I'm Jewish and I don't believe in what Israel is doing. It's obvious that a religious state is not necessary. Jews don't need one country: we are, in the end, a religion. Islam does not need a country, and neither does Christianity. No religion needs a country. Although Judaism is a religion that tends to create communities and even, in this case, a nationality, there should be a *very* clear distinction between Israel and the Jewish People. It doesn't even have to be called Israel. What matters is that it is a country that allows anyone. If there were a truly democratic and free country in the Middle East, it would set a precedent for the rest of the region, hopefully stabilizing the area. If we could just get out of this stupid rut and have a little more peace maybe we could fix the middle east.

I have no problem with people using loaded terms, but... first define it. Provide a precise definition, otherwise it means nothing. For example if critique of Israel is antisemitism/nazism, then Jimmy Carter, Nelson Mandela, Noam Chomsky and Barack Obama are Nazi, as well as countless Jews, brilliant scholars and great humanitarians. One major problem with this. The foundation of Zionism is diametrically opposed to Traditional Judaism which states through the traditions of the Talmud and certain verses from the Torah that the Israelites cannot come back to Israel (AKA Canaan) because of their sins until YHWH brings a Messiah to them. Should Jews have a right to live in a land or own a state? Sure, but the problem would be defying clear cut commandments from The Torah, The Talmud, and YHWH Himself. I'm of European decent, but I'm not blind to see that the conflict was born out of the Western sense of entitlement. European powers supported Zionism and made the movement successful because it politically benefitted them to do so. It wasn't altruism. If people just used empathy and put themselves in the shoes of a Palestinian, their pro-Israeli sentiments would change.

I'm Jewish and I don't believe in what Israel is doing. It's obvious that a religious state is not necessary. Jews don't need one country: we are, in the end, a religion. Islam does not need a country, and neither does Christianity. No religion needs a country. Although Judaism is a religion that tends to create communities and even, in this case, a nationality, there should be a *very* clear distinction between Israel and the Jewish People. It doesn't even have to be called Israel. What matters is that it is a country that allows anyone. If there were a truly democratic and free country in the Middle East, it would set a precedent for the rest of the region, hopefully stabilizing the area. If we could just get out of this stupid rut and have a little more peace maybe we could fix the middle east.

One major problem with this. The foundation of Zionism is diametrically opposed to Traditional Judaism which states through the traditions of the Talmud and certain verses from the Torah that the Israelites cannot come back to Israel (AKA Canaan) because of their sins until YHWH brings a Messiah to them. The only reason why most people believe that Zionism and Judaism are the same thing is the belief in Judaism where Jews are a Race and a Religion. False equivalency. The Palestinian people are an ethnic group that has lived in the Holy Lands for thousands of years. Rome was an empire that took lands, not native to its people. The Palestinian ethnic group was there when the Persians, the Romans, and the Ottomans conquered. You know who wasn't there?? Non-Arab Jews. The arab-Jews were but a small minority who lived peaceably with the Arab Muslim majority. Then.. the white people started to arrive in droves. That's Zionism, and it's all thanks to the Balfour declaration. What the British Empire did to the world in the early 1900s, the United States does today.

@andreamarchese7964 Jews are a diaspora. They are no longer one ethnic group. The ethnic arab-jews are the only native Jewish population in palestine. The idea of zionism is an extension of late 1800s and early 1900s colonialism. It was set into motion by the Balfour declaration, which was enforced by the British Empire and was seen as an extension of the British Empire in the Middle East. Israel is mostly comprised of non-arab jews, aka European colonialist Jews. They displaced 750k native Palestinians when they started moving there in droves. It is manifest destiny. It is the idea that white people own the lands of native people simply because they believe themselves to be ethically and culturally superior. Israel is not entitled to other peoples land. Their supposed claim to the land does not justify the displacement and genocide of the native population. It is wrong and always has been.
@andreamarchese7964 Plus, do you know how many groups of people have been displaced since 700 BC?? The answer is that nearly every group that existed in any region has since been displaced. If we start going back to BC times as a means to determine land ownership, then EVERYONE must move. Seriously, nobody uses several thousand year old history (shakey and debatable history at that) to determine land ownership. Doing so is freaking insane. During early history, the hunter-gatherer crowd was constantly murdering and displacing the city builders. Raids and plunder, that was the name of the game. Nobody bases their land claims off of a hundred year old history, let alone thousands of years. The concept, as a whole, is complete nonsense. Where does the line get drawn? Do the Persians or Babylonians still own everything? Does Rome get re-established and given all their previous territory because they once controlled lands a thousand years ago?? Of course not, that's ridiculous. It's just as ridiculous as any Jewish claims to Palestinian land.

Genetically speaking, a particular DNA profile is called the "Cohen Modal Haplotype" as it frequently appears in the Jewish subgroup of the cohanim.
