Ooh, Liz, you might well be right, but I wouldn’t be able to make it for the challenge as I don’t have any plain black scuba in my stash. My main fear is not having enough black ribbing, but I’m sure it will get made at some point xx
Hi Laura. Fabulous vlog. Love your ideas. And repurposing is even better. I love your fabrics. My favourite is the jacket idea. You did make me laugh, talking about your skirt. I’m loving watching the vlog tour. And thanks for mentioning me fir one of tomorrow’s vloggers. I’m loving taking part and making up free patterns. 😊
Thanks, Anne! Looking forward to watching your vlog today and catching up on the tour a bit more. I’ve been away for work so missed quite a few. It would be good to give the skirt fabric a new lease of life without the bathroom issues! 😂
That’s exactly what I thought! I was looking for my lining fabric and then found the viscose and a light bulb went on in my head! Thanks for commenting!
Some lovely ideas there Laura. I love the wainscoted with the what Beck sews collab fabric for the lining and probable the back panel if you have enough The pencil skirt fabric is divine and would make a gorgeous bomber jacket. That would be my top choice 😍😍😍
Thank you Julie! I wanted to make them all - now I have the ribbing the bomber jacket will definitely happen. I'd wondered about the collaboration fabric for the back of the waistcoat but not sure I'd have enough xx
Thank you so much for mentioning craftworld! I found them looking for a free pattern just yesterday. And so far you’re the only vlogger that has mentioned them (that I can remember) I do like the Maison Fauve Pompom Waistcoat 😃 Also love the idea of repurposing fabric. thanks for all the great ideas
I think someone else might have mentioned them too but can't remember who. They do look to be a great resource. So glad you liked the vlog and thank you for watching.
Hi Laura, I met you at the Sewing for Pleasure last week, your vlog is great with some lovely patterns. The bomber jacket will look brilliant in that Scuba. I’ve made a couple of tops for Sewing Yellow for Endo that will also do for sew frugal as well. Hopefully see you in April at the Southern sewcial 😊
Hi Angela! Yes, it was lovely to meet you and I’m all booked in for the April Sewcial so looking forward to having a longer chat with you then. Thanks for stopping by and watching my vlog, glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you! I've got loads of inspiration from other vloggers on the tour too - it makes me wonder why we ever buy patterns but I guess if we didn't there would be no free patterns to incentivise us to buy from the same designer.
Such a lovely selection of fabrics and patterns - I think the Solange blouse is really beautiful, I'd never heard of it before! Really enjoyed your vlog and looking forward to more videos :) x

Love the look of the tianas closet jacket Laura & the fabric to go with it👍 Look forward to seeing what you make 🤗
Thanks Sam! There’s a lot of love for the jacket in the comments, and I really like the look of it too! Thank you for running this challenge again xx
I'd make the bomber jacket with that fabulous scuba but I think I'd look for a plain black for the sleeves.

I think that red viscose remnant would be a good choice as lining for the wool waistcoats. It shall really lift the whole feel.love it

Very good choices! I have a shirt made up for the challenge but I am getting lots of ideas for sewing throughout the coming year.
