  • A few invasions, lots of cursing, and a game crash! Behold the glory of stealth gone wrong! Sneaking, explosions, personal injury claims, and shooty action as I plod through Mission 7: Secret Weapons!
As with all of my Sniper Elite 5 playthroughs, I attempt stealth but am not strictly limited to it, so open engagements may and (often do) occur!

I haven't had a chance to play the game yet but had to tell you, your shooting reminded me of me over 40 years ago, lol. I guess it's why I love these stealth shooter games. I've never been shot at, all the time as a sniper. Cross hairs on target, pull the trigger. Was on lone by the State Dept. to help out this village where the women were being kidnapped and taken across border. Never did this village ever have a women return. I had my team stay in camp while I did some Intel recovery and found a narrow tunnel of site between limbs and vines and hacked out a spot on top of this big bolder jutting out from the mountain side just down from the top with crossing the border into NK. Was bright and early and had my crosshairs on the Commanders front door at about an 80 degree angle, perfect line of site at about 6 in the morning . He came out the door with his Lieutenant following behind palmed his stubby hair with his hand and I put a round through him and his 2nd in commands head. Folded my bipod and hoofed it outta there. I knew it would be hours before anyone could get up there to investigate and was long gone. That scope I picked up in Germany was a great asset, cost me$1400 USD. A Marine was taking credit for some of my kills so I started loading a little black powder in my loads so he couldn't take credit. Had to quit when the CIA started giving orders. Don't miss it but again that was over 40 years ago. Great shooting but the game isn't how I should say, real? Good thing it isn't or you'd been dead a few times! lol

When going for 100% completion, you will inevitably come to the conclusion that stealth is an entirely optional aspect of this game, and that several "difficult" sections of the game are actually easier to get through while being as conspicuous as possible.

I wonder if you can pile up some enemies' bodies and then hide in between them (like in 'Enemy at the Gates'). Are there visible movements of your body when you look around?

It is a nice idea and I guess it might work if you got lucky but it seems very risky to me. As an invader I check for dead bodies through binoculars all the time as a means of establishing where Karl has been. A pile of them would interest me enough to check them for traps through the binoculars (it tells you when you look at them). I would almost certainly tag a Karl hiding amongst them, probably almost instantly due to the way the tagging system works.
So yeah, I guess that this would be drawing attention to yourself due to the mechanics of invasion mode.

you can pile them up, booby trap them and they will keep coming to investigate, the trash takes out itself.

It's DLC gear! The Ghillie suit and the pistol are from the Concealed Target & Weapon DLC, the SMG is from the Up Close & Personal DLC. I bought the game with the season pass so I've got all of it to date. This was actually my third playthrough of the campaign so I had already unlocked pretty much all of the weapon upgrades too.

Why on earth does Karl answer the phone in English given that he’s fluent in German? Even if he’d said the exact same thing he might have actually been given a message and learned more info.

He‘s born in Germany but his German is clearly not fluent. At least he has got a very bad accent.

Al i the only one who shoots lights out and places traps everywhere.

I used to shoot lights out, but I don't think it makes a difference in visibility to enemies in this game. I still sometimes do it if the glare affects visiblity when using the scope. Inexplicably, some lights can't be shot out!
Traps I use sparingly, mostly to cover an approach to my position, especially when there are several approaches, as it means I don't have to watch them all at the same time. It takes some of the pressure off. I don't use them as much as I used to.
