That's why they revealed the dad to be a marine and not a former accountant - it's to further intimidate these young men with the idea that he could very easily beat them up. A mother could be used in this sketch but it would use guilt and appeals to chivalry instead of intimidation.

Ah, see some might say one thing, and others another, the different opinions are very likely to be directly opposed, and so either side giving voice to their opinion is likely to start an argument.
Since my comment, however, no argument has begun, and opinions have been stated, so I suppose I'll say mine.
The line mentioned in the main comment is quite rude and offensive.
A perversion of the old and ludicrous manners suggestion(meaning, not a rule), "ladies first."
Granted, the use of first implies reciprocation, but it is certainly rude to ask to be pleasured without offering to pleasure the other party first.

I remembered a video Ali Dawah(UA-camr) did that is called "Ask Her Dads Number - Experiment" and the video is bit religiously and follows this plot twist. check it out maybe.

A couple of years later they did another MTV dating show sketch with John Cena as the host. Cecily, Beck, and Kyle were contestants on that one too, with Mikey Day filling out the cast in place of Taran Killam. Very different approach to the premise, it wasn't just a rehash of this sketch.

@@RatKeeperDude I am. Who was hotter? Victoria Jackson is the only one who comes close, but she played the dumb blond a bit too often for my taste. Lots of other very attractive female cast members, though realistically most in the pretty-girl-next-door category.
There have been some lovely ladies over the years, but CS is beautiful anyway, and in this skit, she cranks it up 1000%. I almost forget to laugh watching this because I am so focused on her.

sphinx onyx i have no acting talent, nor did i claim to...but of the three men, he didnt "become" the character....dont get me wrong he acted it well, but failed to capture the painful awkwardness of real life contestants of these types of reality shows like the other two characters did.

People are always bashing SNL, saying it's not funny anymore (not like it was back when *they* were in high school), but this sketch is solid as hell. It's not about some endlessly-reused stock character, nor is it all about laughing as the actors struggle not to break character. It's just *funny* and well done and I really enjoyed watching it. Lorne Michaels is a genius.
andyh027 I'm not disputing Lorne is a genius, but I don't know if credit goes to him for this skit.. more like the writers of SNL, who are invisible until they get airtime or a skit of theirs breaks the show.

Yeah, that's BS. It's still funny as hell. The difference is that back in the day, we only had SNL for Saturday night tv entertainment. Today we have many options. I stopped watching SNL in the late 90s because of the internet. I've returned to watching it online and I've laughed at today's SNL just as much as I used to. We changed, not SNL.

Kyle is so incredible at this character. He really explores the absolute limits of cringe. It’s so aware and meta but natural at the same time.
