The producers and writers realized that Nelson needed a confidante. There were always billions of other people for him to hide Jeannie from. The comic potential of self-indulging, horny Healy knowing of Jeannie and her powers gave them many good episodes. This was a very smart move in the storyline.
Well, to make a long story short, Roger's greed comes to the surface. He steals Jeannie's bottle- with her inside- and proceeds to make himself VERY affluent. Tony eventually discovers Jeannie had blinked up a mansion for Roger- with very sexy French, Italian and Swedish maids at his beck and call- and a big swimming pool. Tony has to trick him into returning Jeannie and her bottle to him........but that's for you to find out HOW. 😉
When I was little I use to blink and hoped my chores would get done. Or blink and hope a mean kid at school ( bcuz they were around then also) would disappear 🧞♀️
During the first season, the show's primary sponsor was Liggett & Myers [L&M, Lark, Chesterfield King]. I believe they insisted that a cigarette be seen or mentioned in as many episodes as possible- but Larry had given up smoking, and would not "light up"......or appear in any "integrated" commercials for them at the end of the episode. Neither did Barbara.
Yes, Barbara and Sidney Sheldon confimed the fact he'd start out by consuming a bottle of champagne in his dressing room before the day's filming began. Amazingly, that *NEVER* affecting his acting abilities, or staying "sober" before the cameras.
Actually, the first episode filmed after her pregnancy was "Where'd You Go-Go?" (in October 1965), telecast on December 4, 1965. Sidney Sheldon decided to expand Bill Daily's presence in the series by having Roger meet Jeannie in that episode- yet he's unaware of her being a genie. For the next few episodes, he tries to date her........and in this episode, he accidentally discovers what she really is.
1:35 Twenty minutes! Is he kidding? Get in his car, drive to NASA through traffic, get out of his car at the NASA parking lot, walk into the building, go to the office, turn over the papers and some small talk, and then reverse it all to get back. All in twenty minutes? I couldn't go to the grocery store which is only two miles away to buy a loaf of bread and come back in twenty minutes.
I like the laugh track much better, it adds atmosphere. The German dubbed one lacks emotion, the voice actors don't react with the right emotions, even in scenes with surprise or shouting they are practically just talking.
They were never consistent about whether Jeannie was subject to the bottle's movements while inside. What was going on in there when the bottle was on its side for 2000 years, or as she made it roll into Nelson's flight bag? But, comedy entertainment first, so I'm OK with it.
@@SDK-im8sl The shows continuity is odd given how at one point genie says she was imprisoned in the bottle for 2 thousand yrs yet apparently was acquainted with Marco Polo and Nostradamus
No, he wasn't a "bad friend". He was just being greedy {and he admitted that to Tony at the end of "How Lucky Can You Get?", when he tried to win at the roulette tables in Reno with Jeannie's help, only she causes the dice to turn up "thirteen").
I will never stop loving this show. Too funny ❤
Roger finding out about Jeanie is one the best episodes, a turning point of the show.
A great one for sure. I bought the entire 139 episode's on amazon for 17 bucks. Can't beat that.
@@billyvon666 Well I bought the series DVD for good price on Amazon

3:07 A wonderful glassy-eyed fall by Bill Daily!
How i love this show & all its cast.
Man Genie is so dam GORGEOUS beyond beautiful.
I’d been waiting to see that for a long time. Would love to see the rest of the episode. Thanks.

you should check Tubi out, they have the first 3 seasons
Roger con su inocencia es un personaje muy divertido en la serie, morí de la risa con este episodio 🤣🤣🤣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Jeannie every teenager loved her so pretty
When Tony left Roger there alone with JeannieI just knew that something would happen!
When I was little I use to blink and hoped my chores would get done. Or blink and hope a mean kid at school ( bcuz they were around then also) would disappear 🧞♀️
Originally telecast on January 15, 1966. Bill Davenport wrote the first draft script; Sidney Sheldon "polished" the final version.
Imagine how different this show would be if Roger found the bottle/ Jeannie on the beach?
Tony just didnt take full advantage of the situation.
He always wears a tie even home.
You mean a necktie.
Not just that but his dress coat too??? My father was in the Air Force for 22yrs. He never wore his dress coat around the house - Only at the office.
Sometimes, Tony dressed casually around the house. But in this scene, he was summoned to the base, so he had to be in full uniform.
Ahhhh, where's the rest? Lol. Tease!
Lol 😆🤣Roger 😆🤣
I Love This So Much ❤️
Cigarettes in an ash tray, but I don't think we ever saw Tony smoking, did we?
My first thought exactly. Must’ve belonged to the crew.

@@fromthesidelines Bless both of them for that! 🙏🥰
@@nancyhowell4505 Yes but Larry was an alcoholic. He would drink dozens of bottles of champagne a day! He eventually needed a liver transplant.

Roger finding out about Jeannie I mean Tony's genie in a bottle. Wait until Tony is shocked when he finds out that Roger found out about her.
He's even more shocked after Roger sneaks Jeannie (inside her bottle) out of his house without telling him. 😉
If someone watched the complete episode coul.realize that Roger has been dishonest and didn't act like a true friend....
Tony wasn't a true friend when he didn't tell Roger that Jeannie was a genie.
@@dreamquesttv That's not fair. He tried to tell him in the first episode. But no one would believe him.
I think this was the 1st episode shown after Barbara Eden had her baby, don't know if it was produced afterwards.

Her son was born in late August - amazing (to me) how great she looks less than 2 months later.
@@windwardhaven She probably looked great even while she was giving birth.
Barbara has *always* kept in shape. She exercises regularly.
This is one of my favorite episodes though if I were Tony I would never be friends with Roger again.
Great
2:46 he rubbed it with two fingers and that's how he made her came...out
Please upload in hindi also 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
This is great, but since when does wind make you sneeze?
When it blows dust around I guess…

Yeah, but that’s because you have a crush on the cashier...
Fewer people and cars back then, so less traffic and fewer traffic lights.
And security checkpoints

Should Tony slam that bottle down like that?

Just wondering where her hands are in the thumbnail.
