whole arm about to fall off
Same thing I said in my comment. 😂😂😂
😂😂
😂😂 I remember working Home health as a fairly new nurse, did patient's bp manually, apparently the patient didn't believe me, she took out her digital and got the exact same numbers. I was nervous as heck . I think God was watching over me, can't believe it till this day. I was so relieved. 😂😂
At the end of the process, this patient's arm will fall from the shoulder and drop on the floor.😂 To all the patients that I took care of in nursing school: Thanks for your patience.❤
In 1971 when we was learning to take BP s, my classmate said to the teacher , this man's BP is 124 over 86- give or take a few points. 😅
😂😂😂 "Let's see if we can find the réal machine for taking your blood pressure", I love it...😂😂😂GOLD.
Don’t mind the blue arm, it’s part of the process. 😂😂😅
Trust the process
When I started nursing the machines were still considered less accurate than a manual reading. My instructor had a stethoscope with two sets of aírala so she could listen with us. We had to demonstrate proficiency on all our nursing skills in the lab before we were turned loose on patients.
This hurts because there are so many RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and MAs who can't do a manual pressure. I'm so happy in my office we only do manual
Blake is extremely gifted. I won't give away how he's holding the stethoscope in place.
🤣🤣🤣 I’m a nursing student and I was trying to count respirations and the family member kept asking questions while I was counting lol and I was like sorry ma’am I’m trying to count right now lol
Normally my method is the "getting ready" or "getting ready to leave" whoops my pockets are too small...ah beans need to make sure the sink is clear...alright 30 seconds is up time to bounce
You'll have an easier time hearing if you actually use the stethoscope and don't just let it hang! 😂
This is so funny! Awesome. I like how he keeps smiling to the patient! This is so great! Can you remember 120? LOL
Not let me go get the real blood pressure machine 😂. Nurse life
My anxiety is real. Bless the machines 😢
I’m on my first semester of nursing school and I aways forget the systolic number 😂😂😂 next I will ask my patient to remember for me… thanks for the tip 😅😅
I love nurse Blake's expressions!😂
What gets me is I don't only use listening. That's mainly for systolic one, diastolic is easier as the needle will bounce if you do it correctly
😂😂 as a medical assistant to a family doctor, i was soooo happy with the digital ones.
When we were first learning manual BP way back in my Health Assessment lab, my partner inflated the cuff, deflated, inflated, deflated, inflated, and held it there, staring at the gauge for so long my arm down to the tips of my fingers felt like they were being pricked with needles 😂 in my head I was just like, "she's learning, give her just a little more time, it's ok, she'll deflate it soon!" she ended up deflating it after a LONG 30 seconds and getting our prof to come in and help her on my other arm thank goodness 🤣🤣
A Florida patient will kick you out in under a minute if you give a hint you don't know what you are doing or nervous. 😂
Course it’s 120/80 😂
😂😂😂
Magic Numbers in nursing school.😂😂
😂😅😂😅 So true! I'm in an LPN to RN bridge program right now. None of us can believe we have to do manual checks and have a BP cuff! I act like this whenever I have to get one of these out at my job as it is. Getting it checked off for skills lab is going to be a nightmare again.
Having trouble hearing what? The stethoscope bell is clearly just hanging there 😂
soo true...😂 ahh the memories lol
Nurse Blake just woke up from a nap???😂😂😂
Real pressure machine!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Glad I’m not the only one whew 😅
We had VS check offs today and pretty much this was all of us! 😅
That hiss @0:43 kills me.
Can you please do one on doing a blood draw,or placing a catheter with the Tourniquet staying in place without beeing loosen up...😂😂😂😘
Love it I remember so well learning to take a manual BP
from an nursing instructor's perspective, the student did not hold the diaphram to the brachial artery, repumped the cuff to get the the SBP and DBP, kept the cuff pump up-casuing tingling in the armthe bed should have been higher. But Blake, you so like a nursing student doing a b/p on a client-so sweet and brings back many memories of teaching
I like taking manual BP. I hate the machines. 😆
Manual BP is more accurate.
Same!
I'm an CMA student and this is how it is learning how to do blood pressure😅😂
Funny ! We don’t learn to do it in France, we always use machines. Maybe it’s more interesting to do it manually
Absolutely hilarious! While the Charge Nurse by now is behind and moved onto to the next patient lol
YOu had me cackling!!! Nurse BLake when are you going to do lectures with Simple Nursing crew???
This is exactly me 😂😂😂
I teach health assessment and I 😂. Ty!
Nailed it !!!!!
Lolllll omg i remember this. So accurate 😅
My nursing instructor would snatch that gum out of his mouth!! I empathize with manual BP's in nursing school. I did it 20+ years ago. 😅
try doing it in a moving ambulance.
I am cracking up b/c I did this in clinical and I know I was the worse! I am like where is the automatic bp machine please lol
Lol😂😂😂😂 exactly what I’m going through now
That's how I learned when I was a CNA many years ago
Dear god I feel this 😂😂
The awkwardness is real
This was definitely me!! 😅
I still do that! Lol im an RN OVER 15: YEARS LOL
Lol!!! Did it this way for years and years. Oops - just gave away my age. 😂😂😂
😂 I feel for them…but also, sensory processing disorder would dieeeee. They still can’t even do an automatic one if I’m having a bad day
Accurate as heck
I'm a Nurse Educator- throw that gum O.U.T ASAP..NOT IN MY CLINICAL 😅😂😅😮😊 LOVE LOVE LOVE Your videos
It's better than having stank breath when speaking to patients.
Literally me😂😂😂
Hang in there. You will get better at doing it.
I'm an MA student. Learning manual bp is a struggle bus.
Just keep doing it. Like anything else, it's a learned process.
God bless the machine manufacturers.
The "real" blood pressure machine. 😮 oh, no.
“Unpopular” opinion amongst the lazy ones- I’m willing to stand there for an extra 5-10 to retake respirations, pulse, or blood pressure if I don’t think I got it correctly the first time 🤷🏻♀️ why is it a thing some people just “input 16 or 18 an call it good” 😅 I swear I was told that by someone on my orientation I’m not kidding 🫣
One of the float techs from surgery came to respiratory floor and put 24 for a kid who previously was breathing 60s
Lol lol lol
Always wait to do it 2 minutes in between so they don't faint💯
Yes, plz go get the real (automatics electric) Bp cuff; that one is more friendlier & accurate 🧐.
❤😂
Oh dear 😂😂
Lmfao 😂
Do not check bp and o2 on the same arm flamer
Clinicals 💯
Oh nooo that is me.
Blaake,I can not with you!..😂
Lol I work in critical care and take BPs every day and still act like this 😂 Usually I’m just nervous bc everyone’s BPs are super low or high and never normal
😂😂😂
Did it once lol
That made me uncomfortable. Nurse Blake, you are great at awkward humor like Steve Carrell.
nursing is so hard....😥😥😥😥
120/80?
😂🤣😂
😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦♀️🤦♀️
😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Palpate the brachial first then place the bell!
Why is he wearing a stethoscope?
😂😅 me
💀💀
😅😅😅
I’m 17 and a CNA learning BP was really fun and this made me cringe so bad 😭😭 it’s not even hard they so overreact
Spoken like a true 17-year-old.
@@GagaDecoded spoken like a true adult baby with no shame
Super cringy
I absolutely despise when students treat patients as guinea pigs. No your limits and ask for help. Don't torture the patients. Imagine if that patient were you or a family member.
Actually most people love having students because they get way more attention and care
Nobody is a “guinea pig” lol it’s just a blood pressure not an experimental cancer treatment 🙄
@@violetterobinson6542 Maybe, but don't torture them if you don't know what you're doing. Ask for help.
@@1Charioteer fair enough just remember this is an over the top caricature of how students might feel the first time thats why its so comical. A manual BP, it’s certainly not rocket science and you practice a lot on each other before doing it in the hospital :)
😂😂
