Paul we wish you all the very best with the weather - sometimes we get what we don't want but DO need... I am hoping to recipricate what you and Holly (Kids Afloat) do since my boys are gifting me their old gopros this Christmas so maybe I'll have something for you both to watch in 6 to 8 months. Nice video. 11:11 I've never seen anyone stand on a trailer front to back to launch a boat before lol usually a bow line longer than the trailer and a good push is enough lol
Paul, your use of Mike Vass's beautiful music is fabulous. I am hoping there might be more of Mike's music in the next video. Congratulations and best wishes from England, Phil
Always so nice to sail with Kate Louise, especially on a cold winter's day here in northern Japan. (Willing the season to pass quickly so I can get my wee folding Seahopper back onto the water... : (
Well in Sydney it's going to be a wet summer thanks to La Nina, so I'm keen to sail whenever I can. Thanks again for your continued support, Cheers Paul
Hi Paul, Looks like a great trip. We were down there a few weeks ago ( Parks not long ago re-opened the campgrounds and boat ramps after the floods back in March) Road to Violet Hill was re -graded as it was badly washed out before. You had a better run of winds than we did, had to leave Freshwater late one afternoon when a strong Westerly came in, and anchor near Cuttlers cottage. Then had to run from Shelley back to Violet hill at 9.30 pm after a strong Northerly made things a bit uncomfortable. Still a great trip, and like you, hardly saw another boat, very peaceful !
Yep I've been going up there for years ,it really is a beautiful place and we had a great time.Planning on going up there again between Jan 3-5, see you there cheers Paul
Wonderful video, and absolutely a special thanks to Mike Vass. The music was very nice. It is rumored that, to this day, Robert is still on Shelly Beach waiting for enough wind to return.
Ha Ha, he doesn't need much wind his Derwent Raider absolutely flies, in fact he struggles to keep it under control a bit like someone riding a wild horse. Thanks for watching cheers Paul
Myall Lakes looks absolutely beautiful, another great video Paul. I always look forward to your next instalment. I have an Iain Oughtred Shearwater that I hope to sail up there soon, so thanks for the tip about Violet Hill boat ramp. Are there toilet facilities at the camp grounds you stayed at?

Hi thanks for watching, I think but I'm not 100% sure that 'Raid' means a group of small boats travelling somewhere as in Vikings. It originated in Europe and is very popular in Scandanavia. Cheers Paul

In his book Roger Barnes describes how to use two anchors to moor off shore but at the same time retrieve your boat from the shore when you want to. @@andyjarman4958 Yep I had 2 anchors out the front and a stern line to a tree to pull myself back in but the wind direction didn't help. Luckily the predicted change never happened.
