Chad, i will never forget this song. Me & my husband went to a club in Houston many years ago. Giant cushion,s & lots of beads & lots of smoke 😜😜. This song played at least 3 times. People just loved it 🎶🎶🎶🥰. Great vibes chad🍹🍾❤
Jim Morrison was an amazing singer and sexy as the devil but like many of the era hell bent on self destruction and often in trouble with the law for lewdness on stage. He died in Paris in his 20's of heart failure but it was no doubt secondary to drugs. Ray Manzarek on keyboards played bass via foot pedals and did amazing work on songs like "Light my fire" which I'm sure you know. Robby Krieger on guitar and John Densmore on percussion. The height of psychedelia and the Haight-Ashbury era in San Francisco. Three musicians put out so much sound. My faves "People are Strange", (any chance of reacting to that?), "Love me two times". A terrific band but unfortunately with a volatile if genius lead singer. BTW, nothing like lighting up a cigarette while getting a fill up at the gas station @5:01. 😳
The Doors have a lot of great songs, this is one of them. It's got a chill feel, but listen to the lyrics, not so chill all the time, just the way it's delivered. This was the last album I believe. Try "Light My Fire", it's my favorite of theirs. Morrison did die way too young. There are lots of theories about how he died because the French didn't do an autopsy.
The Doors were great and had a lot of potential to deliver a lot more if Morrison had not passed. So sad. Thanks for the great reaction to this classic.
This is great. It's so easy to close your eyes and get carried away listening to this. Like you said Chad you gotta feel it. I haven't heard this for a while but it's so good to hear it, its like discovering it all over again for the first time. Thanks for jogging the old memory Chad! x
I'm pretty much the same as you. I've heard of The Doors before, but I'm pretty sure I've never heard any songs from them before. I thought this was a really cool sounding song and that the instrumentation was amazing! Great reaction! I'm excited to dive more into The Doors with you!
Ray Manzarek and drummer John Densmore came from jazz, and Robby Krieger was a classical and flamenco guitarist. To me, this song sounds more like rock- jazz fusion than anything else. It’s structured like a jazz piece, too. This masterpiece was Morrison’s last song. The eerie whisper that he overdubbed on his vocals is brilliant. Man, this is a great song. Also listen to LA Woman, Roadhouse Blues, The End, and the full length Light My Fire to get the essence of the Doors. On another note, I have started a channel that features Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers. Stop by and listen! @LaurelT1948

Nice to hear this again. It is actually a beautiful song. You are right - you do have to feel it. Thank you Chad.

I'm of that generation, and my girl friends and I thought as you, Jim was very sexy and lots of charisma.

A rock legend😎🎤🎸
Great reaction Chad. Another great Doors song to put you in an altered state is "When the Music's Over" from the album Strange Days.
Great song
Ray Manzarek on the Rhodes. To me there is a bit of jazz rock feel, but even more pyschedelic to me. Good pick.
Interesting! Thanks for this reaction!
PS
Careful! Do not smoke! It is dangerous for health!

Creed does an excellent cover of this song
