Finally, someone who explains this! Thank you. I just recently picked up drawing and was quite frustrated that I couldn't find anyone that could fully explain all these concepts together (cone of vision, vanishing points to achieve certain shapes, distortion and 3 point perspective).
I took some perspective by Marshall Vandruff, he never explained this concept and it took me days to realize it, and here you are proving what I have learned by my own is correct. Thank you!
Several videos dance around this concept but few ever quite finish explaining it. Thank you for doing so, and in such an easy to grasp way. Thanks! & CheerZ! edit: Right! just got the idea about using something other than a 90 degree angle - Excellent!
Didnt know of a good way to reach you. But David Finch gave you a shout out in his video today 1:24:32 / 1:26:33. He referred to you as a phenomenal inker if I'm remembering correctly. So now that even the greats are saying it you should feel it and own it as well. You're an inspiration to all. Love you man and keep doing what you do
Great video. But in 3pt perspective, the 3rd or should always be in lin with station point( whether upshot or downshot) ? For example, if my station point is one third from the left, so the third point should be directly above or below that SP? If yes then how much above or below?
Wonderful explanation! It would be cool to see an animation with VPS moving around so we can see the distrotion better but maybe that would be a bit much of work ^^
Hey, I’ve been watching all of your videos on anatomy, but I haven’t seen any one drawing characters from behind? That’d be helpful if you made a video on that anytime soon thanks
Question: with 3 point perspective, you don't use a station point? .......... or is 2 point perspective + station point actually 3 point perspective on steroids? .......... if not, how do you rotate (in up / down axis) a box in 3 point perspective?
Omg do not put the drawing in the middle of the page please and some stuff can be Corp in so it can show an interesting detail etc etc. Now are you using a mouse in your pic? Chrome book, windows 🐵🙉🙈 Mac???
I’ve been studying this for a year literally and this is the first time all these concepts have come together for me, thank you so much. Subbed
you save me! i have been trying to understand this concept for days now!
I have struggled with this for so long and you explained so easily, thank you very much!

Another piece of the puzzle just fell into place...thank you.. :)

This is pretty heavy content, very important and quite useful. I’m going watch this a fee times till I get this concept down....
Thank you! I had to do the same before I started to memorize the process. Good luck with your studies!
bro, this is literally exactly what i was searching for, thank you so much!
Happy to hear it and thanks for watching!
Perfectly clear, concise explanation. Finally, I understand, thankyou.
Would be cool to see more videos on the cone vision
Great video! I love the technicalities of art.
Thank you and me too!
Always look forward to your videos! I was just doing some perspective studies, so this helps clarify some things.
Thank you for the continued support! 😊

Thank you very much for taking the time to let me know. It was pretty cool to hear from an artist I have admired for years! 🙌😎
For the 3 point perspective should the angles for the triangle always be 60degrees ?
Thank you very very helpful and simplified
You’re welcome!

what if I decide my "canvas" to be bigger than the cone of vision?
Helpful. Thanks.
@robert marzullo can you explain how to determine the cone of vision when the focal point is not in the very center of the picture plane? thank you
Omg yes 2,3... Perspective I learned it in drawing 1 last semester and ah big difference.
Much Obliged Sir, for the insight.
Much needed, thank you
Just dropping a thank you.
Is it possible to add multiple cone of visions with multiple picture plans ?

Thank you! Not sure how I could create that animation without a lot of work but I will keep it in mind! 😊👍
Omg I love this
Thank you!!
Thank you very much😁
Thank you so much!
thank you

Great suggestion. I will add some to the channel very soon!

liiiaaaaarrr!!!
im joking, some concepts are okay & good explaind but not always correct like the "perfect cubes" that wont be perfect
Funny I get my brush and I close one eye and use a viewfinder for that then I point straight down to my paper 😁 way to fun.
Omg tell that to Jason's History of art guys Picasso and them 😅😳
I love how everyone just puts the station point in an arbitrary distance away from the CVP and never explains it.
Don't tell my professor that you did do the drawing in the middle of the page 😅🙈🙉🐵

finally sitting here at 3am I GET ITTT I FINALLY GET IT, ITS SO SIMPLE ITS JUST THAT THE 90 DEGRESS ROTATE AT THE STATION POINT I FINALLY GET IT YESS
THANK YOU MAN
