This definitely speaks to a core problem within the field of nursing and the related institutional training methods. Extreme, prolonged psychological distress isn’t a learning tool. It’s at the root of the horizontal and vertical violence that has plagued Nursing at least since the 1960’s. Just like the “Nurses Support Their Young” ad campaign encourages us to do, please remember (before replying) that custom is never justification for continuation in the nursing profession.

Ours was at the Anaheim convention center so the nights before ,while we were studying in the hotel, we popped outside to watch the Disneyland fireworks....... Helped to relieve the stress! Now I hear it's done on a computer in a couple of hours or so?????? Geez!
SO much respect. And it wasn’t just written exams, clinical skills,too. I came in right at the beginning of the NCLEX Was also an instructor- all we really cared about was critical thinking skills. Common sense is so uncommon!

Yes my exams were 2 days long in NYC. After the second day we went for a drink!
