Never got why this game got a negative response. A 3rd person shooter than fluidly mixes tactical strategy set in 1960's with that alien b-movie style that goes in depth? The game was awesome and give it an 8.7 out of 10. Only negative thing I could pick out is not have a mission select option instead of reloading old saves.
The thing that i really like about Derek is that when he says bad things about a game he at least gives a good explanation why he thinks those things and doesnt just keep saying it sucks like reviewers from other channels

When it was first shown off it was like another FPS game. People were begging for another turn-based game at the time and the recent turn based one wasn't shown off yet either and what they showed off didn't even look like it was related to the original X-Com games, like they were attaching some famous name onto it to sucker in fans who were nostalgic for the series. It felt like another DmC like reboot except this time the developers listened I guess.
That all being said the FPS game would have probably been way better, as long as they reworked the plot so it wasn't so much a reboot and reimagining of the series (I think that's what they were doing at first which is why people got super angry) and a prequel like this.

Said the same thing you hear everywhere else, but didn't back up your lack of polish with concrete examples. to me it looks like you played a little and then just quoted the common ground of several reviews without having your own view. 5min review with you loving to hear yourself talk again and little substance. it is a gcr undertow. I guess you did nothing wrong, it is just the concept of this channel.
Personally it is not good but not bad neighter, I just dislike the unrealistic story and not so interesting characters and unreasonable recyceled game mechanics, personally I wished the game to be turnbased and have more stealthy, and cover up approach. Where you are an agent that is collecting clues around the world(instead of reaserch and try to make sense of different things by investigating) and try to keep it from the public. That there is aliens tryng to infiltrate the human society. But no Instead we get an allout war that is succefully keept in the dark. This setting is putting the unrealistic on overdrive, on top of it all why is it always USA who saves the day. The most annoying thing is that the gameplay has some copied formulas that remind me of mass effect, and it doesn´t fit with the theme of Xcom and end up just ruining the game in some aspect. Like the operatives suddenly get magical abilities to lift enemies like singularity in masseffect and earth friendly goos to fight on your side and automated turrets, this is immersion breaking since it doesn´t explain how humans aquiered these abilities. But in the end I enjoyed the game but is a huge wasted potential and the devs just flushed it down the toilet
I seem butthurt because I have seen 9 game reviews by CGUndertow over the span of 1 year. I have liked all his reviews. IMO he is the best game reviewer on youtube- yet without fail every video of his has trolls- maybe they are only 2 trolls with multiple accounts hating on him- but I held my tongue for a year now not saying anything and finally exploded on you. I really hate his low-life trolls telling him that he sucks and gives bad reviews when this is not true- he is actually really good at what he does and does not get paid for it so grow the F up and appreciate it or stfu DontWorry I'llWait

Zeitgeist is more of a general feel for the cultural climate of an era (early 60s) than a "space ghost".

It's a shooter, sure, but I'd say it has a unique theme and setting.
I haven't seen it in other tactical third person shooters.
