That's some nice moose hunting! Trent's was perfect for eating. Good freezer filler. He got lucky to see 3 right together last day of the season. Trish's moose was huge. Nice shot in all that cover. Were they firing high shoulder shots? What's the best shot to take down a moose? I live on Vancouver Island now. No moose here but nice size Roosevelt Elk. Black Tail Deer, Cougar, Bear, wolves etc. Only allowed to shoot bucks with a rifle but allowed to shoot does with shotgun in certain areas. It's only luck to see a buck on the logging roads. They hide in thick woods and brush. Going hunting this weekend .
Yes a 30/30 is an under power gun for hunting moose as their effective range is about 200 yds , glad you had a close shot . My uncle shot a moose that was not this big , about 50yds , 1 behind the right front leg , it turned 1 more other side, ran 50 yds & stopped then 1 to the head just below the ears to finish , none of the bullets exited . Used the same ammo he hunted deer with . Looked like Trish was carrying an auto , would have been better in 30/06 , autos kick less than bolts as part to the powder is side to work the action . I am sure she could have handled such . Good job , great video !
I am a meat harvester/ freezer hunter myself. I have killed trophy class deer and elk. But... "you can't eat antlers " young ones taste better and are easier to pack🤙
Funny, here in Alaska they want all spike forks gone because they are the weak ones in genetics. Do some moose research versus spouting off what you don’t know.
Amazes me that 'nice people' you might invite to dinner go into an unarmed animals' home and kill it with a long-range weapon. There are many courageous people in our world - these, not.
Beautiful scenery and great hunts what a combination . Thanks for sharing .

Yes it was high shoulder. I would have much rather a broad side behind the shoulder double lung shot. Thanks for watching!
Always fantastic videos

Great hunt as usual!! Good young tender one!!
Thanks for watching!
that's a shot angle i would have figured a 30/30 would have struggled with
On this one a follow up shot was required. In the excitement sometimes the cameraman forgets to hit the record button! 😄
@@HOTRhuntinontherock30/30 with good broadside shots are hard to beat as your videos prove

I think I’ve harvested 20 moose here in Alaska. We never refer to the points. Just the spread. Interesting how all regions are different

The peanut gallery should just eat their peanuts & be quite
Anyone that calls a 30/30 a long range rifle , is just showing the rest of us their total lack of knowledge!
