Great report - thank you! Very informative and good to see the new Business offering. There's a lot to like but I'm afraid I really, really don't like the 2-3-2 config. Having to step over someone if sat next to the window, especially if they've reclined their seat, is off-putting. However, the middle seat of 3 in the centre of the cabin is even worse. So much so that I'd actually avoid it and fly with another airline.
Indeed James, the 1-2-1 config is so much better when you fly solo. In couples we prefer the 777 - and doing all our best to avoid the middle seat, eventually pick another day if the window seats are taken.

Hi Hamad! I am not sure, the configuration is the same for both. In the app you can see a seat preview in 3D, maybe you can figure out by that? Also, in the older version, there is a window missing at 7A.
The Goldair Handling lounge in the Extra Schengen extension is also available to Emirates passengers; it’s brand new and much nicer than the Skyserv lounge.
I don’t think this is the new business class. From what I have seen in other videos, the new business class has more a wood look and the old one is the gold one (such as this one). I will be flying first in November EWR to ATH and my sister is in business. I’ll let you guys know which one we get
Hi Gabriella. Yes, this is the same flight that came from New York. You are right, in 50% of the cases you can get the older version. I think it is totally random. Hopefully Emirates will finish to update the whole fleet asap.

My fiance and I are looking at the Newark to Athens flight to kick off our honeymoon, but are only interested in doing business class if it's the updated version. Our flight wouldn't be until late September so I don't know if that means all Newark to Athens flights by then should be updated or not. Any idea on how we can find this information out prior to booking? Great video!
@@goodforthebrand1687 hi there! I don't think you can figure out in advance, both versions have a 14 seats + 28 seats business cabin and the seatmap looks exactly the same. Plus, there can be a last minute aircraft change. Fingers crossed to get the new one!
It is not claustrophobic actually, this is one of the largest business class seat in the world, the only competition on seating space is Turkish. The dividers can be lowered down a bit, it is easy for couple to talk, but not so natural.

The 2nd daily flight from ath to dxb is oparated only on summer period by A380 and departure time from ath at night.

It is the (relatively) new one, you will see. There is a newer one only on some Boeing 777-200s.
Is this the same 777-300ER that flies from Newark to Athens? I've seen videos of the old one and it looks completely outdated

Unfortunately there isn't. Both business class cabins have the same seat map and configuration. Fingers crossed to get the new one!

Hi there! Because these are in the smaller cabin with only 2 rows, it feels very private and meanwhile you can speak with your partner as well.

Hi there. They give amenity kits only for longer flights or night flights. There is a cost reduction exercise for sure.

2-3-2 and angled lie-flat (on unrefurbished B777 aircraft) is hardly competitive for business class in 2024
And they still run at 86% on business class in Q1 2024 :)
