How to Make Mashed Potatoes at Home | Creamy Mashed Potatoes Recipe with Bacon

Great things to add to mashed potatoes are crispy bacon, butter and lots of cream. What to add to mashed potatoes for flavor is garlic, salt and pepper. You can also make it with sour cream or cream cheese for extra flavor. This is way better than instant mashed potatoes you buy from the grocery store. Homemade will always better than store bought! Recipe Ingredients:
400g Potatoes
3 Cloves Garlic
60g Bacon
20g Unsalted Butter
1tsp Salt
1tsp Black Pepper
100ml Heavy Cream
Chives for Garnish
Instructions:
1. Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into large chunks. Put them into a pot and cover cold water to the top. Boil it on medium high heat for around 12 - 15 minutes. While it's boiling, prep the other ingredients.
2. Crush garlic and cut the bacon into small chunks.
3. On medium high heat, add the bacon into your pan. Fry until bacon is golden brown then add in your crushed garlic. Remove from pan once all brown and bacon is crispy.
4. Check on your potatoes, when you are able to easily stick a fork in the middle, then it is ready. Drain your potatoes, put them back into the same pot and mash them.
5. Add in butter, cream, salt and pepper. With a spatula, keep mixing the mashed potato until its creamy. Add in the fried bacon and garlic, gently fold them into the mashed potato. Remove from stove.
6. Plate your mashed potatoes, add extra butter on top and garnish with chives.
