How fabulous was this entire vlog! I'm in the middle of researching our planned Alaska trip and stumbled across your series. So glad I did!! One of the very best I have seen. Thoroughly enjoyed travelling along with you on your epic adventure!!
I very much enjoyed and appreciate your style and candor during this series of videos to Alaska. Your cinematography was well done, eye catching, and relaxing…..it was as if we had gone with you both. Keep it up, you are better than most and I expect to see you both in the near future as you rise up in the ranks.
What a GREAT series Andy & Kirstie!!! My wife and I enjoyed each and everyone of the videos. We are interested in Alasks as we are planning our cruise next May with Princess. The camera shots all were wonderful. Thank you so much for going to Alasks and taking us all along. David & Donna Sheets
Glad you enjoyed the cruise beautiful scenery, make the most of eating all that food while you can i used to eat morning noon and night never put weight on, till i got into my 60s and retired, now i have to cut back when on holidays, im just at the ideal weight but have to walk and cycle a lot to keep it in check, heres till your next one.
Another great series Andy and Kirstie keep this good work up. I have really enjoyed you sharing all your holiday experience with us. Looking forward to seeing the next series.
I thought you two did an amazing job of describing the details of this trip, especially the dining. I appreciate it because I'm sailing on this ship July 29th. Thanks.
I watched the first few of your Koningsdam videos before embarking on her myself and the last two just after returning. I had a fixed dining time an found the 3rd floor dining room a bit quieter than the anytime on the 2nd floor (although both were very busy on the Gala nights). I loved the Music Walk area, especially the group that played in the Rolling Stone Rock Room! This is my 3rd Holland America ship and I did really like the Koningsdam. However I much prefer the smaller Holland America ships as they seem less crowded but have almost all of amenities. Thank you for another wonderful video series!
Interesting to hear your experience. We loved HAL and have talked about trying a smaller ship in the fleet and also maybe even paying for club orange for a better dining experience.
Wow , an absolutely fantastic vlog, I enjoyed every minute and am so excited for our trip next year. Beautifully shot and nice and calm , unlike many others I’ve seen ! Thank you both.
Loved your video of Glacier Bay. When I was there it was grey and rainy, so seeing it in sunshine was beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Hope you are enjoying your summer.
Great final episode of an awesome series. Brings back many happy memories from last year, and good to see how you found Holland America. Certainly temps me to chose them as a contrast to our Princess Cruises. Best wishes for future adventures, looking forward to following you in them Cheers! 😁💖🛳️⚓
I’ve really loved looking at your vlogs of the week on Koningsdam in Alaska. We’re booked on the same ship/cruise July 25. We’ve never done a cruise before although in our 60s…you’ve given us a great flavour of what to expect, including clothing! It looked terrific! We’ve booked a drinks package but still not entirely sure about what’s included in which eateries..and also gratuities..I’d imagine you’d a large bill at the end? Thanks so much. Carol in Wales. 🏴
Hope you enjoy it! It was definitely one of our favourite trips. We didn't book any packages on board. We didn't really drink too much during this trip. With the excursions we did, it definitely wasn't a cheap holiday!
Your videography and associated music were phenomenal! You deserve way more subscribers!!!!! Aside from the noise and chaos of the buffet and MDR was the food on Holland America and the other amenities worth it?
Great series, looks fantastic! We’ve just got off P&O’s Arvia and the queues for the buffet and dinner are crazy on that too. Virtual queue for main dining room every night was a good hour + long wait.
Well done! Great hosts, amazing video photography and editing. Positive cheery attitudes. Andy how do you keep so slim while eating like a Bulgarian power lifter?
What a fantastically filmed cruise, with great scenery, food and music.... loved every minute 🙂 I spotted an UA in the outlet place - did you indulge 😃
Lovely scenery, but sorry it was so blustery on your sea day. Glad it calmed down later. Much calmer in May when I went. Beautiful scenery in Alaska. I like bagel breakfast sandwiches. Cookies look fabulous!😂I actually like it when buffet is served and everyone doesn’t touch serving utensils. I’ve seen women in rest rooms who left without washing their hands.😵💫
Yes, those bagels were really good! A lot of people feel the same way as you about the buffet service and don't like everyone serving themselves. People are pretty gross, but I'd rather take the risk and serve myself exactly what I want 😆
Hi guys, Steve from Vancouver here. Will be sailing on the same ship July 22 so completely enjoyed your videos in advance! Andy, that is a super cool Alaska hat you had on and I wonder if you remember where you bought it as I want one myself when I’m on my cruise. Cheers!!
Andy, found the hat and it was the last one left in town! Had a great trip with lovely warm sunny weather everyday except for some drizzle and a bit chilly in Glacier Bay. We did Taku Lodge in Juneau which was fantastic and well worth the cost. Also did the Yukon/White Pass in Skagway as well. If you are ever passing through Vancouver again let me know and we will meet up for a pint. Steve
How about a short video of the area where you live. I live in the US, so it would be interesting to me, and maybe to others as well. And.... thanks again for posting another video.
Thanks for taking me along on this fab cruise,I loved it! Did you come across any Alaskan Inuit peoples while there.?.or buy any of the handcrafted native gifts? And did you love the inside of Vancouver airport,? One of the best airports I've seen in the world..
Thank you so much for these great videos. My wife and I enjoyed watching these and learned quite a bit just before we departed on our first trip on the Koningsdam in July. It looks like you really enjoyed yourself. One question though, in your video you have an under armor alaska shirt, we looked everywhere for it and could not find one. Where did you get the shirt? Thanks again and we look forward to future videos!
Hey, glad you enjoyed the videos! There was a souvenir shop close to the waterfront, facing out onto a wooden boardwalk right near we were berthed in Ketchikan. That's where I bought the T-shirt.
We love seeing your videos and experiences on board. Alaska is somewhere we really would like to see and having seen your latest vlog it's now high on our bucket list. Can I ask why you chose Holland America over Princess? Have a lovely summer and we'll look forward to your next cruise. X
We just got off the Koningsdam; coming into Vancouver we were greeted by about 25 humpbacks and a fleet of dolphins. No orcas, but still very exciting.
This has been so informative for us given that we are going on this cruise next May 2025. One question!! How on earth do you keep the weight off with all that food 😀
Really enjoy your videos. We've been thinking about trying HAL after 6 cruises on Celebrity, so found your honest review of the dining room/buffet and other info about the ship really useful. Thank you, and looking forward to your next series.
Did you guys not go to the BB King Blues lounge? I didn’t see it in your vids. Regarding the line ups for dining… if you go off “normal” hours for dining (8, 12, 5) the lineups are minimal. The bonus with HAL ships is that there aren’t as many people on board as some of the other cruise ships (Princess, carnival, celebrity etc). I enjoyed your videos. I’m glad you liked my city :)
We did go into BB Kings a few times. We really enjoyed HAL and loved Koningsdam, but it was definitely very full of passengers on this particular trip. We'd definitely sail HAL again though.
Hi Andy and Kirstie, firstly thank you for your beautiful vids, very informative and have simply learned and enjoyed so much from your well paced narrative and background music! Two questions: was Hightea served on board? and as you have not mentioned the Lincoln Center presumably performances were not ongoing at the time or completely not running? Ty!
Good to hear you enjoyed the videos! I'm sure afternoon tea would have been served, but we didn't see it. Don't know about performances in the Lincoln Center. Didn't see those.
Loved your channel especially this one! Assuming this was a 7 day cruise? We’re from NY looking into a RT to Vancouver? The airport was good? Ty so much for being honest also & beautiful videos!
Your camera work is outstanding. It's so professional and just draws me in. I look forward to my Alaska trip hopefully next year. That band was really good. We were on the Equinox in May and unfortunately they had the same band in the atrium all week and the singer was horrid. It's as if they didn't audition her. Their entertainment in general was really underwhelming. Your reviews of food and entertainment along with others definitely lead me to HAL for my Alaska trip. Hope your trip home was easy and safe.
Yeah we don't think you can go far wrong with HAL, especially to Alaska. The entertainment was great. We'd definitely sail HAL again. Our journey home was fine thanks. Just took us a while to get over the jet lag!
Really enjoyed your series. Not a cruise line I would normally consider. That “profiterole” was absolutely massive. What future cruises do you have planned ?
Hi Andy and Kristie, I thoroughly enjoyed watching your Alaska trip. What time of the year did you go and how cold was the temperature? Thanks, Erika from sunny Perth Australia 🇦🇺 😎
It looked like another great cruise for you both, with some tremendous port trips. It didn’t seem to give you the same “fine dining “ options as you have had in the past, plus a very noisy MDR. Carry on cruising

You really did Vancouver proud. You are welcomed back anytime. Thank you!
Thanks! It's a great city and we'd love to return one day.
Thanks for this because it's the perfect time for me to see it : I booked my Alaska Cruise on the Holland America Koningsdam this afternoon 😃
September 9 to 16 😊
Have a great time!
Another great series guys! Your photos and videos are so impressive. Look forward to the next series.

Yeah, I basically have to stop eating between cruises!
Thank you so much for this series. Absolutely brilliant. I’m aching to get back to Alaska!
You should!
@@andyandkirstie Next year.

Cheers for the vlogs its been a great one to watch.

Enjoying your videos and excellent background music. Did Alaska in May and returning next year. Konigsdam to Hawaii in 2024.

We chose Holland America as we'd never sailed with them and they arguably have a slight edge over Princess with berth locations and port timings.
