It has been reliable for me. I have had a few issues that have caused a few problems, but they are easy fixes and if done when assembling the buggy you shouldnt have the same issues I have had. You can check out the build thread of this buggy on rcuniverse and search for I finally bought an FG, let the assembly begin.
Thats a tough question to answer. It all depends on how each car is set up, such as engine type and size and which pipe is being used. Generally speaking though a 2wd should be quicker off the line than a 4wd if they both share similar set ups. So depending on the set ups sometimes the FG Baja will be quicker than the HPI Baja and sometimes the HPI Baja will be quicker than the FG Baja.
I am all for removing plastic from the drivetrain and replacing it with alloy. Plastic is fine for certain parts but I dont think a diff case is one of them.
@Glukonarik I have never tried to block the diffs, but I have read where some people use silly putty or similar types of compounds to lock up the diffs. I couldn't tell you how well those methods work as I have never tried them. I have used super thick diff oil in my Nutech TBII, it doesn't completely lock the diff but it does a pretty good job limiting the diff.
@oODOVETAILOo Thanks, I really like the dual servos, but I know some feel one does the job just fine. It all comes down to personal preference and my preference is the dual set up.
Actually HPI have their products made in Japan/USA and Taiwan, NOT CHINA. Both Japan and Taiwan are well known for making high quality products. Stating otherwise is just plain ignorance wich u seem to be. Many world championships have been won by HPI products. Don´t get me wrong, i prefer FG myself but leaving ignorant comments like that is just plain stupid. Makes me wonder how old you are. Since you failed to mention where FG comes from, i´ll mention that too, Germany.
Nothing wrong with hpi I’ve owned the trophy and blitz good fun and just used original parts on both of them regret selling them but now I whant a Fg marda

The kit with hydro brakes runs around $2,800 and the cable brake kit goes for roughly $2,600.
