- This week, Cadence Fishing TV heads to the prolific Gawsworth Fishery near Macclesfield. Fishing on the Wall Pool, James uses simple waggler tactics to catch a mixed bag including roach, skimmers, rudd, hybrids, ide, chub and crucian carp. James explains his top tips and tactics for fishing the waggler at depth when targeting fish on the bottom and shallow when fish are feeding up in the water. James was using the Cadence CR10 13ft #2 and #3 Match Rod coupled with the Cadence CS7 3000 and 4000 reels.

Great vid James. Very nice rods and reels to match. I’ve watched loads of vids on float fishing and half way even less turned them off even by some known fisherman, but when you do them they are more interesting and very watchable. So great work James.

Great video. 0.17 does not seem right for 3lb line though?
Hi Richard, I was using 3.4lb Pro Gold line and confirm it has a diameter of 0.17mm. Pro Gold is an older brand that typically underestimates the breaking strain (like maxima and bayer). Most modern lines over estimate the breaking strain! That’s why I prefer to state the diameter of the line, it’s a far more accurate (when measured correctly!). Cheers James

Sadly the owner stopped fishing from the grass bank,its not the same anymore off the concrete pegs. I will not fish there again.

david mills as a junior I am annoyed not to be able to fish wall pool, but I understand it, many seniors just want to have a nice day of traditional fishing, without juniors making a load of noise, carp fishermen slinging 5oz leads into the lake with bite alarms screaming off. Goose green is nowhere near the fishery it once was, it is overrun by chavs who have huge carp rods out to fish a 1 acre lake and doesn’t have the traditional feel and tranquility of gawsworth.
david mills there are many lakes at gawsworth which facilitate perfectly for youngsters, the canal and spring bank pool make for a fun days fishing. I don’t see how you can complain about the rule of no juniors on one of the ponds when he is just trying to make his fishery attractive to all kinds of anglers.
