I took my yz85 to get a frame swap everything went good but while I was test riding it my throttle got stuck later i realized that the mechanic had broke my carburetor slide vale and he also wanted $50 for a few extra bolts he put on that doesn’t even cost $10 be careful with who you trust with your bikes 💯
Check the motor and frame serial numbers to see if they match!! If they don’t, someone snagged the engine out and “threw a hunk of junk” in!!

I have a LTZ400 the needs the Vee touch, bought it in boxes, throwing it together with a 434 big bore kit, pipe and header, so it'll need some jetting and tuning, have a brute force 750 that needs some love too

Shifter just needs adjuted. They took the stock linkage off th raptor and put an after market shifter on it. Typical raptor problem
I used to work on dirtbikes when I was young. I learned a whole lot about engines and how they worked when I was only 10. I had a Honda xr75 I fixed with a carb float valve, and then a kx 80 that didn't have a C.D.I. box... Took 1 off an older 2 strock 80 cc bike that was junk, slapped that bad boy on there, and she ran like a... well, she ran like shit, and the throttle would stick! Lol I rigged a little rope around the spark plug in case we had a run off... saved my but a few times! Not before we found out, though. My brother was riding on a trail between 2 neighborhoods ( In NVA ) and shit blasted off in like 3rd gear, he dumped it to his left and got pretty lucky to roll out of it I guess, cause he was ok after? Don't really remember, but these were some of the best times in my life, working on dirtbikes as a kid! I can still remember the smell of the bikes. Th kx I later found out had the lower skirt of the piston broken off and had been rebuilt with 1 piston ring and 1 was missing. Don't even remember what ended up happening to that bike... 1 day when I make a UA-cam about all my wild days ill.twll the story of when I stole a wheel and tire for that kx80 from a gang member whose dad was a cop and someone seen me, or probably just knew/assumed it was me because I bought the dirtbike from him for 20 dollars and some fake Okleys sunglasses the week before!!! This is a complete BS story. No mechanic took this ATV apart for those reasons this is definitely a job of a couple kids that have no clue what they're doing, thinking they're going to rebuild the whole thing and then just not knowing anything at all. 100%. Somebody started to take this whole thing apart thinking they were going to rebuild it he even said it that he was going to change out the frame and everything $1,800 he got ripped off an '04 raptor. You can buy one in great condition for 1800 bucks

Looks like everything is there. Should have paid 1000 bucks for it tho. Super easy bikes to work on just gotta keep up on the maintenance fr. Only things tha suck is the oil pick up on these is only accessible if you pull clutch basket and and you can only clean it by shooting cleaner in backwards. These lose oil pressure very easily. Big problem. And the 01 gears didnt have oil gallery holes. Upgrade the gears. Split cases and clean oil pick up. New oil pump and they will last. Nobody changes there oil and wonder why there old ass raptor dies. Ill make video of mine
