- Although some days aren't meant for kayaking... Most are! All new GoPro Out To Lunch episode featuring yours truly and Isaac Levinson... For sure the coldest conditions we've paddled in and probably some of the sketchiest. Plenty of deadly little ice undercuts you do not want to mess with... Fortunately, we kept things #OutToLunch
Awesome :) Good stuff guys.
Pretty awesome
All of this was excellent. Can't believe people said no
You sir are a badass !!! That was awesome :)
This rates at least a hell to the fuck yeah. Inspirational!
I'm over in MT, but call me anytime! I love ice cubes in between my pdf n drysuit. Keeps a guy from breaking a sweat.
Now that's how you get brain freeze
You know that water has to be cold
Great Vid, smartest friend really - Kayaking time is all the time. What music was that for the kayaking part?
Fuck dude that's awesome. Great vid & experience.
Hey Rush, any Cali trips planned for this year? :)
If you can't find anyone next time, I'll go!
Come to Ireland and bring some rain!
You should have called me like 30 years ago... except you probably weren't born yet. I was always up for something I'd regret. Wouldn't have gone down the Black Canyon of the Gunnison before it was all dammed up if I were anything other. I think the rating system may have changed since my time on the rivers. Back then we had a I - VII system. If a river was class 7 (VII) it was supposed to be unrunnable. Some friends of mine and I decided that you're never too young to die, and we put in right at the edge of town in Gunnison, CO. We went all the way down to the river's confluence with the North Fork of the Gunnison just outside of Hotchkiss, Co. One of our party members replied when interviewed that the river had been rated a 7.0, and that now it is a 6.... .666! Yes, parts of it were hellish. Sadly no ever ran it after us, and no one ever will, because they began building the first of 4 dams (damns?) the next year. Two of the four have very little purpose. They supply a minute amount of electricity; not enough to power the homes of ranchers in the area, the water can't be used for irrigation because it's way down in the bottom of the canyon, and there are no boat ramps into the reservoirs for recreational water usage. It's not for flood control either, since flooding has never been an issue even downstream of Black Canyon. They were built as Army Corps of Engineers projects just to show that "any river can be tamed" in a time where untamed things weren't widely valued. It would never happen now, even though there are still some stupid apes who believe that way still. God a lot of fun water was wasted with those. I'm sure it would be a mecca for long haul difficult river kayakers today if it had have been allowed to run free. What a waste.
That was epic! Only thing that could of been better is if you stayed in your roles. Like you guys were from the beginning. You started to be out of character at the end a little bit pussing out. 🤣🤣🤣
Also, when you were not paddling, how da hell did you keen your hands warm!?!?
