    The rule of thumb with winches is that you need its rating to be 1.5 times what its going on like for this truck they need more then a 12k winch because it probably weights 9k, and if it can hold water which it most likely does it'll need a 14k winch or a 16.5ti winch

    Jesus why would you get something like that with a gasoline engine? probably gets 1 mile to the gallon downhill

    • @josephorst
      @josephorst 4 роки тому

      Way cheaper to buy and operate.

      Joseph Horst By that logic they should make a full size fire engines gas too

      Gas mileage is probably the last thing they’re worried about. At least with the big block gas, there’s nothing to worry about with emissions like modern Diesel engines.

      They can get more payload with a gas engine.

    it rides "like it has 4.88s" or it has 4.88s? why wouldn't you just say what the gear ratio is?

    I am no expert in fire trucks but I was wondering why nobody seems to put more than a 300 gallon water tank on these brush trucks? If you're running an F-450 you could haul a lot more water than 300 gallons and you could stay in the fight longer between refills.

    • @williamlumpkin7189
      @williamlumpkin7189 2 роки тому

      Lol not really,300 gallons of water 2500lbs+the equipment is a lot

      @@williamlumpkin7189 Well all I have is a one ton single tire gmc and I haul 425 gallons to livestock all the time with no trouble.

      We try to not put more then 400 gallons of water on a 2 ton truck. Especially if the truck has compartments and lots of xtras!

    So I guess Florida utilizes the tool box doors more as a sun shade rather than a desk or work bench and I’m sure there’s already plans for those boxes with a fabricator ready to throw up some shelves but if i sound crazy thinking that then I guess I’d sound insane to say the tool boxes are upside down and I’d prefer the doors as benches and be utilizing the 90 degree lip and 3” tray at the “bottom” of the box to hold at least 1 Tool inside as I’m picking up off the ground every time I open the box with the zero edge that meets the side of the rig.
    But now let’s think like a medic no let’s think like a Capt assessing risk no how about a Chief filling out injury report or wait think like a parent as that corner of coffee table and your kids in the den. How many guys over 5’7 are going to be coming around the back of that unit not paying attention and somebody has those boxes open and take their eye out? Blind corner just far enough towards the front to make your turn look up and YAMMO lots of reflections with the diamond STARS. Anyone in a hurry or just someone doing a training at the station. That’s a BEAUTIFUL RIG nice work guys! Sorry for my .02 cents but I’m dying to know why the tool boxes serve better purpose upside down while I cringe thinking about that first face that gets a scare from the new rig.

      Mark is 6’ 2” and can walk under it. Hope that helps the explanation of the height.

      @911RapidResponse  3 роки тому

      Also there is no way you could reach into the box or use it as a work bench unless you would be at least 6’ 6” tall
