My Duck Dog's First Retrieve

Had a good duck opener in the Mobile-Tensaw Delta. Warm, rainy weather is not my idea of good conditions for duck hunting, but we made it happen in a little wood duck hole. And Famous Amos finally got his first real retrieve after a rough teal season. For a not-quite-2-years-old pup, I think he's shaping up nicely.

Awesome! Best dog I ever had. So much respect and will to please. I shot two ducks and right before I sent him a gator got the duck. I never sent him and that was the last time we went hunting. He was so obedient and such a great friend. I still miss him 20 yrs later.
