colourful comment
'there'
That half-smile on Moran's face at 6:20 is the closest to breaking I've ever seen him
This dialogue is how I imagine two halves of a comedian's brain talking to each other.
bitten, clawed, bitten again and then stung in bitten areas omg that had me crying in laughter
I love both Dylan and Craig, never thought I would see them together... and I also happen to love Stephen King books... what a strange conversation
I would absolutely read a thousand pages about a bee written by Stephen King
This is one of Ferguson's moves. Promises not to talk about x, seems to change subject, then immediately makes it about x. or bees, as the case may be.
What happens when you get two very funny men, whose humor tends to be a little..blue.. and put them together on public television.
"This" is the best answer I can give you (assuming you were asking a question...without a question mark)
One of the best interviews, well what can you expect its the great Dylan Moran after all
Why did they play the music from Pointless?
Exactly what I thought!
Oh god that was incredible. I'm crying tears of laughter.
what do you mean awkward? its quite possible this was improv, if it was, then this is absolutely amazing
Classic Moran
Best interview I've ever seen ever
Classic. Love Dylan Moran. Am re watching Black Books on UA-cam now. Loved it when it was broadcast all those years ago.
the highest level of absurd!
This is representative of my permanent mental state
The greatest interview with anyone ever!!!
This is the only interview where Dylan is actually enjoying it.
Yeah, in every other interview I've seen him in you can almost see him thinking, Oh christ, I have to sit here and answer these stupid questions, mainly about Pierce Brosnan and try and make it funny. 😂
Not this one.
Two heavyweights sparring. Dylan connected a solid hook there at 5:03, Craig was stunned and needed a moment.
This is the reason I watched Craig as often as possible. He and Dylan just winged it. Bees have wings. Tiger don't. Thank go... better not say anymore.
some incredible riffing here from two comedy greats!
Two of my favourite stand up comedians XD
This is the weirdest interview I've ever seen, LOL. Dylan clearly loves making everyone uncomfortable.
I ate all your bees!
Beads?!
@@mattrandazzo132 BEES!?!
To be fair, when it comes to honey bees, they are the ultimate example of "this is going to hurt me more than it will hurt you".
I love the absurd things he’s able come up with. “A bee’s….womb”
And I really want to read a Stephen King book about a bee
Every conversation in an Irish or Scottish pub at the beginning of the night. 😄
fucking genius, i laughed so hard.
"A Bee riding a shark" had me rolling.
Best interview ever
This is amazing. Best interview ever

Guess you have to be Irish or Scots to get this. laughed so hard my fur baby ran away. would have been great to have a Welsh celebrity there too....
+Clarissa Gafoor As a dane I think it come down to if you know Moran or Ferguson or not :)
or just like absurdism

This is awesome. Two of my favs together
It’s hysterical and a brilliant study in timing
Oh how I love these two! So brilliant.
Two legends 💜
Both are my favorite, what a crossover
A battle of whits! 😅
This was more random than shooting a 12-gauge off a merry-go-round

Most people just don't get it. Fortunately the number of us who do is more than enough to pack global comedy houses for three decades.
I'm not gonna lie, in my head Dylan Moran lives in a different *universe* as Craig, I never thought they'd be in the same room.
Craig said his name wrong.
If you've seen a bit of both guys, this is exactly what you will expect. Brilliant! Lol

Did they just play him on with the Pointless theme?
I feel like I watched two chatbots talking for eight minutes.
this is monty python metro version lol, epic
Dylan broke Craig)) I guess he's one of the most remarkable guests on the show)
Helen Rovba he didn’t break him at all!!! they both knew what was going on - well sort of. and Craig knew what to do - he just let go. great show! so different!
The best thing ive seen for a while
Dylan Moran's style is hugely reminiscent of Robin Williams. Stream of consciousness free fall.
it's a shame they didn't know eachother in the UK. this is like an old partership the way they played off eachother. half of me says: " where the hell is this going?" and the other half says: " this is brilliant!"
Mike Franzusan perfect - couldn’t have described it better. no, really couldn’t - i’m lousy at that stuff. but Mike, you got it down. :} 😼
And on top of that Dylan even lives in Scotland as his wife is Scottish
I love this. It's stream of consciousness brilliance.
They troll each other so brilliantly.
The only man I would trust to write the next installment of The Hitchhiker's Guide.
Bee's womb!! :D And then after a moment of thinking about it, I realise that in my language, these two words are exactly the same: méh méh :)
The only thing missing from this joke is the Englishman
😅
Silliest interview ever and I Love it!
Two guys taking the piss out of each other. I love it!
Imagine the off-screen conversations these two brains could come up with? Sensational!
I love them both. I went to a live taping of the Late Late show once! Craig Ferguson is very cool. He's more handsome in person. :)
i wish this interview had never ended
