Brutal Obsession was definitely lack luster to me but the series is definitely worth continuing although Steel’s story was tough for I think the series is really good

I do think I’ll carry on and if I really don’t think it’s for me I think I’ll know by book 2 or 3 but I’m hoping it was just Violet and Greysons characters that I just didn’t like as opposed to the author! We’ll see next year ❤️‍🔥

I'm enjoying watching your videos about dark romance, but I myself have read just Haunting Adeline (both parts) and now I'm reading Lights out. I'm trying to figure out what exactly "dark romance" means lol (and if the themes in both those books I mentioned is what "dark romance" is in every single this sub-genre book).
Anyway, I like your content! I'm quite new subscriber and you are one of my greatest finds this year on YT:)

@@agniceberg thank you 🥹 I would consider both dark romance! But one’s a dark comedy and the other isn’t! There’s so many different sub genres these days even I get confused! Haha

Have you read the Legacy of Gods series by Rina Kent? THAT series and The Ravenhood series by Kate Stewart were my favorite reads of this year....and all of the books I've read from Penelope Douglas (I can't believe you didn't like "Bully"!) 😅....I'm glad I found your channel because I am a dark romance junkie so, it's interesting to hear your thoughts about those kinds of books, and I am always looking for more recommendations 🙂

    Here's mine (TL: DR):
Disappointing reads: Little stranger by Leigh Rivers (I lost faith in dark romance after reading this one. I only read it because it was short), Brutal obsession by S. Massery (Boring and bland af. Only finished it because Teddy Hamilton was narrating it. But the 3rd book wasn't bad), King of greed by Ana Huang (Very bland read compared to all her other books)
Underhyped reads: None. I only read the 'hypes' and 'overhyped' ones.
Overhyped reads: Shatter me book 1 (Listen to me first! Warner is very interesting. Juliette was meh, even Adam. I heard the series gets better as we go on, so I'll do just that), Powerless series(I liked it, but majority of it was very predictable except the cliffhanger at the end of Reckless), Iron flame (First book was great. I tuned out many scenes of Iron flame out of frustration for the miscommunication trope), Sweetest oblivion by Danielle lori (I kinda....maybe...sorta...fell asleep after reading 60percent of this book. Then when I woke up, the audiobook was complete. Hey, at least I finished it..), Neon gods (For people claiming how spicy it is...I disagree. I've read much better spice but the story was good)
Book that surprised me: Exodus by Kate stewart (The book made me cry...and cry...and...cry again...then I cried again...even at the end I cried from happiness), Butcher and blackbird (Thank god I read this book because it was on my tbr ever since I was born. Honestly, the best romcom I've read. It was very freaking cute! Also one of the best audiobooks I've ever listened to. The Ravenhood series audiobook coming to a close 2nd)
Best Book couple: Thatcher x Lyra (The Blood we crave duet), Sloane x Rowan (Butcher and Blackbird), Nico x Brandon (God of fury), Josh x Aly (Lights out), Lance x Darcy and Tori x Darius (Zodiac academy), Violet x Xaden (Fourth wing), Kai x Paedyn (Powerless)
Fav main characters: Lyra, Thatcher, Rook (Hollow boys series), Will and Damon (the Devil's night), Dominic and Tobias (the Ravenhood series), Zade (Haunting Addie), Jeremy and Nicolai (God of wrath and fury), Sloane and Rowan (butcher and blackbird), Lance, Darius, Darcy and Tory (Zodiac academy), Kai (Powerless), Xaden (fourth wing)
Fav new author: Monty Jay, Kate stewart and Navessa allen
Saddest book: Nothing compares to Exodus by Kate Stewart for me. I had to take moments just to cry for this one. And then there are the last books in the Zodiac Academy. I was crying and begging on my knees to stop, so I can finish the god damn series and move on with my life. Does it have to be 1000+ pages long?
Frustrating read: Iron flame (miscommunication shit), Zodiac academy: the last few books (for being longer than a bible and xavier's story....who care's about fucking xavier?)
The spiciest book I've ever read: Entangled by Rebecca Quinn (holy shit! this audiobook killed me and my soul for being too spicy)

Exodus was absolutely amazing that book has stayed with me for 2 years 💖 love this list!

Also completely with you about brutal obsession, maybe the audio would’ve helped me finish it but I just couldn’t carry on haha!
