Been skiing Stowe past few years. Went to Sugarbush this year for a change, with my friends. It is a special place.

My favorite ski area in the east (tied with Jay). Excellent vertical skiing (sorry, but Killington's numbers are inflated). Great variety of terrain, good snow, fantastic views (particularly from Lincoln Peak summit), and easy to get around. Lifts are good-- mostly high speed quads. Riding the Slide Brook Express both ways is worth the trip in and of itself, particularly on the return to Lincoln Peak with the phenomenal view. Only complaint is lift lines can get long at Lincoln Peak, but Mt. Ellen is a good option when it gets crowded. Highly recommend it.
