The Drüid: Yes I'm not a big fan of COF myself either but I did see them in 2003 in Detroit on a co-headlining bill with Type O Negative. COF put on an amazing show, it was freaky because they had these two demons at either end of the stage on top of the guitar amps & I thought they were just props because they didn't move for a few songs & then all of a sudden they started moving & it was pretty cool. I was there to see Type O Negative as they are my favorite band, at the time COF bassist Dave Pybus was a big part in getting Type O on that your as Type O is Dave's favorite band. Type went on before COF & put on an amazing show! COF went on last because of a production stand point as they had way more props & gear to set up than Type O but both bands kicked ass.
They are one of my favorite bands and are a great band. They were more extreme and Black Metal back in the 90s and evolved over the years into just more dynamic extreme metal. You should check out they’re new album. It’s good!

Love the band, from high school to now and I'm 30. So many bands lose their way over time but this band has always stuck to their guns and I respect them for that, fucking loved the new album personally.
I love that he called out Kiss (in a way) because as a child I saw a Kiss poster and was terrified and fascinated. Then when I heard their music; I said "No really, I want to hear that band." pointing at the poster. "This is that band" I was told. 3 more songs and I wondered what the deal with the make-up/costumes was. My first ever WTF moment at 3 years old.
He had a point about collaboration with Taylor Swift. Definitely more hardcore than burning the church down, just imagine the shitstorm that would come up after that. Yeah, sick shit... I know! :D
Ballad2Grave At least collaborating with a pop sat like Swift is more productive and better for your career since it doesn’t involve doing harmful things to people.
The first ever COF filth song I heard back in 2006-7 was Born in a Burial gown and I’ve known COF ever since and always come back to COF every now and then.
That bit about rap bands posing with Uzis being more hardcore than metal bands stalking around in the woods is hilarious. 😂 He's not wrong! I don't listen a *lot* of CoF, but I absolutely think they deserve a place in the black metal genre. Their air of theater is fantastic, and he can certainly write some great lyrics.
Tbf with a name like that and with what looks like quite a serious eye condition he had limited career options, fair play to him that he's managed to get into a rock and roll band 👍

People who hate COF always give a lame excuse why they hated it. They hated COF not because the band is bad but it doesn't align with them. Subconsciously they wanted others to know they listen to the more evil, heavier and brutal bands just so they could boast that they're 'pure cvlt'. Childish really... The truth is COF started out playing plain old black metal. Then they expanded their musical and artistic horizon to become the style that they are now. With classical symphony combined with poetic lyrics and their theatrics, they're easily the most artistic and creative band in the extreme metal genres. COF might not be 'true cvlt' but they're 'true art'.
I just discovered this band i love it now im into this type of music its crazy about a week ago i didn't know who this band was and just my luck they are playing in Chicago next month. First concert i will be going too never been to any concert before i think its gonna be great i hope i enjoy myself I've been in depression for the past 5 yrs which ironically led me to this band just last week the song was nymph something i got it saved for sure tho .
The bands they grew up with were good artist for their time. However our generation thrives upon the outcome of years of improvement in the Heavy Metal and Death Metal Genre. For me I became enthralled in Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, and Behemoth. These are my trio of ultimate metal icons of my generation. Time will tell when the next masters of metal will emerge and take this world by storm.
I think of Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, and Behemoth as the third wave of Black Metal. I am a huge fan of first and second wave Black Metal, but my tastes have always been more geared towards 80's, and 90's American DM, Swedish DM, and late 90's BDM (the New York and Cali bands). Bands like Cradle, Dimmu, and Behemoth appealed to me from a young age around 1999/2000 when Death Metal took a temporary decline in popularity because the third wave BM gave me certain aspects of Death Metal that I always loved while still keeping the signature style of second wave Black Metal. I also loved how there were more slow parts to build a mood. Third wave Black Metal is almost a blend of different styles of Extreme Metal while still retaining the hallmarks of Black Metal. It's basically Black Metal on steroids. I love the Darkthrone, Emperor, Mayhem, Immortal, and early Gorgoroth type of sound, but the third wave Black Metal bands did their own thing with the style, plus they focused more on artistic expression, and epic performances. I also like bands such as Inquisition from America which is another band that deviated in some ways from the second wave of BM. It's like the third wave took ques of what bands like Emperor were doing, but they dropped some of the grittiness, along with the medieval Lord Of The Rings, and D&D vibes. It's not that there is anything wrong with second wave Black Metal. I would love to hear some new bands try to do that second wave style of Black Metal because it's freaking awesome in its own right, but there is something more brutal, dark, and artsy about bands like Cradle, Dimmu, and Behemoth. They create a dark, brutal, but almost beautiful aesthetic in a way. Some BM fans would think of those bands as a disgrace to the genre, but I don't care because I am in it for the music/art itself, not for proving how pure I am as a BM fan. To me, purists limit art.
First time i heard filth when i was 7 years old. I don't understand the lyrics but the vibes they gave i just chilling, terrorizing, horrifying. Even i don't understand english back then but everytime i heard those song, it felt like he told me a story. Such magical. No BS

King diamond>>>>>anything cradle of filth has ever done
Love the band, from high school to now and I'm 30. So many bands lose their way over time but this band has always stuck to their guns and I respect them for that, fucking loved the new album personally.
I love that he called out Kiss (in a way) because as a child I saw a Kiss poster and was terrified and fascinated. Then when I heard their music; I said "No really, I want to hear that band." pointing at the poster. "This is that band" I was told. 3 more songs and I wondered what the deal with the make-up/costumes was. My first ever WTF moment at 3 years old.
OldSkoolAnimeFan that’s how I felt when I saw ghost I spected them to sound like slipknot or least cradle of filth heavy
Dani is so down-to-earth. Liking the guy already!
One of the best songwriters ever \m/
Anyone know what shirt he´s wearing there?
Is Dani wearing a band shirt? What band is it?
What Dani says about Kiss really hits the nail on the head. I remember looking at the cover of Destroyer and hearing Beth at the same time - WHAT???
I remember hearing their cover of Hallowed be thy Name and I've been into death metal since really
I'm glad I watched this.
Funny thing is, pop stars worship the same stuff as him. Just in secret.
Some pop stars are open about it like lady gaga.
Fuck pop music
+John H. "taylor swift, thats real evil, you know it"... truth
Great interview
what is the band tee dani's wearing?
I just noticed Dani almost has no neck. Giving corey taylor and coarpsegrinder a run for their money \,,/
Age and years of screeching will do that to you. There are serious risks to singing like these guys do. Props to them.
Its all his vocals !
@@thedevilwithin6336 you're an idiot
Cradle of filth was one of my very favorites when i was youngin!
for taylor swift and beyonce collaborating with a black or death metal band "it is more hardcore than burning a church" - funny dani filth 😂
He is not far from reality. He is not joking.
Love them, I was so not expecting him to speak in that accent ;D ;D
Who here just loves cradle of filth and dani?? like.
Dominick Riggio They’re not my first pick for black metal, but I’ll take them over a generic Darkthrone or Emperor or Gorgoroth clone.
Ugh, Dani is so gorgeous...still to this day he’s still sexy!!
Still my Favorite Black Metal band. And Yes , Dani is just awesome.
Huge fan
Meeee
The first ever COF filth song I heard back in 2006-7 was Born in a Burial gown and I’ve known COF ever since and always come back to COF every now and then.
That bit about rap bands posing with Uzis being more hardcore than metal bands stalking around in the woods is hilarious. 😂 He's not wrong! I don't listen a *lot* of CoF, but I absolutely think they deserve a place in the black metal genre. Their air of theater is fantastic, and he can certainly write some great lyrics.
Dani rules, he is so cool, polite. A awesome singer and person.
Cold was my soul, untold was the pain...
I’m not a Cradle fan but I like him, very good interview and he knows his Metal history; just can never really get into them; I try again!
I can't stand their music but damn he's well spoken and thoughtful in what he concludes.
Man many years have passed since I listened to it or seen him I think back in early 2000’s
I've never noticed the scars on Dani's arms before. What is the story behind them?
I read somewhere that he managed to get tangled up in some barbed wire and ripped his arm up pretty bad.
I asked him, when I met him in Brum, skateboarding apparently.
He is a real rock star.
I started listening to them because of Noel Fielding.
ThereIsNoTry funny because at 0:39 he looks like Douglas Reynholm
Listen to track 9 - coffin fodder! its sounds horrible but its actually quite beautiful! xD
I am a huge fan of cradle but have yet to see them live, gotta make that happen🤘
Tbf with a name like that and with what looks like quite a serious eye condition he had limited career options, fair play to him that he's managed to get into a rock and roll band 👍
Ha!

Go for it Dani! I don't care what they say, if you and Cradle do good music I still will listen to it! \m/
Dude, I haven't seen Dani Filth since 2001! He isn't skin and bones anymore!
I hear you brother , depression is real, been dealing with it my whole life , metal & bands like these help me out believe it or not
The bands they grew up with were good artist for their time.
Ok gownthe hell are the contacts glowing and where can we get them!?
Seems like a solid dude🤘
First time i heard filth when i was 7 years old. I don't understand the lyrics but the vibes they gave i just chilling, terrorizing, horrifying. Even i don't understand english back then but everytime i heard those song, it felt like he told me a story. Such magical. No BS
why is someone screaming "PIZZA" in the background 1:14
natalie lol
Because lunch time
Pizzaaaa screamed by Dani filth
natalie. Because pizza is metal
KVLT
Can anyone know what shirt he is wearing in this video? I’d love to know
I've never seen an interview with him, and I had no idea he was British. I would've guessed him Swedish or something. Goes to show you learn something new every day. Side note: New CoF fucking rules!!!
Dani Filth is one of the coolest metalheads on Earth
Black Metal fans that complain that CoF aren't KVLT enough make me cringe so hard :/
I agree that they are not. However, that doesn't stop black metal fans making dumbass comments.
@Menstruation Cocktail Except they are Black Metal, your opinion is irrelevant...
