Happy to help!
@@ErinGipfordFreelance and for free . Thanks Erin
SO VERY HELPFUL! I recently took on a new project for a client that required me to reach out to a printing company and for the life of me, I could not get my files formatted correctly. It has been a long and drawn out learning experience. But I am so happy to have found you because I learned a better method for saving my .pdf files high quality print jobs.
Excellent tutorial. Not only do you explain the how but you explain the WHY!!! I am the type who needs to understand why we are selecting certain boxes versus not. Thanks for taking the time to do that.
I paused as you went along and did the steps myself and that helped a TON.
Thank so much you gave a through all tutorial! You saved me so much headache from trying to find the professional way to send things for print.
Amazing work 👏 🙌 👌 .
Thank you so much for all your support to designers.
By far one of the most helpful videos. Thank you !!
This was amazing!! I needed something specific to the point while other videos didn't show the file packaging part (which was what I was missing my crop marks were all over the place) and they just prattled to make a lengthy video. God Bless You!
I've been using Illustrator for years and never knew about the Package option haha. I used to collect all the needed files manually into a folder. Thanks so much!
Its a new option. It was an exclusive for years in inDesign only.
This was very helpful and I'm glad that you showed the detailed steps. It helps to understand what is going on in the background if you use the automated way. I created a small invitation for my library and I think that this might have helped my design print better. Because they are a non-profit, this had to be printed on their laser jet and I ran into all kinds of problems, like the drop shadow that was subtle on the screen (and printed fine on my ink jet printer) became really dark. I used a PDF file and then I needed to also save it so that it could be an image used in an email. It was a challenge for me as the jpg file included an extra border that was not in my file. UGH! I define my Illustrator skills as knows enough to be dangerous. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.
I've learned new: Package option

Thank you for your help. Hello from WI :)
Excellent work!
This was very helpful Erin thank you so much for making it easy to understand.
You are welcome!!!
Really helpful, thanks Erin.
You did a great job explaining everything in such detail. Now I will know what is happening when prepress is upset that a customer didn’t outline the fonts.
But, this is exactly the type of information I want to learn, verses the designing of art aspect. For example, now I want to know why I need to have an image flattened when sending verses me learning how to make crazy shapes.
Yay! 👍
Love your tutorials, so clear. Thank you for your help.

Hey Erin. That tutorial is super helpful. Only question though. For the first option is it risky to send the source file to the printing firm/company whatever? And if Yes how can we prevent this and have some kind of protection? Thanks in advance!

Hey how do I go about designing a large format graphic for a business booth. It would be like 91 in by 91 in for the main part. The printing company said they need a vector file how would I go about designing a file containing text an images that would be rescalable without loss? Would I follow this same video or how do I go about starting the design in illustrator?
Thank You

Thumbs UP and Fav.
Very helpful. I am a graphic design student. Do you offer courses on illustrator, photoshop. Is it the same process in the other apps. Thanks

Can you give me little advice, i need to print coloring book. I have illustrator file. A4 size. I have one by one page. Not side by side.(left and right) i have 30 pages.
So, if i need to create coloring book do i need to reformat it as side by side? Can i print all pages one by one and put all together?

I thought PDF would be the prefered format for print? EDIT// sorry, should have watched the whole video first. With a PDF though i can just ensure fonts are embedded rather than changing to outlines (?)
"Package" Menu Option is grayed out for me...Any ideas on why?
what's the difference between exporting and doing a package ? plea help thanks
its so easy? working with color specially CMYK is little hard. Seperation, overprint etc.
If I want to deliver a Print Ready PDF to a client which contains gradient, gradient mesh, and transparency how should I set my PDF file?
Dated but helpful tutorial. Can anyone comment on why you'd ever do anything but send them a PDF? And if doing so, do you really need to embed the images? As long as text is outlined, I save as PDF and relocate the file all manner of places, download fresh copies, etc. and never have any problems.
i saw many time creater doesnt provied source file , why they do that and , and what mean of source file , that zip file called source file ? plz reply any one here
If I design a artwork in Illustrator CMYK mode and the images are saved in RGB format from Photoshop and brought to Illustrator, does the images automatically convert to CMYK.
No, your images will hold their original color mode.
good job
