Public Storage is the best album in 2021 in my opinion.
I agree
for real
I can't wait to see her live. I know it's going to be magical.
arguably the best track of the album, right next to keeper and aubade
This whole album has been getting me through the last of this year.
This "live" series from Hana Vu is really starting to grow on me. Maybe not purely live... but these renditions of the songs from Public Storage have a directness about them, and Hana Vu's remarkable vocals are always front and center (as they should be). These videos also establish how her songs (sometimes dismissively referred to as "bedroom pop") are true rockers: yes, maybe the burn is slow; but the heat is there. Such a singular talent.
Stunning. Thanks so much for this and this wonderful album. Record of the year that completely took me by surprise.
I had a ticket for her Montreal show but couldn't make it happen. I was planning on driving from Nova Scotia and had a room booked, but ya da ya da family shit got in the way. I sent a good friend to my place, and she didn't know Hana Vu, but she watched and very much enjoyed the opening performer - Babebee - who was so awesome, and I love her music. Funny thing, my friend sent me a video from Babebee telling me she was sorry I didn't make it. And it was kind and cool of her to get that video, and Babebee was so sweet. And then my friend left! And missed Hanu Vu. That killed me. She didn't realize and thought Babebee was Hana. (you may have gathered that by now). But I think, you know, I couldn't be there by proxy. Hana's art has been a powerful part of my life during a tough couple of months. I am so grateful that she is expressing her life through music; it has made my life more bearable. Thank you, Hana Vu.
I hate to admit i just discovered this beautiful music today when it seems to be part of my soul. I'm so thankful i did and look forward to the new album. Absolutely beautiful and thought provoking.
I just discovered her as well. I am captivated by her voice. This song in particular does something to me. It feels like magic.
I have the new album on repeat since release and that is very rare indeed these days
Good luck Hana👍

Lyrics:
Everyone's champion
Do you believe in failure?
Because I don't think that I do
Here's my receipt
Here's all my records, I'll show you
Everything that I've got to prove
Nothing comes easy
Do you believe in family?
Because I don't think that I do
Here are my bruises
All my dents and my fuses
Everything that I've got to prove
But I don't really care now
No, I don't really care now
Well, that's what I'll say
Who knows if it's true
I don't think that I
Even know that I do
Every day is the weekend
'Cause I'm vain and conceited
Oh, there's nothing that I can't say
Tomorrow is evil
And so are the people
Who say that they're not the same
But I don't really care to
Be here if I don't have to
And that's what I'll say
Who knows if it's true
I don't think that I
Even know what to do
And that's what I'll say
When I'm talking to you
Maybe you feel the same
I don't care if you do
Everyone's champion
Do you believe in magic?
Because I don't think that I do
Here's my receipt
Here's all my records, I'll show you
Everything that I've got to prove
That voice, that power! It is that majestic, uniquely impressive, sonically beautiful voice that immediately captures your attention. It makes one thankful to be witness to such a great talent. Outstanding. As always.
