Cutting this out of the film makes absolutely no sense because it shows that Evan himself is a flawed person it shows the conviction for the wrongdoing he had done. It makes him more human than what the film does. It's very hard to even tell if he learns anything by the end of the film without this song, he tells the truth people stop talking to him but Jared still seems to be friends with him and Zoe seems to forgive him towards the end but again, it feels to cut and dry if they had added this song it would have showed the heavy weight of guilt that he might have felt for what he had done and how he himself has become the monster that he didn't want to be. Not to mention it's actually a really good song.
That's the whole reason why I recorded the movie, I was so excited to hear the song in the movie but was so disappointed when I found out it wasn't included.. I'll still watch it tho
You know, I thought so too, but then I realized they had to cut it because there was no way anyone would tolerate Evan's character. "Well it's not my fault other people can [give me a life better than you, Mom" is maybe the most evil thing I've heard a character say to someone absolutely crushed and sobbing, and Evan is to blame for how his mother is feeling in the preamble to this song. It's like he killed a dog. There's no coming back from it.
