This past week, my grandfather fell, developed a brain hemorrhage, and got put on life support for a few days until we let him pass. I left his funeral with cold chills and ended up getting super sick. It also happened to be the week I was supposed to figure out IPv4 addressing and subnetting for class. This week, we're supposed to be reading IPv6 addressing. So I'm already lagging. Our professor essentially threw Cisco netacad at us and packet tracer and called it good. I knew the concepts up until this video, which is such a help. I've had a disconnect until you explained the 2^(# of zeros). Also, I love the analogies. I mentally apply analogies to every concept I learn, and it's super helpful. So thanks!

I have to say, your way of explaining things, of interacting with the concepts and just overall energy you give in these videos really helped me understanding some of the notions I was struggling with. I don't know if it's because I've been thinking about the same thing for 3 days with different points of view or if it's because your video has such a simple explanation base that makes you understand the content the first time. I think there may have been some confusion. Subnetting involves extending the network prefix portion of an IP address to create smaller subnets. For example, dividing a single /24 block into two equal /25 blocks within the initial range would be an example of subnetting.
