    • @ronliebermann
      @ronliebermann 3 роки тому +25

      @@pokechannel9758 Yes, you can re-use old tires. First of all, they can be dissolved into a liquid with heat and pressure. That liquid can be blended with synthetic rubber to make new tires. Also, that liquid can be used in other industrial processes. And you can simply grind old tires into a fine powder, which can be used as a filler in many applications, such as injection molding and road construction. The reason that old tires aren’t recycled is clear: Goodyear and the other tire companies make a lot of money on expensive new tires. When I was a kid, retreads sold for ten dollars. Nowadays, a new Goodyear tire sells for two hundred dollars. There’s no recycling because the tire companies wish to eliminate all competition.

There are few Chinese companies that have installed their machines in few European countries (eastern tho) and according to my research they cost around 60-200k for a 10-15ton plant. It depends where you want it, for instance in my country Bangladesh we import large amount of diesel from India , requiring almost 40m ton . So even though the end product will not be used strictly to replace diesel it can serve as industrial fuel for many industries. Just my two cents.

    So...lets have a look what they are saying on their own website:
    “Our facility has the capacity to recycle 20 thousand tons of tires that have completed their lifespan to the economy, rather than being buried or sent to the landfill every year. Waste tires coming to our facility are not burned. We do material recovery with the process performed in an oxygen-free environment using our facility's own patented technology without burning it. We contribute to the economy by using the steel wire we recover from tires in the metal industry, pyrolytic oil in electricity generation, and the solid parts in carbon black production, which is used in paint and cosmetics. Waste tire enters the facility, all components inside are recycled and it becomes zero waste. "
    Aydın (CEO) stated that they can produce 5 thousand megawatts of licensed electricity per month and 60 thousand megawatts per month from the 4 generators in the facility, saying, "In our facility, the electricity of an average of 20 thousand households is produced from the recycling of waste tires and both imports are reduced and the product that goes to waste is brought into the economy, with zero emissions."
    my conclusion = "prejudice is not good!"

    If the shredded tires are burned in the proper sort of process, one, for instance, with low btu value fuel that needs augmentation with tire chunks to get the temperature in the process correct in order to prevent various noxious gases, burning is not a bad way to go. adding tires to the mix for making cement works well too, if temps are controlled properly (tires added at correct rate). Adding very small ground pieces (such as are created in crhyogenic grinding) to asphalt also is a proven way to create longer lasting and smoother surfaces.

      @@dsz1195 Not like that.
      The news report is very incomplete. But if you research further, the process is NOT a direct burning of tyres as opposed to incineration plant. It will be very pollutant if these are burn directly. Also a better option than putting those used tyres in landfill.
      At 2:50, it is mentioned the old tyres are shredded and subjected to chemical process, producing a by-product called pyrolisis oil (comparable with biofuel) by pyrolisis thermal process, read this link:
      2gbiopower.com/#:~:text=Enviro's%20pyrolysis%20process%20recovers%20the,products%20including%20new%20vehicle%20tyres.) The chemical process is controlled and adheres to environmental regulations.
      The other two recyclable by-products are steel wires and carbon-black. "Carbon Black originally used to make the tyres, is recovered along with the other inert fillers. This is milled and beaded for re-use in rubber components. 1kg of virgin Carbon Black is made from ~1.6 litres of fossil fuel. Recycling carbon black (rather than burning tyres) reduces emissions by about 80%."
      Only the pyrolisis oil produced are then use as fuel to burn (instead of coal or crude oil by product) in the thermal plant boiler to generate superheated steam which feed to the turbines. The turbines are then power the generators to produce electricity👍.

    If a person was paid to take in old tires, they wouldnt be everywhere in the environment. If the energy was truly there, someone would buy them from individuals and make energy without government interference or incentive. Before someone says the government should be involved to regulate this, remember that the government NEVER MAKES THINGS BETTER.
