i saw your flying squirrel on another video and ordered one ASAP. it just came today and it’s sooo convenient omg, tysm for sharing that. you just made my life 1000x easier.
thank you so much for all your videos, i might be getting hospitalized for an nj placement due to my severe malnutrition so these videos have been really helpful to me ❤️ i’m trying my best to remain positive with you which is hard, but knowing i’m getting help soon makes me feel better :)
you are so welcome, thank you for supporting me! Aww no I am sorry you are going through that right now malnutrition is no fun. I know it’s scary but if it ends up happening I hope it goes well and that you can start getting some energy and just feeling a little better!
Surgery is definitely scary but I know you can get through it and the increased energy even if by a little will feel amazing. Good luck with everything!
Here in UK they wouldn’t recommend blowing into the bags and putting the giving set end into your mouth to suck the formula along the giving set (to finish priming) when you have a j tube because of sterility & not contracting infections of jejunum. We manually prime without the oral steps you show, over here, and I always prime via pump my personal preference. X
That’s so interesting and good to know! I know every doctor/hospital is different but what I was taught is that the GI tract is not sterile and it would be just like you eating food by mouth and that it’s all the same germs essentially. But definitely do what your doctor advises and what you are most comfortable with! Thank you for sharing!
@@KennaKrueger yes the stomach isn’t but has the ‘acid’ to kill off bacteria but the jejunum doesn’t so you can introduce bacteria that shouldn’t be there and potentially causing severe SIBO/SBBO small bowel intestinal infection. All fluids have to be sterile going into jejunum (J) but not if going gastrically (G) the SIBO/SBBO can cause feed intolerance and malabsorption xx
In the uk y’all’s pump also primes itself. Here u have to keep holding it which can hurt ur joints if u have hyper mobile disorders. And ur intestine isn’t gonna get infected from ur own spit lmao that’s just not how it works. It’s would be different if something was still healing but especially with a gj there’s no risk of infection. Europe takes too many unnecessary precautions
Hello Kenna excellent video! I have a ileostomy. And pesudo obstructions. I do at times get severe bloating. Still eating solid foods. But my Gi doctor thought a g tube for venting purposes might be helpful? Do you use your tube for venting purposes? And if so how well does it work for venting? The bloating for me is extremely hard to deal with. Have a great day!
Thank you so much! I am sorry you are experience unpleasant symptoms. I do occasionally use my g tube for venting purposes! Sometimes its used for draining and sometimes for venting air and both help with my symptoms a lot. I am not as bloated as I used to be on the day to day basis. I completely empathize with how hard bloating is to deal with. I feel like it seems like such a minor problem but it is seriously a very uncomfortable sensation and there is not much to help it. But to summarize, yes my g tube helps manage my bloating plus my other gastroparesis symptoms!
Hi Kenna! Great video. Question...how many times do you do feeding tubes in a day? Do you do it three times a day as well just like eating 3 meals? Does feeding tubes enough to supply energy all throughout the day or you happen to eat snacks in between?
Hi! Everyone with feeding tubes has different needs but I pretty much have mine running continuously. I do give myself a few hour break at night but then hook myself back up before going to bed and am hooked up all of the next day until the evening again. As of now my formula does not supply all my needed nutrients in a day but my doctors/dietician encourage me to eat small snacks and meals throughout the day to both get nutrients and to keep my some function in my stomach.
2 videos in a week AND an Etsy launch?? We have been BLESSED 🤧🙌🏼 so proud of you!!
Omg thank you so so much!!❤️
I had my feeding tube surgery October 15 and have learned more from you than the doctors and nurses. You are a gift. Thank you.
I hope recovery isn't too rough for you or that it is at least getting better! I am so happy to hear this video was helpful!
Really enjoyed your video..., Thanks for the info

Would you consider catheter leg bag covers
?
Oooo that is something I hadn’t thought of, I might have to try to learn how to make one, thank you for the suggestion!
