Hello! Thank you so much for giving our little game a try!! This is our first game on the Steam store, and we feel so blessed that CozyTyper has received such positive feedback! :D We were ecstatic to see your response to the game, we both poured our hearts into it! Also, another big thanks for finding those couple of issues in the quotes, those have all been fixed and are included in the update we released this morning! The update also includes a new radio station (vaporwave) and 5 new ambiences! Thanks again for giving us a shot, and for sharing that enjoyment with your community! Stay Cozy ♥
We have really enjoyed going through all the comments, the kind words are so encouraging! A small side note, this game (as well as being a platform to practice typing) is a bit of a philosophical experiment into death of the author! By presenting the quotes devoid of context or attribution, we are left with just the words and our own interpretations! It is excellent to see discussion of how different people are interpreting the various quotes from their own perspective!
So Gab, your favorite quote from week 1 is "What is a man, a miserable pile of secrets." It's actually from my favorite game of all time, "Castlevania Symphony of the Night" and the line is said by Dracula.
That's not what it meant at all: it meant that encouraging someone to have confidence in themselves is a great gift. Surely there's nothing offensive about having gratitude to someone for believing in you, but the best way to "repay" them is to pass on that gift by showing confidence in others yourself.
Yeah I agree there should be a typing game with a story involving the typing. Maybe where you are typing emails to somebody for work then they start to get to know each other. Later becoming friends then maybe falling in love. It would be a cute story to type out in a game.
"Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested thoroughly" is from Inkheart, it's one of my favourite books, also they don't mean it literally, it's about how some books you can read a little bit of but not like them a lot, others you get more into but still they aren't your favourite and then there are those that are favourites, one's you can't help but read all at once ☺️
There a game called "Epistory" you might like. It is a lot like this one, but you actually move through and do things in the game by typing words on the screen.
And I think the quote “Anything you’re good at contributes to happiness.” doesn’t mean that only things you’re good at will contribute to happiness but rather each thing you’re good at will add to your overall happiness.
I also read/heard this one as "anything you are good at will add to the happiness of the world. like you don't have to be good at "serious" things for them to have worth, you can be good at knitting, or cake decorating, or cosplay, or anything, and sharing that will add happiness to the world, and that is of value.
I think what I Iove is that she plays a lot of "introverted games." Those are games that are casual, one-player games that you can either sink countless hours of gameplay in. These game do not appear to need that much brain power, the soundtracks are calming and relaxing, there is a casual storyline in the background, and I find myself searching those episode countless times
17:56 fun fact: Cliffs that have water splashing against them will be worn and will take damage as time passes. But it's fine to be a tough cliff and still be affected by the water. Nothing is completely indestructable. Anyways, I'd like more typing videos but the lofi made me think, has Gabby played "lofi room" yet? She might like it.
"Anything you're good at contributes to happiness." Just because you are good at something doesn't mean you like it doing it. There are a few things that I am really good at and makes me feel unhappy to do them.
As a computers teacher that does typing as our 10min warmup every day… I’m so happy there are more options out there for my students that want to go further.
Hey! We are the developers of CozyTyper and we'd love to get you situated with some free Steam keys for your students! If you would like that, could you provide us with a way to contact you? Twitter would be ideal! Stay Cozy ♥
Gab is always showing us such cool games!! It was super relaxing watching the typing. I love how it broke out all the stats at the end. The story about PDFs is so familiar to me, I had to convert one just yesterday. I’m like “can you PLEASE send a different format? ANY other format?” 🤣 Thanks for the video ✨✨
This game feels very cozy! Plus, my little gremlin brain likes to collect quotes at random so a few of these I had seen and gave a good gasp for, but some I hadn't and it just felt nice to find them. The fact that the devs put in some pop culture references that are modern is also such a nice little touch! The "You don't need a reason to help people" punched me in the gut because I first found that through Final Fantasy IX, but they also had a good Iroh quote from Avatar: the Last Airbender: "Life happens wherever you are, whether you make it or not." Other little faves: "There's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for!" (LotR) "Don't be reckless with other people's hearts. Don't put up with people who are reckless with yours." (Baz Luhrmann's "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" was my first encounter with that) All in all, I liked sipping my coffee and reading these little quotes while you chatted away, it was super cozy! Good vibes all around!
Ha. Hi from a fellow former localization project manager! Totally know what you mean. "Do you have that in any format we can use?" was probably one of the most common questions. 😄 This looks super relaxing and fun!
As someone who never learned how to type properly I found this extremely satisfying 🤭 The sound of the keyboard is just mesmerizing and you're so good at it as well. I'd love to see more, it was super relaxing! Greetings!
I have a love hate relationship when you post fun indie games I'm interested in playing - I love that in the beginning of your video, I realize I want to play it; but I hate that means I need to click off your video until I play it and then return after. Thanks Evelien! I'll be back to finish this video after checking this out [...just like Behind the Frame, Discolored, and so many...] 😅
It has been a minute since I thought about it, but when you mentioned a magician talking about money it made me think of Derren Brown. I think it was on his show trick or treat, but he talks about money and proceeds to try to pay people with blank slips of paper that he supposedly made them believe was actually currency. That is if I am remembering correctly.
God this game gave me a flashback to the first typing game I ever played called Icarus Proudbottom teaches typing, it took me a while to remember the name. If you want some wacky, comedic story through typing, I thoroughly recommend it!
the lofi music in this game is the same lofi music i usually listen to, so for a minute there i was searching through my tabs wondering where my music was playing haha
to round up my evening i watched a gab gameplay, so nice! I Woved it! and i found great quotes to use to make a picture from, thanks. A favorite quote that i come across in time is: "Don't try to force a smile for anybody else, but don't forget that it's okay to smile for yourself."
gab!! from what I know about blue lights they are actually harmful for your retnas and vision in general. I believe they’re link to cataracts. Obviously they’re not the main cause of that but I do believe they can cause that
27:46 also this qoute is actually kinda messed up. What, if you don't feel like you can love yourself that means you'll never be able to be happy? If you can't embrace who you are yet, don't give up hope. Maybe one day you'll be able to.
i might look into this game at some point in the future, it seems really calming and relaxing and will help me become better with my own typing. funny story though, i had taken typing classes in high school and they had a cover that went over the keyboard so that you couldn't see what you were writing and i absolutely hated it. i could never get the hang of it at all. but once i got a laptop, i was able to type without looking at my hands at all and it's progressed very quickly over the years. i've even surprised my kids because i'd be looking at them while typing something, or jokingly type what we are talking about as we're talking. i can't talk and type at the same time though unless it's about what i am talking about, otherwise i begin typing what i'm talking about XD. i could be a good stenographer if i worked on shorthand, but i prefer to write out the whole word to be honest. lol. when i work on my novel, i usually aim for 3000-4000 words per chapter and can knock out 3-4 chapters a day, in just a few hours. within only two months i had 65k words written with an 80k goal. unfortunately things happened and i haven't been able to finish it just quite yet (it's been six years though, so who knows when i'll finish it) but i still see it as a huge accomplishment as it is. and it helped me to get better at writing. sure here i might not capitalize certain letters/words, but when i focus on it, i do. and i struggle a lot with grammar because i could never get the hang of it or understand it in school....though learning other languages have helped a tiny bit with my grammar and sentence structure, so i guess that's something. i also prefer to write by hand first and then type it up so that i can catch mistakes that i wouldn't notice otherwise, though some still slip through that i won't catch for months.
I would be SO into watching you play more typing games/trying out some of them myself! Listening to you type and read quotes was a delight. Much love and support as always 💛
I didn't pay attention to her playing BECAUSE she made me want to do my own chill typing game. I looked one up and did it while I was listening to her. I had fun. Chill vibes and just hearing the typing of the keyboard, satisfying to me.
I loved this! Sometimes I like just having you in the background if I'm doing something, be that playing a game solo and I want to listen to something or even just writing. The music was great and listening to your commentary was fun, to be honest I would have listened to the whole 3 hours if you uploaded it! Anyways loved the game!
Does she have the new keyboard at the time she filmed this video? I remember her talking about a quiet keyboard replacing her (noisy) keyboard. She used another word for noisy but if you have seen the video you will know. Are the keyboard sounds coming from the game or are they picked up from her mic?
I love typing!!! Honestly, your translation work sounds like my kind of work. Although, I would have to learn a new language, as I only know english. Time and money. But typing is such a joy!
Your right hand might have been fine, where your left hand was sore because, in general, most words require the keys on the left-hand side of the keyboard more than the right. So you were, by and large, using your left hand more than your right as you went on.
You’ve played so many amazing games from steam recently and I am away to play them all, especially this one because I want to improve my typing in a chill way 😊
That was really fun to watch and get so many interesting quotes! And I used type all the time! I even did 9 hours when I was writing my book! I really hope this game gets more viewers for you! I want to see play more typing names : ).

So Gab, your favorite quote from week 1 is "What is a man, a miserable pile of secrets." It's actually from my favorite game of all time, "Castlevania Symphony of the Night" and the line is said by Dracula.
said in wonderfully cheesy, overacted way 😀 *WHAT IS A MAN?*
@@guerney2000 *wine glass shatters* "A MISERABLE LITTLE PILE OF SECRETS! But enough talk, have at you!"
😀
It is actually a real world quote by Andre Malraux, that was used for the game.
“I don’t owe anyone shit!” No truer words have ever been spoken 😂
Also this is really relaxing

What a great idea! I hope someone makes a game like this. It’s like the game ‘Unpacking’ but with typing.
emily is away

was just going to suggest this same thing. I love "Epistory - Typeing Chronicles" and it has a sequel as well. really fun game.
They made another typing game, also with a fox. But it's less storybook-like and more magic.
@@loviebeest can you remember the name of it?
@@shannasemenza8821 yeah, it's called nanotale. They really improved the mechanics in this game.
Would love to see her play Epistory. It's such a whimsical and creative game.
Cozy typing sounds so relaxing! I love the cat background on the PC!
😀
I absolutely love how BB is laying on you like "I love my mom, look how spoiled I am" he's so cute!!!

This is awesome. I'd love to see a horror one where it gets progressively darker and evil and things happen if you make mistakes 😈
Also a fun game would be trying to type w your cat, or cats, trying to lay on the keyboard. "Hooman me wants fewd an pettins!"

This reminded me of learning to type.
I used to play a game called Typer Shark. It was a blast. I highly recommend it.
"can I offer you a nice egg in this trying time." I'm shocked you pick that one up😂 Danny Devito's quote
I love the little snippets of BB. My cat recently passed away from old age and seeing Gab with her little guy makes me so happy and nostalgic

You can type without looking at the keyboard. That's what I aspire to do.
What a delightful game that my wife and I are absolutely gonna play! Also, I second the comments mentioning Epistory. I think you'd love it :D
I listen to Lofi all the time and it's crazy that I can recognise the songs. It feels like I'm studying
An apple a day keeps the doctor away- if you have good aim. 😂
Studying for grad school with this in the background, thank you for the cozy vibes
