Such clear audio of the roar! Good lord though, I remember this day. Was in high school up in north central IN and heard about this one after it ripped through. You guys were v e r y fortunate it was that close and missed... I assume all you ended up with was some hail damage.
Your husband did a fine job. No "oh my god", or "f**%", or screaming with glee as the tornado destroys property over and over. He allowed us to hear the passing storm, panned with a steady hand, and kept his head and stood his ground. I am not sure what I would say if I were to film a storm like this, but, your husband has shown me the perfect way to do it.
I am a professional storm spotter you have a great video here, good shot and you can hear the roar in the wind as the tornado passes, plus some large hail. That was not far from your house glad your safe.
I lost my house on this day to this line of storms so I'm always looking for videos of this day and this absolute best I have seen! I dont know how the person who took this wasnt freaking out, lol! Great video and I hope you guys are ok.
Why would 9 people dislike this, like were they expecting a detailed narration by the videographer ? Or maybe a Steve Irvin-type live explanation on how tornadoes are formed
Most of the time hail will be observed to the North of where the tornado tracks, in this video the camera is looking West or Southwest so the funnel passed just South of the location of the camera, as the funnel appears to be moving away the camera location is eithor on the North or Northeast side of the storm thats where the hail shaft was with this storm so the hail fell as the funnel was moving further away.
LouisvilleTorn8o hail often falls with the hook echo, which is where precipitation is wrapped around the back side of the mesocyclone/tornadic circulation, hail often falls in that area, large hail is hard to keep suspended in the up draft because it's heavy so it can fall around the mesocyclone
Hi +Stacey Torres. I hope you are well. I work for a TV company and we are making a documentary series about wild and extreme weather that is broadcast around the world. Can we use some of your footage with a credit to you or your husband of course? He did a great job! Can we chat over email? I am on samanthaappleby@titlerole.co.uk many thanks, Sam

If you listen carefully, you can hear a thunder clap mixing with the roar along with frogs peeping
@Wicked Witch Of The West there is another video he recorded while it was forming

Nice video of a tree.

Dude that tornado is bigger then a 70 feet tall giraffe
That thing so close how on earth did you stay so calm ?
Filmer wasnt a screaming pansy thats how
@@JimHerbertOutdoors very rude and unnecessary comment.
@tony bressie
I don't know...I don't live in a tornado state, but I've heard they can change direction in a minute.
I would have loved to be there.
Im from Louisville and i chased this tornado and it was a beast
Wow... that is so close and you are so calm...
HOW DO PEOPLE RECORD TORNADOES THAT CLOSE?!? I would've passed out...no joke.
Too close for comfort.....looks like the picture of the F5 that hit Xenia in 1974......that subdivision looks so much like Arrowhead.
Up close and personal
I'm confused...I thought that the tornado was on the backside of the storm. Why does the hail come after the tornado passes?
