Built this for Christmas 2019 but with swivel castors for extra mobility. My kids hit this every day during the COVID-19 quarantine. Thank you so much for sharing your lightweight, family-friendly design! They slapped your green circle trail and Drama sticker on the side and call it "No Drama".
kainpwnsu I’m about to build one for my kids during the quarantine too. I’m having trouble with the curve for the sides of the ramp though. How would you describe yours?
@@benbryan1846 I started by drawing the curve on graph paper, and then built a scale model out of cardboard. Doing so helped me practice with the shape and play around with options. I'll post a video with my ramp.
When you lift the plywood out of the truck it bends? We bought a 23/32 thinkneass and it doesn’t bend at all so then we went and got 19/32. We live in Colorado and it’s very dry here. We have sprayed the wood with water in and off for two hours and it’s not really bending. The bottom screws popped out... what are we doing wrong?
@@micheleamidon6281 I think I ended up getting 11/32, which is 1/3 inch thick, because I was worried anything thinner would break. It took a LONG TIME to bend (I live next door in Utah). About 4-6 hours seems about right (I did it in 1 hour and cracked the top.) Lots of water and patience is required.
Made this yesterday with my 10 year old. We had to improvise the design a little so that I could use material I had in the shed (no shops open due COVID19). Works a treat, the 10 year old and 9 year old love it, the 6 year old is building up the bravery. Thanks for the inspiration.

It is 4-ply, and very thick, whereas the plywood in your video looks as though it's only 3-ply, and it is very flexible even without water. All-in-all, my wood snapped and now I need to spend $40 more. So what thickness plywood is appropriate?

Just built my first ramp. I see many more in my future😂 I opted for 1/4” plywood and 2x2s spaced at 6”. Very strong! Ratchet strap and weights helped bend it after soaking it. Be careful not to sink screws in too far when the wood is wet 😬 Haven’t attached the plate yet but it definitely would benefit . Just my two cents. Thanks for the tutorial👍🏻

Seth, great video. Thanks for the how-to. I have been wanting to build a ramp for a while. This looks perfect. I will try sometime soon. I think it'd be nice to have a stealth handle on the opposite side where the wheels are, to facilitate transporting this without having to bend over. Us older folks may be able to shred, but we're not all able to stay stooped over to push as ramp around like that. Haha!
Finally got around to building one of my own. Should’ve been more patient with the bending. I got a little bit of splintering but I’m gonna cover it in 1/8” Masonite. Turned out pretty good for my first ramp! I think the kids are gonna dig it.
Wassup seth. You should check out some Knoxville Tennessee bike trails. Here are a few you should consider: Baker creek preserve(cruze valley run, Barn burner, devil's racetrack); or sharps ridge bike trails, haw ridge bike trails. BKXC and Alexander went to baker creek preserve during redemtion 17 trip. Very fun and cool local trails
When soaking and bending the plywood, try some hot (just short of boiling) water. Opens and softens the fibers faster, just watch out with boiling water that it doesn’t hurt the glue in the ply. Otherwise, this is a super simple and great tutorial. Thanks!
